DIY Wedding Book

We LOVE weddings! If you are planning a wedding or working on an elegant craft project, you'll love this mini album we made.

This could be used for a wedding album, sign-in book, or any other project you want to have a formal, sophisticated flair.

The supplies we used are velvet paper, a stencil, gray Tumble Dye, and our kraft starter album (on sale).

Just lay your stencil over the velvet paper and spray with Tumble Dye.

After it's all dry, you can use it for your project or as an album cover. The rich, plush velvet texture is perfect for fall or winter weddings.

We decided to use plain coconut velvet paper for the spine and replace the ribbon with something more sparkly. The with velvet paper and Tumble Dye offered in so many colors, the possibilities are endless!

4" x 6" Mini Album with Florets

Greetings and welcome to the SEI Blog, it's Rhonda here today to share my project with you. I recently received one of "The Preservation Series" 4" x 6" Album and thought it would be fun to use for a mini album for my son.

To begin, I selected my papers, the Florets Assortment Pack. The pack is so nice as it also includes the stickers and sentiments as well as the papers all together for you, just perfect for a mini album.

I selected the pretty butterflies on blue paper for the cover, adhered and accented with a few stickers and silver glitter dots. I used the stickers to spell my son's name on the cover. After that I chose the other papers and covered the interior and back of the book. I left the interior back yellow as it seemed to coordinate well on its own.

Before planning any pages, I selected some of my favorite papers and trimmed to 4x6 for the base paper pages. I then trimmed several papers to 3.5 square and some others to 3 x 3 square. Additional strips and bits were cut so I would have a huge pile of mats ready to go.

The first page is very simple single photo mat. The second page, when opened it has a sentiment adhered between the photo mat and is designed as a tab that sits outside of the page protector. It becomes a fun place to journal when you open it.

The third page is a blocked design, ready to add photos. The fourth page features one of the Perforated Sheets combined with a sticker sentiment. Cute, quick and perfectly coordinates.

The fifth page on the left features another Perforated Sheet with a fun sentiment. For the sixth page I cut apart the design of the Perforated Sheet sentiment and used it as a photo corner to frame the photo. I used a silver glitter dot as a simple accent in the word You.

I've left the other pages blank so we can add full sized photos as well as some cropped favorites. One other thing to mention, I've kept this design very simple. The idea is, if you are at a crop and had only the mini album, the paper pack and one embellishment, plus your basic tools of a trimmer and adhesives, you could create it.

Mini albums are so much fun to make and my children love to bring them in for share day at school. They are always excited and proud to show off a bit of their story. I hope I've inspired you to create something fun today!

Rhonda

Part II: 30th Birthday Mini Album with Florets

I'm a firm believer that it's never too late to scrapbook an event. In fact, I'm still working on my wedding album, and my husband and I have been married for three years! ...but that's a story for another day ;) You may remember I shared this Florets collection mini album project with you a few months ago. I'm plugging away on the pages, so I thought I'd share a few more spreads today:

If you have a vertical photo, don't be afraid to flip the whole book! I love creating vertical spreads because they're unexpected. I used the "HELLO" banner stickers included with the Florets collection pack to create a page title, "HELLO FLORIDA!" -- another fun twist on your typical use of sentiment stickers. By the way, doesn't that big, bright yellow flower look so tropical? I think it perfectly complements the beachy, girly look.

The next spread is all about birthday fun, so I threw in a few favorites from the new Sprinkles collection and last year's summer Sunshine Lemonade collection. Don't feel like you have stick with one collection when you're making an album... I love mixing and matching coordinating elements from different collections to add variety to my scrapbook pages.

Doesn't that Key Lime Pie look delicious? In mini albums, photo space is precious, and it often doesn't make sense to have a full-page photo for a detail shot. Simply use a larger shape punch to create inset photos.

I'll be sharing more of this album in the coming months. Do you tend to complete one album at once or do you work on many projects at the same time like me? Leave a comment letting us know!

Happy crafting,
Stephanie

Amazing Kraft Expandable Mini Album

Hello and welcome to the blog, today I have an album to share with you. I used the 6x6 Expandable Album for my project today along with the "Always Yours" Assortment Pack, Borders and Titles.

I started by tracing the front cover onto the pattered paper, then trimmed to fit and used my 1/4 inch corner rounder on the corners and inked the edges lightly. Adhered with my favorite dry adhesive to match my rounded corners.

If you didn't measure just right, that's ok, just use the pretty Borders as a transition strip and you can beautifully disguise any gaps.

I collaged a few of my favorite pretty elements from the Assortment Pack along with a few stickers from the Titles. The pink layered heart I added a bit of Glossy Accents to for texture. I also added a small flourish die cut which I cut using the patterned paper and my die cut machine. To finish the cover, I added pretty chipboard bird which I inked with a bit of Chalk Ink to coordinate with the stickers.

Tip: I wanted a pretty storage solution for some of my favorite 6x6 craft stencils and this album is perfect for them! I love that there are refills and you can add to it very easily.

Thank you so much for stopping on over and spending a few minutes with us here on the blog today! Rhonda

Florets Covered Composition Notebook

Hi, Connie here with a journal notebook using the Florets Collection by S.E.I. In the collection it has a sheet of cork paper. It's not paper, it is cork but the size of paper. I really wanted to create something with this, very cool, sheet of cork. I decided to cover a composition notebook with it ~

I started out like this~

I used double sided tape to hold the cork paper in place. Place the double sided tape as close to the edge of the composition notebook as you can. The cork will chip off, if it is not right on the edge. Cut some one inch strips of paper to cover up the seem. Take a pillow box and cut it half and use the bottom to hold the flowers.

The Florets die cut flowers can be arranged like a bouquet. The centers are in the Florets sundries pack. I also added Bright paper doilies under the pillow box for color. Speckled with black Tumble Dye to finish it off. Looking forward to using this journal notebook.

Thanks for stopping by~

Lovely Embellished Spiral Bound Journal

Greetings and welcome to the blog SEI friends, it's Rhonda here today to host.

My project today features the Spiral Bound Journal and the Always Yours collection. I wanted a pretty journal that I can use as a mashup for inspirational thoughts and quotes as well as to document some fun mom memories and moments for reflection.

I began by choosing my focal point papers, then trimming them to size. I adjusted the left border by adding another layer just to the left, then embellishing the transition space with a touch of eyelet lace that I had on my desk. I stitched around all of those layers, then adhered.

The sentiment chipboard was inked with a soft green chalk ink and layered with a coordinating sticker from the collection and a flourish that I cut using a die and my die cut machine. I added the tiny grey chipboard heart in the bottom right corner.

Here you will see my first two interior pages. I kept it fairly simple but thought that the quote was perfect to grace the intro page vellum pocket. This collection is so lovely, the finish of the papers and the foil and pearl accents are amazing.

Thanks so much for stopping on over today!
Rhonda

30th Birthday Mini Album Featuring Florets

Hi there! Today's project features the Florets collection, one I fell absolutely head over heels for as soon as I saw it! I just love the mix of sweet florals, fun geometrics and coral and turquoise colors. I knew the patterns and palette would be perfect for scrapbooking a recent weekend beach getaway. So I grabbed my SEI basics kraft album and got to work selecting, trimming and gluing papers and embellishments to make my cover:

When I flipped the album open, I noticed this die-cut tab overlay with a product description. I loved the uniquely curved shape of the tab, so decided that rather instead of removing this piece of the packaging, I would cover it and use it as the intro page to my album. I simply traced another sheet of paper around the shape:

*Quick tip* Trace on the opposite side of the side you want to be facing upwards, so that you don't run the risk of having a pencil trace line showing if you're cut isn't totally exact.

Once you have it traced, go ahead and cut it out. You're left with the perfect shape to place on top. Then you can add embellishments as desired!

Happy crafting,
Stephanie

Holiday Mini Album

Hello SEI Fans!!

Piali here... sharing a mini album with you all!!
Its a gift I made ...the recipient can document the holiday memories in it.

I used the super cute Merry Mistletoe collection.
Love the colors, cute deer & birds!!
The mini album is fabulous... love the red foiled polka dots on it!

This super cute Deer diecut is my favorite!

I used the diecuts and sticker from this collection to embellish the album cover.

I decorated each page inside, so that the recipient can just insert their own pictures.

Here is how it looks like when you first open the album.

To make the album a bit more fun, I used We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool to make some shaker pockets..

Added some sequins and die cut pieces.
The diecuts are double sided so they are perfect for clear pockets.

One more shaker pocket...

I also created some journalling pages...

Super easy to do... just draw some lines and add cute stickers...super fun!!

Check out the fun little details of this album here...

SEI albums makes a great gift, very easy to embellish and use!!!

Hope you all liked this project!!
