DIY Halloween T-Shirt and Bib

It's still hot here in Utah. But, before long we will start diving into fall and Halloween! So, we thought we would kick start this season with a simple Halloween project using our jack-o-lantern iron-ons.

We started by ironing the largest jack-o-lantern onto the shirt. Then, we added glow-in-the dark letters. These letters have to be removed very carefully.

This sheet also includes 2 little jack-o-lantern iron-ons. So, we decided to make a little bib too. For this one, we used our black classic iron on letters.

Do you like to dress up for Halloween? If you do, you're in luck! Our Halloween iron-ons are on sale this week. Check them out here.

DIY Strawberry T-Shirt & Halloween Costume Ideas

Yesterday we showed you how to make an R2D2 t-shirt costume. Today we are showing you how to make a strawberry t-shirt. This would be so cute paired with a red or green tulle skirt!

The process is the same as the R2D2 shirt and can be applied to a lot of different costume ideas using iron-on sheets.

You will need the same supplies: free cutting templates, scissors or cutting machine, red or pink t-shirt, iron, and iron-on sheets (we used white and green). We also used a yellow button.

First, cut out your shapes using the templates. We traced the leaves on the paper and cut them out using scissors. We used our cutting machine for the seeds.

Then, arrange the pieces and iron them onto the shirt. We also sewed a little yellow button in the center of the flower.

That's it! We hope you enjoyed these simple t-shirt costume ideas. Here are a few other fun costume ideas that would be easy to make using iron-on sheets: playing cards, BB8, robber, magic 8 ball & pizza, and more!

Don't forget to check out yesterday's R2D2 shirt too. Happy Halloween!

Easy DIY R2D2 T-Shirt Halloween Costume Idea

Do you like to make your own Halloween costumes? We love using our creativity to come up with ideas, especially when our kids have something in mind that can't be found at the store. It can be really fun and save you some money too!

Today and tomorrow we are sharing 2 simple t-shirt costumes using iron-on sheets, our favorite product for making Halloween costumes. They come in a variety of colors and can be cut into any shape you want.

To make your own R2D2 shirt, you will need cutting templates, scissors or a cutting machine, a white t-shirt, iron, and iron-on sheets (we used blue, black and metallic silver).

First, trace your pieces onto the iron-on sheets or cut them with your cutting machine. We did a some both ways.

Next, arrange the pieces on the shirt. We suggest doing one layer at a time.

Last, iron on the pieces. Easy, huh?

We love how versatile these iron-on sheets are. This would be a fun shirt to wear after Halloween too. The nice thing is you can wash these and the iron-ons are permanent. Make sure to check back tomorrow to learn how we made the strawberry shirt!

Last Minute Halloween Trick-or-Treat Ideas

Happy Halloween! Today we have some fun last-minute ideas that you can do to get ready for trick-or-treaters.

First up, make your own trick-or-treat bag. This project will only take a couple minutes. All you need is a simple canvas bag and your favorite iron-on transfer. You could also use iron-on letters to spell your child's name for a personal touch.

If you don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters or just want something different for some special trick-or-treaters, why not decorate your package a bit? We used Cow Tales and scrapbook supplies for this project.

For the first one, we just wrapped the box in paper and added a ribbon and tag. For, the second Cow Tale idea, we put some Cow Tales in a little bag and added scraps of paper and stickers to the top. Simple and easy!

Happy Halloween!!

We decided to cut a jack-o-lantern shape out of this sheet and iron it onto a black shirt. But, there are lot's of other ideas... How about cutting bone shapes out and making a glowing skeleton? What about a glowing ghost?

All you need is a shirt, iron-on sheet, and iron. These sheets are super easy to use.

First, draw or trace your design onto the backing. We just free-handed our jack-o-lantern face. You can also use it with a cutting machine for a more precise design. Cut out your shapes.

Then, iron it onto your shirt.

Cute Halloween Treat

We were excited when we stopped at the dollar store and saw Cow Tales. The packaging is perfect for Halloween and we love caramels. So, we just had to grab a few boxes for some extra special trick-or-treaters.

We had lot's of ideas of ways to decorate them. So, we will be sharing those on the blog. First, we made this one Halloween themed using our kraft classics paper pad. There are 48 pages that work great together.

After wrapping it in kraft paper, we added some scraps of ribbon, stickers, and tags. It's a simple, fun way to give a little treat for Halloween.

Cheesecloth Ghosts Decor with Glow & Glitter!

We wanted to put a little spin on a classic cheesecloth ghost. We are SO THRILLED with how it turned out!

If you haven't made these before, it's really quite simple. Drape cheesecloth over something shaped like a ghost. We placed a water balloon sitting in a wine glass on wax paper. Then, saturate it with starch spray. Once it drys, you can remove the balloon and it stands on its own!

For more fun, add Tumble Dye! We decided to use the glow-in-the-dark for the first one. Simply spray it with dye while it's still damp. Look how cool it looks in the dark.

The second ghost we wanted to make a little more girly. So, we used silver glitter tumble dye and added a bow. You can also accessorize with a bowtie, eyes, etc.

Have you made these cheesecloth ghosts before? If not, we hope you're ready to try with some dye. Happy Friday the 13th!

DIY Halloween Cards

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you know that we've had some great sales lately! In fact, just this week, we added three new Halloween limited edition card kits for only $7 each.

Sometimes the shots on our website, don't do these kits justice. So, we would like to share 3 of the cards from the Spooky Street limited edition kit.

These kits are so fun and simple to put together! This bat card is one of our favorites. The black velvet paper adds a richness to these that is hard to capture with a camera.

This monster card would be so fun for your kids, nephew, niece, or grandchildren.

How would you like to open an envelope to find a card with giant spiders on it?

We hope this little sample gives you a better idea about what comes in our limited edition card kits. Check out this kit an more in this week's sale here.

DIY Halloween Favor Bags

Have you walked down the Halloween isle yet? It's full of yummy candy! If you want a cute way to share some treats for your favorite little goblins, we have a fun DIY!

If you aren't a big sugar fan, you could also stuff these with stickers, party favors, gift cards, whatever suits your Halloween tradition.

Believe it or not, these are super simple to make! You could even make these at a Halloween party. All you need is some little fabric bags, your favorite tie dye colors, and iron-on letters.

First, spray or dip your bags in the dye. If you get them wet first, the color will blend more. Let the dye dry. You can use a blow-dryer to speed things along. Heat set the dye with an iron.

Next, gently peel off the letters you want to use. Place them on the bag, adhesive side down. Then, iron-on them on!

Last, fill them with something fun to giveaway! Simple, right?

We hope this inspired you to start your fall and Halloween crafting!

Simple Halloween Pumpkin Decor

Hi, Connie here with a fun project using the Simple Blessings Collection by S.E.I. Fall is right around the corner and I have a grandson that loves pumpkins, so I knew what I needed to make!! A pumpkin it will be.

I used a wooden letter "C" and turned it on its side, to get the shape of a pumpkin. I adhered a tree branch to the top for the pumpkin stem and then covered the wooden letter with pattern paper from the Simple Blessings Collection. The edges of the wooden letter were sanded down after the paper was adhered, for a clean smooth edge. Using the die-cut pack and the sticker pack I clustered embellishments around the branch at the top of the pumpkin. Gave it a fun festive look.

Black and red Tumble Dye were speckled on the front of the pumpkin, creating this home decor piece for Fall.

I hope you enjoyed this project!!

Thanks for stopping by~

Super Easy and Cute Halloween Treat Bags

With Halloween just around the corner, I wanted to share some easy Halloween treat bags. Using basic canvas and paper favor bags from craft stores and your favorite stickers from the SEI Simple Blessings collection, you can dress up your candy carriers so they're ready for gift-giving in minutes.

For the canvas bag, I used my paper piercing tool to poke a teeny hole at the top of the bag, then affixed my tag at the top using a pearl brad.

The treat bag features a hodge-podge of stickers and die-cuts over a base from the Kraft Classics paper stack. Quick tip: Fold over the bag to the desired finished height first, then apply your cardstock, so it's easier to fold. A clothespin can keep your fold in place. I added a few little autumn leave cut-outs just for fun.

Don't forget the details to make simple projects stand out. I love placing stickers on adhesive foam squares to add dimension. I also mixed and matched a few other SEI elements from my stash - like a foam leaf from the Summer Smiles collection - to add extra flair to the pumpkin and candy corn illustrations.

Happy crafting and happy haunting!
