3 down, I forget how many left to go. So onto a bit of crochet. I didn't feel like dealing with my two clothing wips/redos or something too simplistic. So I picked an afghan kit out of the closet (of doom). I did have to frog half of the first part because I added a stitch, but I'll remember not to do that for the next 3 petals. I didn't buy more stash this week. (My credit card thanks me) but I did get the backordered ornaments. On the other hand my Mary Maxim order hasn't shipped yet. Maybe something ended up backordered? Anyway, I really should reorganize my cross stitch. It's gotten a little all over the place and I started using my linen closet for storage just so it wouldn't be in a pile on the floor. May tackle the closet again.

Under 10 to go

Image
I officially have 9 rows left on the page. This will be done by next week. Also saw Clyde, he was being cheeky lying on top of the file cabinet when I came in. And while I may have managed to not buy anything during the HAED sale, I wasn't so lucky with ads from Herrschners... and Mary Maxim. I finally got a coupon that worked on the afghan, but then I started poking around the site, saw the stackers, caved on the rest of my snowman family, and got all the doilies I had been eyeing for a few years.   I need to get a move on with the crafting. Or win the lottery and stay home to work on all of them...

Lend me an ear

Image
71/98 rows done. I initially was wondering what the red-ish colors on the far right were, then I realized it was her ear. Also, I think I went a bit overboard with Christmas ornament kits. Many of the santas were backordered so those are still on the way... I think I can decorate my entire tree in cross stitch. May take November to work on these rather than my rotation.

half way

Image
So I've passed the half way point of the page. 56/98 rows finished. Unfortunately I also caved to the Christmas in July sales. I have many more ornament kits on the way... But in lieu of those items, here's Clyde. It took 6 months, but he finally likes the bed we got him. Although being a cat, he still likes boxes.

Busy week

Image
I didn't get as much done as I would've liked. Dead tired Friday, spent Saturday making 2 scarves for my mom, and my "weekend" was filled with doctor's visits... So only up to 44 rows. During a visit to my parent's, sat on my old bed (which Clyde has claimed as his) and didn't quite know what to make of me being in that location in the house. Last photo was taken after we put him on the bed. Although he's finally taken to his bed about 6 months after we got it for him. Silly kitty.

1/3 of the way through page 3

That's a lot of three's. Got some more stash. I swear this should be the last of it for a while. (Must resist HAED sale...) The majority of the cross stitch was because I was ordering from Sew and So and had the need to make shipping worthwhile.  Saw Clyde yesterday. These two photos were taken seconds apart. (Mom was getting his attention for me) And had some visitors. Mom and 5 babies (2 were under the porch at the time of photo)

Where did those lights come from?

Image
Almost 20 rows completed on page 3 of this. This is one of those pieces that your so on top of, it takes a photo to realize something appeared. So I went to another Yankee game yesterday, didn't get burnt this time, but I'm still slightly red from Memorial Day. By the way, the two guys on the left are 5'11" and 6'2". Aaron Judge (#99) is a very large human being who will make me feel tiny if I ever meet him. (I'm 5'10" for reference) And here's Clyde looking cute. He somehow found a hole in the pillows to have his own little fort.

Trouble with wearable items

Image
So my fit issues with crochet items I want to wear continues. Initially went with a larger size due to pattern 'bust size'. My gauge was a little larger than required, but figured it would give me a bit more room to possibly wear a bra under it. Nope. turned out way too big. Kept hook and went down a size. The band fits better but now I'm worried about coverage. I know there's a border, but still worried. So, taking a break while I figure out if I keep going or modify the top. So back to Alternative Reality.

Yay! Now to do something else for a bit.

A head!

Image
The top of one anyway. Finally something interesting has appeared. And I have created an Instagram account for Clyde. https://www.instagram.com/clydewildhousepanther/

half of page 2

Image
I'm slightly more than halfway through page 2, but I still have 15 more rows before anything interesting appears. Although there was one row that had 7 stitches of the same color in a row (gasp!) I had a very busy week that included 2 interviews. It was capped off by being out of town this weekend for a wedding and was unable to stitch for 2 days. It was in the foothills of the Catskills and I was calling it the boondocks as I saw lots of corn, cows, and deer. And my hotel had no cell reception. Thankfully it had WiFi so I wasn't completely cut off from the outside world. And here's a pretty picture of Clyde who was tired from chasing the red dot.

Still background

Image
Still nothing very interesting happening yet. Pretty, but not very interesting. So I leave you with Clyde. I'm thinking of making an instagram account for him or a facebook page. Clyde 'crazy kitty' with the tagline "Cats are supposed to sleep at least 14 hours a day. He didn't get the memo."

More (alternative) reality

Image
Not quite as much done as last week, but I did take a bit of time to make a scarf. Almost 30 rows on page 2.
