Reach For The Stars Watercolour Galaxy Card

I seem to be on a real watercolour kick lately. It's just one of the best mediums and so, so versatile.

I also love galaxy backgrounds. I usually create them with ink blending - but I felt like creating a watercolour version this time! So I decided to pull out the Altenew Watercolour 36 Pan set and put it to work!

Out of this world, right?! I love how this turned out!

I finally got to play with the awesome Concord & 9th Star Turnabout stamp set. This is one of the best turnabouts - totally up my street I stamped the turnabout 4 times and heat embossed the stars with a mix of white and glittery embossing powders.

Now it was time to play! I used a few of the pans in the Altenew set and painted my watercolour. The heat embossed stars just work so well with a resist technique!

Once my watercolour was dry, I painted over some of the areas with some diluted glimmer mist for some extra sparkle! The sentiment from the WPlus9 Little Dreamers stamp set was the perfect finishing touch!

I Love You To The Moon And Back Space Card

Hi everyone, Taheerah here wishing you a happy Saturday!

Space has always been my one true love. Seriously, from the science books I read as a kid, through to watching Star Trek, to what I studied at university, it's always been something I've always been fascinated in!

I mentioned Star Trek and of course one of the most famous phrases and special effects is the reference to warp speed and the trailing star field that results. So naturally I love recreating that look in cards! Beforehand doing that was confined to a couple of stamp sets or perhaps creating the effect myself. The Altenew Warp Speed Stencil changed all that:

Not only does this card look out of this world, but it was a cinch to create too!

I laid my stencil over my black card base and spritzed it with an iridescent silver glimmer mist, splattered on some white mist and bam! Instant warped star field!

I heat embossed the sentiment from the WPlus9 Little Dreamers stamp set (a must-have set!) and then trimmed the sentiment in half. I felt that having the sentiment in two strips, one on either side and top and bottom, helped convey the sense of movement too!

Reach For The Stars Card

Sometimes a stamp set is so perfect that it doesn't really need much to create a stunning card with it. The WPlus9 Little Dreamers stamp set is one such example! Those adorable images just work so well together and work for a variety of styles - not just baby cards!

I couldn't wait to play with this cutie of a set:

Happy sigh. It really turned out exactly as I imagined in my head!

I built my scene with several of the adorable animals from the set, as well as those open and solid stars. Easy peasy!

I added some very simple watercolouring with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I love the storybook look they helped me create!

A little bit of subtle mist splatter and that wonderful sentiment and this card was done! I'm so happy with how it turned out!
