August Challenge Week 3 - Final Reminder

It's your final reminder for our challenge and this month we have a theme for you inspired by a window display I spotted on a recent trip to Liverpool.

So our theme this month is GEOMETRY - its time to start playing with pattern - you can stamp it, die cut it, emboss it, score it or even draw it with a ruler - we just want to see some geometric pattern on your project somewhere.  Don't forget though - you have to use at least one product from Seven Hill's Crafts to be eligible for the £15 prize.  With over 5500 items to choose from we don't think this is too hard a rule!   Entrants that don't follow this rule may be deleted.

Here's the final inspiration from our DT to spark your ideas if you're still wondering what to make.

Kate
using Winnie and Walter stamps.

Keren

using Hello There Dienamics from MFT and a square punch

You can link up your project on our dedicated Challenge Page once you're ready to play.  The deadline is 10pm on Friday 26th August.   So what are you waiting for - time to get playing!!!

July Challenge Week 3

It's your final reminder for this months fruity colour challenge.  You don't have to use fruit in your project - although you can if you like - you just have to use a minimum of 3 colours from one of the 3 options and YOU MUST USE PRODUCTS WE SELL IN STORE somewhere on the card.   Don't forget if you don't use at least one product we sell (and you have over 5000 to choose from!) then your entry will not be eligible for the prize and the Design Team won't visit you.

Here is some more fabulous inspiration from our Design Team:

Tara
I picked the apple scheme this time and just used Lil' Inker Designs'
Silly Stitched Die with some pigment ink to create the rings.

Keren

I've used the third colour scheme, which is a perfect guy combo.
I've used 'The Write Stuff; Leave it to Dad' from Winnie & Walter

So, pick your fruit and get creating - you can win £15 if you do and you have until 10 pm on Sunday 24th July to play along.  Link up your finished project on our challenges page.

June Sketch Challenge Week 3

We have a sketch for you to play with this month.   You can flip it, rotate it, make a picture, a card, a scrapbook page - anything you like as long as we see the sketch was the jumping off point for your make.   You must also use at least one item we sell in store to be eligible for the £15 prize.

Here are the final makes from the DT to get your inspirational juices flowing.

Kate

Using Fairy friends from Lawn fawn.

May Theme Challenge - Week 3

It's your final reminder to play along with our challenge.  This month we are just looking for you to feature EMBOSSING on your project.   This can be heat embossing, embossing with folders or old fashioned scoring embossing with a ball tool!

If you want to be in with a chance of winning the £15 prize you must use at least one product that we sell in store.

You have just over a week left to play.  As usual the DT are playing along to help get your creative juices flowing and this week its the turn of Kate and Keren to inspire you.

Kate

Keren
using the Dainty Scallop Coverup die (MFT) to act as an embossing plate. I've teamed this with the Lucky Dog set and the die cut sentiment is using the fabulous felt

You have until 10pm on Wednesday 25th May to link your project to our challenge page

April Colour Challenge Final Reminder and March Winner

Are you playing along for your chance to win with us this month?  If not then this is your final reminder.  This month we're playing with colours and we're feeling a little "blue" so all of our schemes this month feature blue and we'd like to see you use blue whichever of the schemes you choose.

So to play along - pick one of the schemes below and use at least 3 colours (including a blue) to make your entry.   Remember to use at least one product from the vast range we sell at Seven Hills Crafts to be eligible for the £15 prize.

I missed the post last week so I am sharing all the DT's inspiration with you today.

Jill
I chose option A and used Neat an Tangled's Hello There die, Mama Elephant's Zenith Border set, Mama Elephant's Index Card Creative Cuts, and a selection of Hero Arts and My Favourite Things inks.

Jenny

I went with the middle colour palette and used Lawn Fawns Hippo Birdie stamp set
and MFT's Watercolour Stripes for a tone on tone pattern on the base card :)

Keren
I've used the Build-able Bouquet from MFT and the Friend die

Link up to our challenges page by the deadline of 10pm on Sunday 24th April for a chance to win.

Talking of winning -  here are the very belated announcements of the winners for last month's sketch challenge.  As always it is really hard to pick one winner but we did it in the end!

Our winner this month flipped the sketch sideways but then created this really cute scene using a mixture of sets from MFT.  Congrats Anja - drop an email to the store to collect your winners code for the store.

Our two runners up both kept the sketch the original orientation and one went masculine with bold colours and a great nautical theme, the other went with a lovely feminine floral theme and we love them both!  Congrats to "I love stamping" and Gemma.

Here's the badge for your blogs if you would like to show off your win!

March Sketch Challenge Week 3

It's your final reminder to play along with our simple sketch for this month's challenge.  You can flip the orientation, go layered or one layer, card or layout - whatever you fancy - just show that the sketch was the kick off point and make sure you use at least one product from the vast range we stock to be eligible for the £15 prize.   Deadline is 10pm on Sunday 27th March.

We have two final inspiration projects from the DT to inspire you if you're not sure where to take the sketch.

Kate

I have twisted the sketch and used the Lawn Fawn's succulents instead of  an aperture.

Keren
I've gone super simple and very similar to the sketch. I've used the MFT set 'Get Down To Business' for a fun birthday card for a bloke

Link up to our challenge page when you've finished your project for a change to win.

February Challenge - Fancy Folds - Week 3

It's your final reminder to play along with our fancy folds challenge this month.  It seems you are all finding it a bit trickier this month as our number of entrants are a bit low.   It might look daunting but it really isn't!  That box card is my first and it didn't take long at all.  It was actually quite fun even though its out of my normal style so do give it a go - you might just enjoy it and that is the point of a "challenge" right????

There are more examples of fancy folds on this board on pinterest

Tara
My fold is a box card which does fold flat for posting.
I used Tiny Heroes and Cityscape die from Mama Elephant and an old die from my stash along with some DP from the Beachside pad which is currently on sale.

Keren
My fold is something I discovered online when searching for sculptural folds. It's an Origami Tessellation that can be made into the Miura Ori Ball. Mine is a lesser slightly freestyled version just using 1 A4 sheet of paper. I've used the Paper Smooches Hello Love die too. The card has a very wide folded spine to accommodate the extra origami width that's glued into the aperture

When you have your project done - go ahead and link it up here by 10pm Wednesday 24th February.   You must at least one product sold in Seven Hills Crafts to be eligible for the £15 prize
