Bliss - Scrapping Outback + Kaisercraft July #4 sketch

This month it's my turn to organize a random chipboard challenge for Scrapping Outback. I decided to go for a 'vintage challenge'. The idea is to make a layout with a vintage feel to it. For my own example for this challenge I made a layout using Kaisercrafts Magnolia Grove collection. I also drew inspiration from the July #4 sketch at the Kaisercraft blog.

Deze maand mag ik de 'random chipboard challenge' organiseren voor Scrapping Outback. Mijn opdracht is 'vintage', oftewel maak een layout in vintage stijl. Voor mijn eigen voorbeeld heb ik gebruik gemaakt van de prachtige Magnolia Grove lijn van Kaisercraft. Daarbij heb ik inspiratie gehaald uit een mooie sketch op het Kaisercraft blog. 

The gorgeous title 'Bliss' is from Scrapping Outback. I covered it with liquid applique, which I heated with my heat gun for a puffy look.

De titel 'Bliss' is een chipboard figuur van Scrapping Outback. Ik heb het voorzien van een laagje liquid applique, dat door de heat gun mooi gaat 'poppen'.

My heart - Scrapping Outback -

This month it is my turn to run a 'white with a twist' challenge at Scrapping Outback. I decided to go for a black twist, so my challenge is to create a layout using black and white. You can find more info about this challenge here. By playing along you can earn yourself a voucher for their online store, where you can find some gorgeous laser-cut chippies. I used a chipboard embellishment that originally said 'You tug at my heart strings'. But I decided to only use the words 'my' and 'heart', as they suited this photo of my grandpa and niece so well.

Deze maand was het mijn beurt om een 'white with a twist' challenge te bedenekn voor Scrapping Outback. Ik heb gekozen voor een zwarte 'twist', dus de opdracht is om een zwart witte layout te maken. Je kunt meer informatie over de wedstrijd vinden in het forum. Door mee te doen, kun je een voucher voor hun online winkel verdienen, waarin prachtige laser-cut chipboard wordt aangeboden. Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van een chipboard embellishment met de tekst 'You tug at my heart strings'. Ik heb alleen de woorden 'my' en 'heart' gebruikt, omdat ze perfect pasten bij deze foto van mij opa en nichtje.

Just Us

A few weeks ago Hilde gave me some of the amazing Kaisercraft papers. Due to my exams and other deadlines I hadn't had the time to play with them yet. But yesterday I finally put this gorgeous Bonjour collection to use. This layout is my example for the Scrapping Outback sketch challenge. Alicia has come up with a fabulous sketch, which made it so easy to create a layout very quickly!

Een paar weken geleden kreeg ik een doos vol met mooi Kaisercraft papier van Hilde. Vanwege mijn examens en andere deadlines had ik er tot nu toe nog niets mee gemaakt. Maar gisteren heb ik de prachtige Bonjour collectie eindelijk kunnen gebruiken. Deze layout is mijn voorbeeld voor de Scrapping Outback sketch. Alicia's sketch maakte het scrappen heel makkelijk: binnen een paar uur had ik deze layout af.

I used the gorgeous 'Just the 2 of us' chipboard that Rachelle has designed herself. You can find it in the Scraping Outback store, here. Because I didn't have a lot of space on my layout left, I decided to only use the words 'Just' and 'us' for my title. Of course I saved the '2', so I can use that on another layout.

Voor de titel heb ik het 'Just 2 of us' chipboard gebruikt. Rachelle ontwerpt deze chipboard figuren zelf. Je kunt ze in de Scrapping Outback winkel vinden, en wel hier. Omdat ik niet zoveel plaats meer over had op mijn layout, heb ik alleen de woorden 'just' en 'us' voor mijn titel gebruikt. De '2' heb ik bewaard. Die komt vast nog een keer goed van pas!

I also tried to make a detailed corner. I fussy cut a couple of flowers and a butterfly and made them peek out in the corner.

Ik heb geprobeerd een mooi hoekje te maken rechts bovenin. Daarvoor heb ik een paar bloemen en een vlinder uitgeknipt, die in de hoek tevoorschijn komen.

Bliss

Today I have a layout to show you, but before doing so, I wanted to share some great news with you. After having spent 5 days in the hospital, my mom will come home tomorrow! It will take some time before she's recovered completely, but this is the first step in the right direction. We can't wait to have her at home again! 

Then onto the scrap part of this post. Since I had a lack of scraptime this week, I decided to mix two DT assignments. I created this layout for Bo Bunny as an example for the current sketch challenge and used it as an example for the Scrapping Outback 'monochromatic challenge' too. The papers, stickers and stamps are from one of my all time favourite Bo Bunny collections: Et Cetera. The gorgeous chipboard flourish and star are from Scrapping Outback. 

Na een korte stilte op mijn blog heb ik weer een nieuwe layout te laten zien. Maar voordat ik dat doe, wil ik graag het goede nieuws vertellen dat we vandaag hebben gehoord. Na vijf dagen in het ziekenhuis, mag mijn moeder namelijk morgen naar huis! Het zal nog wel even duren voordat ze volledig is hersteld, maar het is in ieder geval een eerste grote stap in de goede richting!

En dan nu het scrapdeel van deze blogpost. Omdat het me deze week een beetje aan scraptijd ontbrak, heb ik twee DT opdrachten gecombineerd. Deze layout is zowel mijn voorbeeld voor de Bo Bunny sketch challenge als voor de Scrapping Outback 'ton-sûr-ton' wedstrijd. Het papier, de stickers en de stempels komen uit één van mijn favoriete Bo Bunny lijnen: Et Cetera. De prachtige chipboard swirl is van Scrapping Outback.

All White & G45 Finalists!

The weather has been so lovely here the past few days, that it's hard to realize only a few weeks ago we were living in a winter wonderland. Because winter started a little late in Holland this year, I still have a ton of winter photos to scrap. Fortunately I have a lot of Bo Bunny's Snowfall collection left to scrap these photos with. This is such a gorgeous collection, I just love all the glitter and snowflakes! Today's post on the Bo Bunny blog is about making your own embellishments. For this layout I created my own dimensional snowflakes, by simply fussy cutting them from the papers and stapling them with foamtape. Really easy peasy, but I loved the look it gave!

This page is also my first page as a designer for Scrapping Outback. They recently asked me to join their team and sent me a package of gorgeous chipboard to play with. I came up with a sketch for this month's challenge and this layout is my own take on it. The fairy is one of the stunning chippies that they sent me.

Het Hollandse weer begint langzaam weer de seizoenen te volgen. Ik vind het heerlijk dat ik mijn sjaal weer in de kast kan laten en zonder handschoenen de deur uit kan. Via de foto's kan ik toch nog genieten van het sneeuwlandschap van een paar weken geleden. Gelukkig heb ik ook nog veel van de Snowfall lijn van Bo Bunny liggen, zodat een aantal van de foto's een plaatsje op een layout kunnen krijgen. Deze layout heb ik gemaakt voor de post op het Bo Bunny blog van vandaag. De opdracht was om je eigen embellishments te maken. Voor deze layout heb ik zelf 3D sneeuwvlokken in elkaar geflanst. Ik heb verschillende glittersneeuwvlokjes uit het papier geknipt en heb deze met foamblokjes op elkaar gestapeld. Heel simpel, maar ik vond het toch wel een leuk effect geven.

Deze layout is tevens mijn eerste creatie als designer voor Scrapping Outback. Zij hebben me een aantal prachtige chipboard figuren gestuurd om mee aan de slag te gaan, waaronder dit mooie elfje.

And I just read this blogpost, which totally made my day. I'm one of the 30 finalists for Graphic 45! Yay!! I still can't believe it. I'll be creating some final creations with G45 to sent in this weekend and then I'll have to wait to see the final announcement. But I'm so happy already to be on the list, among 29 very talented artists:)  

En vandaag las ik deze blogpost, waar ik nogal hyper van werd... Ik ben één van de 30 finalisten voor het Graphic 45 designteam! Yay:) Ik kan het nog steeds nauwelijks geloven. Dit weekend hoop ik nog een aantal creaties met hun papier te maken om in te sturen en dan is het afwachten wie er uiteindelijk in hun DT komen. Ik voel me in ieder geval al heel vereerd om bij de laatste dertig te zitten:)
