SOUS- Project Life Reveal

Today's Project Life challenge at SOUS was to use wood grain. I had part of older Authentique collection that had some wood grain paper, so I decided to use that on my spread.  I also had a bunch of stickers that went with the collection, so it worked out perfectly. That's one of the things  I love about doing PL is that I can use up my stash like that.

Make sure to hop on over to the SOUS blog to see the other creations using wood grain and don't forget to link up your project as well!

Project Life- SOUS

This week's challenge at SOUS was to use Plaid and let me tell you, it was a challenge for me. I searched high and low through all my papers to find a bit of plaid and it was hard to do! But I did it! YAY me! :) This week's layout is about the first week back to school. Noah started kindergarten and Renee is in her last year of Junior High! Grade Nine already! I can't believe it!

Hop on over to the SOUS blog and see how everyone else used Plaid and make sure to enter your project for a chance at winning this months prize!

Project Life- SOUS

This week's challenge at SOUS for Project Life was to use Orange, Black and White. I just happened to have a whole bunch of photos that all focused on getting ready for Fall. We decorated, shopped and did crafts and the colors were perfect for this challenge!

The little die cut of the tree that I used was the freebie over at Miss Kate Cuttables. If you own a Silhouette and aren't familiar with this site, I suggest you check it out! They have a great freebie every day of the week! Plus there's tons of things to buy if you're interested in that!

Birthday Girl- SOUS- Project Life

Today's challenge at SOUS was to use a Keep Calm card. These cards can be found everywhere. I did a google search for mine. I know what I wanted it to say and just typed that in. Tons of images came up for this. I checked to make sure that it was one that was free to print and then away I went. This week's spread is about Isla's 2nd Birthday party that we had at the lake. Don't we all look great? LOL!

Hope you can join in this week's challenge with your own Keep Calm card! Trust me, they aren't hard to find and make a really cute addition to your layout! Link up your projects for a chance to win a great monthly prize!

Summer- Project Life for SOUS

Today over at SOUS, the Project Life challenge was to Make a List! I chose to use a printed Summer Bucket List card for my layout. I wrote a list of things we had done that went with the pictures I wanted to use. It was a great, relaxing summer and we sure enjoyed the nice weather we had here this year.  So sad that it's over, but there's always next year!

If you decide to participate in the challenge, make sure to link up your project on the SOUS blog for a chance to win a great prize! And don't forget to take a look at what the other designers have come up with!

Everyday Life- Project Life

This week the challenge at SOUS for Project Life was to use twine on your layout. I love these little challenges because they are a good reminder to use that product that you have laying around.  I used the twine in a couple of different ways. I tied some onto a letter in my title. I used some on a tag and I wrapped some around a card. I also tied a little bow and put it behind my flower. Such a versatile little product!

Pop on over to the SOUS blog to see how everyone else used their twine. Remember that we are offering a monthly prize to one of our challenge participants, so be sure to enter your layout. Have a great day everyone!

Calm Life- SOUS- Project Life

Today at SOUS, the Project Life Challenge was to use a Quote Card! There are so many freebies available these days that you won't have far to look to find one to use on your spread. I had saved this one on my computer, but sadly don't know where I got it from otherwise I'd like to give a link as to where to find it.

The quote says...It's okay to be happy with a calm life. Sometimes, that's just the way I like and the ordinary things in life can add to that calmness and peace in your everyday.

Hope you get a chance to pop on over to the SOUS blog and enter your project for a chance to win a great prize at the end of the month!

Project Life- SOUS

Happy Summer Everyone! Hope you're having fantastic weather and enjoying the outdoors as much as I am! This week at SOUS our Project Life Challenge is do a spread about Summer! Well, this is pretty easy seeing as we spend a lot of time outside and at the lake during the summer months. Some days at the lake are just lazy days. We spend time on the deck laying around, reading, talking and just soaking up some sun.

I am taking a Silhouette class and I made the little Polaroid Summer Frame that I tucked by the photo. One day soon, I'm going to learn how to share these with you all!

Remember that SOUS is offering a great monthly prize to one of our challenge participants, so be sure to enter your project on our blog!

Buttons! Buttons!

Today over at SOUS the Project Life Challenge was to use buttons on your spread! Who doesn't have tons of buttons in their stash? I know I do and in every color imaginable!

This weeks spread includes a lunch date with Mariel at DQ! How romantic! LOL! I put in a text conversation that I had with Renee. I was abit stumped at first because the screen shots on the iPhone come out as png files and I needed jpegs. Well, Paint to the rescue! So for anyone who needs to, converting photos to different files in Paint is a really easy, super fast thing to do. Glad I found that out! I also included a couple of photos of the grandkids playing at our house. It was so funny. I had gone out to buy them toys and lots of bubble things to play with because we didn't seem to have many outdoor toys. When they were leaving, they nicely clutched them all in their hands and took them home! Guess grandma has to go shopping again! LOL!

So anyways, pop on over to the SOUS blog to see the other projects with buttons and to enter your own project for a chance at a great prize this month!

Happy Easter? Project Life Catch Up!

Well, yes it's June and I'm working on Easter for my Project Life. I got quite far behind there for awhile! Work got in the way! LOL! The other thing that happened was that I didn't take many photos in April! Thank goodness there was Easter or it would have been a non-existent month for me. OOPS! Oh well, sometimes these things just happen and there's not much we can do about it except try to be more diligent the next month. Anyways, this week at SOUS, our challenge was to use stickles/glitter on our spread. This worked out perfectly for my Easter page. I decorated the embellishments that I cut on my Silhouette with stickles and it sure added some fun sparkle. I also couldn't resist adding some glittery embellishments to the page too.

Head on over to the blog and enter your page in our challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize this month!

Smile- Project Life- SOUS

Today at SOUS, we have another great Project Life challenge for you! This week you are to add some texture to your spread. I did this by adding some chipboard pieces, a metal arrow brad and a wooden word that I stained yellow. Many of the embellishments today are a little thinner and they're great for PL as they don't add too much bulk. I'm still using the Becky Higgins cards, although I wish there were more 4x6 ones in the collections!

Be sure to pop on by the blog and give the challenge a try! You will be in the drawing for a fun prize at the end of the month if you do and might even be chosen for the Top 3!

Bring on the Yellow!

Today over at SOUS, the challenge is to use the color yellow! I used a lot of the yellow cards from my Becky Higgins collections as well as some random embellishments and tags that had some yellow on them! How I love to use up some of my stash. The thing that I find I"m really using lot's of is the little alphas from the sticker sheets of various collections. It seems I"m always missing the same letters though ( note to self...don't give your child a name with 3 e's in it when you're a scrapper...what was I thinking there?)

Hope you have a chance to dig out the yellow and give the challenge a try! Make sure to enter it for a chance to win an awesome prize this month!

Happy Birthday- SOUS reveal

This week's challenge at SOUS was to use stripes on your page. Lots of the Becky Higgins Project Life cards that I'm using have stripes on them, so this challenge was super easy to do!  The focus on this page was my birthday and what that meant in my life.

I turned 55 this month and it was one of those birthdays that I didn't really want to celebrate, but Mariel and the kids made it a great day for me. I got some beautiful flowers and a special Minion cake! The kids know how much I love minions! LOL!

Please come by the SOUS blog to check out the other PL pages using stripes and make sure to enter your own page for the great prize being offered  this month!

Take Note- SOUS-Project Life Reveal

Today over at SOUS, we have another fun challenge for your Project Life! This week you are to use a grid or ledger paper in your spread. This was pretty easy to do for me. I had purchased some of the Becky Higgins collections and they are filled with different grid cards. These cards are great for journaling on or just as a background for your photos.

This weeks spread is about Renee's Dance recital, our crazy little dog and her sunbeam obsession, some renovations taking place in our basement and a fun day that they had at the Boat and Sportsman Show.

SOUS is offering a fantastic prize to one of our lucky challenge participants this month, so hop on over there and enter your project for a chance to win!

Here's the Scoop!- SOUS Project Life Reveal

Today at SOUS, we have another Project Life Challenge! This week you are to use a Stamp! I always seem to forget about my stamps and this was a good reminder to get them out and start using them again. They can add lots of fun to your pages! Here is my page for the week!

All of words on the page come from a set of stamps that I had in my stash! Sorry, I don't know who makes them, but they sure are a fun set.  The set also had arrows and geotags too. I am using lots of the  Becky Higgins Project Life cards this year and just adding some of my own elements to them.

Remember that SOUS now is offering a monthly prize to one of our challenge participants, so make sure to get your entries in!

What's Up? - SOUS Project Life

This week at SOUS we are using top notes in our Project Life. I have used mine in two different ways on my layout. One way was to use it as a journaling block and the second was to use it as a base for  my Coach title.  Shapes such as these really add some interest and variety to your cards. I used some of the Becky Higgins Project Life cards to do this one, but I added some things to them like washi tape, stickers and of course the top notes.

I wanted to include once a month some journaling about what things are currently happening in my life and that's what the middle row is all about. Also documented on this page are an accident I had where I was rear ended and the end of Noah's soccer season. He was very happy with his medals!

Hope you can join in the challenge and remember there is a great prize being given to someone who participates! You don't want to miss out on that, so hop on over to the blog and see how everyone used their top notes and give it a go!

Happiness Is...SOUS Project Life Day

It's another Monday, which means another Project Life Day at SOUS! This week you have to use a butterfly on your cards.  I found a cute little glittery butterfly sticker in pink for my layout. Here is my page for this week...

We got to babysit the kids a couple of times and they even had a sleepover one weekend! I love having them over and getting to have fun with them! Of course, I can't resist snapping away with my camera and sometimes I'm able to catch just the sweetest things like Isla with her head on Noah's shoulder. They were sitting together and he was feeding her snacks! LOL! So cute!

Monster Mini Golf- SOUS PL reveal

It was safe to say that I got a little excited when I saw that the challenge for this week at SOUS was to use Neon in your layout! I had just the perfect photos for this. We had all gone Monster Mini Golfing on the Family Day long weekend in February and the photos had all kinds of neon colors in them. I quickly dug out some Neon cardstock and got to work. I had found these cute little monsters at the Silhouette Store and this was the perfect time to use them! I added some little googly eyes ( love those things...they make me a little giddy lol) and presto...Monsters!

Noah was so cute before we went. He kept saying, "Grandma, you don't have to be scared. They are just pretend and I will protect you." Aww, that melted my heart! He even offered to hold my hand just in case I did get scared! What a total sweetie! Isla was adorable too. The mini golf is glow in the dark and she was abit scared when we first got there. Chantal showed her how to golf and it wasn't long before she was swinging that club. She would go and pick up her ball and put it in the hole and then to help everyone else out, she'd pick up their ball and put it in the hole! That's my kind of golfer! LOL!  Anyways, a totally fun day out with the family!

A little tip I'd like to share with you that I've been doing a lot of these days is instead of using adhesives for my PL, I"ve been using Washi Tape and staples to adhere the photos on. Adhesives can get very expensive when you're using tons of them, so finding different ways of adhering photos and embellishments always interests me.

Come on by the SOUS blog and check out the other PL pages! Remember that we have a great prize for one lucky winner of our challenges! So join in the fun!

Do More Things I Love- Project Life

This week at SOUS the Project Life Challenge was to use a Pocket and a Card. I cut a library pocket out with my Silhouette and then found one of the Becky Higgins cards that looked like a library card to do my journaling on. On it, I wrote one of my favourite childhood memories, which is of my dad who used to take me to the library as a child. I remember standing there thinking I wanted to read all of the books and picking just a few was such a strain! My dad was very patient with me though and let me take my time picking which ones I wanted. I tried to get enough to last me for a few weeks, but inevitably I'd have to go again before the time was up. He would get in the car and drive me back and never complain about it. Luckily, the library was pretty close to us. My spread also focuses on doing more of the things that make me happy. Too often, I think we get caught up in life and all that goes with it and forget to make time for some fun. I was telling my husband the other day that I need more hours in the day in order to have time for all my hobbies. His solution was to give up some of my hobbies!  WHAT????? How on earth could someone even imagine this???? Anyways, here's my Project Life for this week.....

Remember SOUS now has a great monthly prize, so make sure to enter the challenges on the blog for a chance to win! Thanks for stopping by!
