Melt My Heart - New Sami Stamps Release!!

Happy New Year!!
It's good to be back to work...though I really enjoyed taking December off.  It was awesome having Matthew home with me for a few weeks where we could sleep in and veg out all day...ahh...loved it.

But life must go on and we are now back into the full swing of things.  And with that we have a super adorable new release today from Sami Stamps called Snowman Friends!  We're also starting our January challenge to add some sparkle!  This one should be pretty easy since no card is complete without some shine!
I'm still trying to shake the cobwebs out of my brain to help get my creativity flowing, so decided to keep this card nice and simple with a fun blended background and a simple colored image.  I used the Frost and Whiskars image for my card today (of course!  I can't resist Sami's kitty images...they're my weakness..)

For the coloring, I pulled out my brand new Prismacolor pencils that Matthew got me!!  They are luscious...and might take me a little bit to get used to.  But I'm excited to play around with them a bit more and see all the wonderful things they can do!

To finish off the card, I added some little sparkly snowflake dots around the snowman as well as along the snow hills, and then scattered some sequins across the background.

I hope you'll stop by Sami Stamps and join in our Sparkle challenge!  Just remember to use a Sami Stamps image!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    Creative Fingers #122
    Paper Sweeties Snowman Photo Inspiration
Simon Says Stamp-New Something (new pencils, new image to color!)
    Word Art Wednesday #264-Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting! <3

Good Friends - Sami Stamps Release Reminder

Happy Happy Friday!!!
This has been a stressful week for me.  Lots of stuff running through my brain and changes I'm trying to work on.  It's a little overwhelming and sometimes I want to just curl up on the couch and quit, but I love this job too much to give up.  But at least it will be the weekend soon and I can spend some time cuddling my hubby :)

I spent a little time this week working on a card using one of the newest Sami Stamps release images.  It's also the last week for our current challenge - Add Sparkle - and the last week for you to purchase at least $4 in stamps from Sami Stamps and be entered into a drawing to win %15 off every order you place in 2016.  Sounds like a great deal, so don't miss out!!

For my card, I've used the super cute Winter Sweater image.
While thinking up a layout for this card, I decided I wanted to do some sort of simple design in the background.  I love to come up with my own backgrounds and designs, so this was the perfect opportunity for that!  Since it is a winter image, something swirly would work well!  I created a cut file in my Silhouette software and then changed the line style to a dash.  I loved the swirl design, but wanted it to just be the pattern on the paper, not an actual cutout and I thought the dash would be cute.

I wanted to highlight that pattern a little but wasn't sure what ink would do, so I started super light.  I think because the Silhouette is just a blade that cuts the paper, instead of like a die that presses into and cuts the paper, those little dashes are raised just a little and catch more of the ink.  So a super light pass actually highlighted them perfectly!  So I left it like that and moved on to my image.

I printed it off twice so that I could cut out the sweet girl and layer her onto the inked up background.  I used my ShinHan markers to color her and added a ton of shimmer to her scarf and hand mitt thing.  There is also a bunch of sparkle on the snowflakes in the sky and on the background.

The sentiment is from My Cat's Pajamas, and I've heat embossed it in Liquid Platinum onto some sparkle vellum.  A few sequins scattered around the card, and it was done!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    AAA Cards #56-Winter Wonderland
Addicted to Stamps #177-Make Your Mark
Crafty Catz #308-Girls Just Want to Have Fun
    Sketch Saturday #395

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a fabulous weekend! <3

3 Cheers For You!

Hi everyone!  Happy Tuesday!
We have a fun new challenge for you at Tuesday Throwdown this week - Sports Fan!  Perfect for this time of year, right? :)

Our sponsor this week is MyGrafico and they provided us with some super cute images to use on our projects.
I struggled to get this card put together.  The ice skating deer were super cute, but sports fan to me just screams something else...but I pushed myself and finally got something put together at the last minute.

Maybe my issue is that it's another winter card and I'm just not ready for those yet.  I haven't really even done any Halloween cards!  Those have to come first!  But at the same time, inking up this gorgeous wintery sky for this card was super fun and kind of started to get me more in the mood.  It will take a little bit, but I'm getting there :)

So I started by inking up my background with some distress inks to create a gorgeous bright winter sky.  Then I dabbed some white pigment ink over the very top to try and mimic clouds.  It didn't turn out quite like I wanted but it's still cool.  Then I added some embossing paste through the Winnie & Walter Scenery: Big Bang Circle Creative Screen to get my snowflakes.  I didn't put them all the way to the top because, again, there's supposed to be the look of clouds up there...oh well.  It's still gorgeous.

I printed off my image and colored it in with my pencils.  Then added foam adhesive to the back and stuck it to my Stitched Rectangle vellum die cut from Lawn Fawn and added it to my card.

The finishing touch was a big white sparkly snowflake and a few little snowflake embellishments.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    613 Avenue Create #144-Anything Goes/Pink
    Chocolate Coffee Cards #101-Animals
    Crafts 4 Eternity #246-Woodland

I hope you stop by and join in this fun challenge!  Thanks for visiting! <3

Thanks From The Heart

Hello!!
I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!!  I'm still visiting family in Michigan, but scheduled this post so that you could see another one of the adorable new images from Sami Stamps!

This card features the Frosty Love image:
I adore this cute snowman!  The hearts hanging from his (or hers?) limbs are so perfect, and make it easy to use this image for occasions other than winter or Christmas!  That's what I decided to do for my card.  I went with a more lovey/thanks type card.  A few days ago, I saw a post from Sandy Allnock with a pink winter sky background...how awesome!  I had to give it a try and this card seemed perfect for that.

I went with black and pink, not sure why, but they just looked so good together.  I inked up my sky background in some softer colors.  I didn't want it to be harsh and dark but soft and lovely :)

Once I printed out and colored up my image, I trimmed around it and mounted it onto the inked up background, which I drew some little hearts onto for fun :)  I stamped the simple little "thanks" along the bottom of his belly and then heat embossed the rest of the sentiment underneath.  Glossy accents were added to the hearts and his eyes for some shine, and that was it!!

Love love love this new release from Sami Stamps!!  Go check it out!

Thanks for visiting! <3

Chubby Snowman

Happy Friday!
I hope everyone has had a lovely week!  We are off on our Christmas vacation to Michigan!  Going to be a busy week, but it will be nice to be with family for the holiday.

We have yet another amazing release from Sami Stamps today!  They just keep getting better and better!  This week is all about our favorite winter friend-Snowmen!!

I chose to use the Chubby Frost image for my card:
He's just so cute and round, I couldn't help but snag him up.  I went with traditional Christmas colors for my card.  Seems I haven't done many of those yet...been using a lot of blue for my Christmas cards...so it felt nice to put these colors together again.

The whole card is very simple...I've been running around like a mad woman trying to get everything ready for us to leave, and had a trillion other cards to get done as well...but I still love how it turned out!  I added a few vellum snowflakes around the top with a sequin and gem in the center for some sparkle.

This chubby guy looked like he needed to be holding a banner.  So I stamped out a sentiment on vellum again, cuz I didn't want to cover him up, and glued it across the span of his twig arms.  Finished it all off with some glitter on his hat and glossy accents on his buttons and eyes!!

Be sure to visit Sami Stamps to check out this adorable release and to see the other Amazing DT creations!  I'll have another scheduled post next Friday to show another one of the images from this release, so don't forgot to stop by!!

Merry Christmas! <3

Thanks For All You Do

Hey everyone!
Time for a new challenge at Meljen's Designs!  This weeks theme is Thank You.  Since I opened the gates on the Christmas cards yesterday, I figured I should keep with that theme a bit.  The Christmas type supplies have been sitting on my desk for weeks now, and my little pile of completed Christmas cards grows a little more each day, but I held off sharing them just because I wasn't ready for that season to be here yet.

But with the snow on the ground and the wind so cold your blood freezes...I figured it was time.  So for my card this week, I kept with the feeling of the holidays.
I used this super adorable image from Meljen's Designs called Cozy Little Chickadees.  I just adore this image.  They are so cute and snug together...and who can resist Chickadees!  The image has been colored in with my ShinHan markers and cut out with an oval die.  For the little snow piles on the branch, I "painted" on some embossing paste and covered it with some sparkly embossing powder before heat setting it so that it bubbled just a little.  It adds some fun texture and shine to the whole image.

Overall, this card is pretty simple.  The poinsettia came together super quick.  I just had to sit around and wait for it to completely dry before I could add it to my card.  I coated the strands of twine with some star dust stickles as well...so more waiting for that to dry.  Took quite a while, but in the end was totally worth it all!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps and More #122-Make Your Mark
Crafting When We Can #82-Use Your Markers
    Divas by Design-Let it Snow
Fussy and Fancy #127-Pairs or Two of a Kind
    Penny's Paper Crafty #204-Anything Goes

Be sure to swing by Meljen's Designs and join in our fun challenge!  Remember you don't have to use a Meljen's image, but you get a double entry if you do!!  Oh and don't forget about their sale!  You can read all about it in my post here.

Harvest Snowman

Happy Thursday!!!
I know it's still been super quiet around here even though I keep saying I'll be back...it's been hard to get things created lately.  While I have the drive to get stuff done, the ideas and inspiration just don't seem to be popping out of my head.  I've been busy!  Just not with cards to share with you...other than my design team works, because I love using images from my design teams :)

So today is the start of a new challenge at Meljen's Designs.  They have the most adorable images to use, and there is always one that works perfect for every situation!  Well our challenge is a fall photo inspiration with some super bright fall colors!  Not the typical fall colors you'd think, but still so beautiful.  I really wanted to try and match them as best I could, not sure I succeeded but I'm close :)
Even though the challenge is for bright fall colors, I figured since my family in MI received some snow this week, and we are expecting some of the white stuff over the next few days, that I'd through in a snowman on my card.

Like I said before, Meljen's Designs seems to always have the perfect image for everything, and this time is no different!  How perfect is that Harvest Snowman?  He's fall and winter together!  Love it!!

I also tried something a little different with him this time.  Since I had taken the colors from the inspiration photo (below) and did a watercolor wash for the background with them, I wanted to watercolor the snowman as well.  But trying to watercolor an image that has been printed never really works for me because my printer ink bleeds really bad with the water.  But since watercolor paper is a little thicker, I thought maybe the ink would stay wet enough after printing to be able to emboss it.

So I got all my supplies ready right on top of the printer so I could do everything as soon as the paper was spit out.  I sized up my image, stuck in my watercolor paper and printed.  It looked pretty dry when I pulled it out of the printer, which had me worried, but I poured on the clear embossing powder anyway.   And it worked!!  The whole image was coated with embossing powder!!  Ahhh...now I can paint it :)

My only tip would be to probably use black embossing powder instead of clear though...the embossing powder melts a little bit off of the printed line, so some of the paper underneath shows through the watercolor.  Maybe that wouldn't be there if it was embossed in black.

Anyhow!!  I painted up my snowman, added a piece of vellum over my watercolored background to really tone it down, cuz it was quite bright.  I embossed my simple "Thank You" sentiment and added lots of enamel dots and gems around the snowman.  Super cute!!!

So join in the fun this week with our awesome Autumn Brights color inspiration photo!!

Happy Snowman - Sami Stamps Halloween Deals!!

Happy Friday!  And Happy Halloween!
It has been a busy week here in my little apartment.  I always love to spoil the group that Matthew works with during the holidays, and sometimes just because.  They work so hard, they deserve a treat.  So I've been busy baking up a couple hundred cookies for them to enjoy today!  Don't get me wrong, other than crafting, baking is the next best activity that relaxes me.  I could bake all day, ever day.  But standing on my feet that long, and frosting that many cookies...oy...that was a lot of work :)
It's all worth it though because I know they are grateful, and will totally devour those tins of cookies :)

Today is usually a new release day at Sami Stamps, but instead Sami has decided to do something a little different.  She allowed each of us on the design team to select an image from a past release to use on our projects, and for today only (Friday Oct. 31) those images we selected are available for $1.50 each!!  What an awesome deal!

She is also running a limited time sale of 35% off, so don't miss out!  Run over there now and grab some stamps!!

So for my card, I decided to go wintery...I know I know...I've been dreading the change in seasons and holidays...I've tried so hard to avoid making Christmas cards until now, but they just keep creeping onto my to-do list.  While this card isn't Christmasy necessarily...it's close.
I do adore this image.  And the card turned out super cute too.  Ok, I love it! :)
I've used the My Snowey Friend image and colored it all in with my markers.  Then I trimmed around each image individually so that I could position them correctly on my card.

For the background, I laid down a few colors of distress ink to make a soft snowy blue sky.  I wanted some dimension and depth to my snowflakes, so I used 2 stencils over the distress inks.  The first one I used is a dots background that looks like falling snow.  I laid that over my background and then used a baby wipe to blot up some of the ink.  It fades it out just enough so the snowflakes look like they are in the background.  I could have misted it and then dabbed up the water, but I didn't want the water to seep under the stencil.

Then I placed a new stencil from Memory Box called Tiny Snowflakes over the background, secured it down and applied some texture paste over top.  Once I peeled the stencil up, I coated the whole thing with some sparkly embossing powder and heated it all up.  Applying the heat helped the texture paste bubble really well so it adds some fun dimension to the flakes.

I die cut out a few hills from the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio set and coated them with the same glitter embossing powder.  Then added my image.  I wanted there to be snowflakes in front of them as well, so once the snowman and little kid were added, I replaced the stencil and added a few more snowflakes with the texture paste, following the same steps as the background.
This card is just so adorable!  I love this sweet image and all the soft wintery blues are really helping to get me into the winter/Christmas mood.  Maybe I will get started on some Christmas cards this week :)

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
    Card Mania #58-Buttons
    DigiStamps4Joy #103-Anything Goes
    Divas by Design-Anything Goes
    Simon Says Stamp-Anything Goes

Bring Your Own Sunshine

Happy Monday!
Suddenly winter decided to show up again!  It's ok, I like the fresh blanket of snow to cover up all the yucky old stuff.  Makes it pretty outside again :)

And it's perfect to go along with our new challenge at Digi Makeover, which is to use Snowflakes on your project!!
I've been trying out some different photo locations...that's why my pictures have looked different lately.  For Christmas, my father-in-law made me this amazing craft cabinet (I'll share it with you once I get it filled) and I really want to feature it in my card pictures.  So I've been trying it out a little, and while it has mostly worked, because it's so dark, it leaves my pictures looking pretty dark as well...so not sure how to fix that.  But I tried taking my picture today on top of the cabinet instead, with my ink pad rack behind.  Worked ok for now :)

Anyhow, back to the card!  I used an awesome sentiment from the Raindrops and Rainbows set.  It just says so much and I really wanted it to be front and center.
We took a little day trip down to Burlington, VT on Saturday just to get away, do some shopping and of course visit the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory.  While down there, we stopped in to Michael's and I picked up these super cute sparkly snowflakes that were perfect to add to this card!  It's chilly, but still full of life!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Makeup Artists incredible snowflake creations, and then join in the fun!!!  We'd love to see your creations!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Winter Love

Happy Friday!!  Has anyone else had a rough time getting going this week?  We sure have!  Man...that alarm clock is like nails on a chalkboard at 5:45 in the morning and the only thing we've wanted to do is sleep right through it (and we kind of have...who really wants to leave a nice warm bed at that time of the morning?)

Maybe next week will be a little easier :)

But, because I was majorly sick last week, I didn't have the strength to join in the re-release of Sami's winter images!  So I pulled myself together and worked up a card for this week using the Winter Romance image.
I went with a non-winter color scheme for it :)  I just loved the purple and dark brown together.  I used a new Spellbinders die for the frame around the image and embossed the background with my Swiss Dots folder to help pull the dot theme from around the image into the rest of the card.

It turned out so adorable!  I just love it!

We also have a new challenge going this month at Sami Stamps, and it's an easy one for ya-Anything Goes!  Just be sure to use a Sami Stamps image to join in the fun!!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Snow Angel

Happy Monday!
We're starting a new challenge today at Digi Makeover and it's Snow Fun!  Which is perfect since now it's finally snowing here in Montreal!
I used the Henry image, though I can't find him in the shop right now to be able to give you a link...sorry.

I colored him in with my pencils and added a bunch of glitter around the angel "wings."  I had picked up these fun sparkly snowflakes at Michael's today and decided they would work well on this snowy card.

Then I just added a circle sentiment and scallop cut around it to finish off the card.  Pretty simple...it was super late when I made this card and my energy was running a bit low.. :(

I hope you will join us this week in this fun challenge!!
Thanks for stopping by! <3

Happy Winter

Well, while we haven't really seen any snow fall here in Montreal yet, winter is definitely here.  Other than this past weekend, it's been below freezing pretty consistently.  Just wish the gorgeous white stuff would start flying.

Our new challenge starting today at Tuesday Throwdown is Snowbirds!  I always love watching the birds flutter around in the snow.  I remember when I was younger, trudging out in waist high snow to fill the bird feeders and waiting patiently with a hand full of bird seed to see if one of them would hop down and eat from my hand.  It didn't happen very often, but it was so exciting when it did!

The sponsor for this week is MyGrafico.  They always provide us with such adorable images, and this week is no exception.
I just love this cute little penguin in his hat and scarf.  My original plan was to include an igloo behind him and have a couple more birdies in the scene, but it didn't fit too well together so I just stuck with the one.  I clear embossed the snowflakes and then used some cotton balls with my ink pads to shade out the sky.  Cut a few snow drifts and covered the edges with some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

I hope you will join us this week for our Snowbirds challenge!!  Be sure to check out the rest of the design teams creations, they are adorable!!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Flakes

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  We did a whole lot of nothing, which is always nice!  Still trying to get over this head cold that has plagued us both for a few weeks now...not fun at all!

Before I get to my DT creation, I wanted to remind you of the different ways you can follow my little blog here!  You can follow on Facebook, Bloglovin, via the little Google Friend Connect option over there on the right, or you can follow my Pinterest page!  I'd love to have you stick around!!

So on to my creation for this week.  Our new challenge starting today at Paper Makeup is to Use Your Scraps!  Yes!!  Who doesn't have a mile high pile of scraps to use up?  I know I do!  I try and try to use them up but somehow I always end up making more!
I figured since snow season is right around the corner, that I'd make something appropriate for that.  I have all sorts of snowflake paper scraps so I decided to try and make a little gradual snowfall scene.  I used the darkest snowflake paper on top and then gradually lightened it up as the snow fell.  I cut out a few snow drifts and inked them with some blue ink.  It's a little darker than I wanted, but it's about the only blue ink pad I have that still works well enough for this.  So I rolled with it :)

I printed off my snowman from the Snow Happy set from Paper Makeup and colored him in with my colored pencils.  I also printed off the fun sentiment - All my friends are flakes - and cut that out in a scallop frame.

To help tie in the orangish yellow on his scarf, I used some orange twine across the top and made a bow to tuck the sentiment under.  I finished everything off with a few touches of my new Wink of Stella glitter pen so things sparkled :)

Such a fun card!  I hope you will join us this week!  Pull out your scraps and use a digi on your project!!  Can't wait to see what you create!! Oh and while your at the challenge blog, welcome our new teammate Marsha!!  So happy she has joined us!! <3

Walkin in a Winter Wonderland

Happy Monday!!
How was your weekend?  Pretty calm here for us.  Warm...rainy...not very wintery at all.  We still have snow but it isn't very pretty anymore...hopefully more will come this week :)

We start a new challenge today at Digi Makeover and it's Winter Wonderland!!  With it being so warm, it was kind of hard to find the spirit to make a snow card...but my hubby was quite helpful in that area today.  He was full of suggestions and inspiration :)  Love that man <3
For my card I used the cute image Cosette from Paper Makeup.  My imagination roamed once I saw her.  I imagine she's holding a steaming cup of hot chocolate, which helps to warm her hands, and is enjoying a gorgeous walk through the new freshly fallen snow drifts in her backyard.  Reminds me of when I was younger and would try to write out messages in the snow for my mom to read from the kitchen window :)

I colored her in with my colored pencils and added stickles to her wings.
The edges are inked with some Copic markers and then distressed with my scissors.  I tore the edges of the snowflake paper behind the image to give a little different texture to the card.

The layered "drifts" of snow are edged with stickles.  For Christmas I got a variety pack of Pearl Ex so I have been playing around with making shimmer mists.  I used one of them to spray the background paper and the snow drifts so that they shimmered.  It's really hard to see in the pictures but looks fabulous in person :)
Thank you so much for checking out my card!  Be sure to visit the rest of the Makeup Artists as they have made some gorgeous creations this week!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Snowmies

Happy Thursday!
I wanted to stop in quick today and share with you a card that I have been working on.  With all the snow we have been getting lately, I've just really been in the winter mood and this was the perfect card to make.
This card turned out so cute!  I started with the Snowmies image from Whimsie Doodles.  I just purchased this image on their black friday sale and I absolutely love it!  I paper pieced the scarves together on the snowmen and colored in the rest of the elements with my colored pencils.  There is glossy accents added to the berries and all their buttons.

The next image I used was the background fence and tree image...unfortunately I don't remember where I got that image from...but I think it looks perfect behind the snowmen!  Colored in with my pencils as well :)

Then the clouds were a freebie image from Shelly's Images.  I cut out all the little snowflakes and stuck them around the snowman.

I'm really proud of this little winter scene that I've made :)  It's so fun finding images that can be used together!
The little rosette in the corner is made from a strip of paper that I punched using my MS Doily Lace edge punch.  I added a small snowflake button to the center and flagged the sentiment that came with the Snowmies image.

Once everything was put together, I added a bunch of white paint for snow detailing around the tree branches, the fence, and the ground and then covered it all with glitter.  Lots of fun sparkle on this card!!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
    2 Sisters #119-Winter Wonderland

Snow Happy

Hello all and happy Monday!!
I hope everyone in the states had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend!  Even though we are in Canada, we were still able to have some friends over to enjoy a large ham dinner with us :)

So now it's time to start a new challenge at Digi Makeover and this week we want to see your Christmas/Holiday cards!  Nice and easy :)

Over the weekend we were delighted to finally see the snowflakes flying through the air!  I just love snow and I can't wait for it to really hit us :)  That put me in a snowman kind of mood so that's what I used on my card.
I used one of the snowmen from the Snow Happy set at Paper Makeup.  He was so cute, I had to use him :)  The snowflakes are little buttons that I have had forever!  I snipped off the button loop on the back and then covered them in glitter.

It's a very simple card, but I love all the snowflakes and blues.  It makes it really feel like winter :)

I hope you will stop by and play with us this week at Digi Makeover!  The only requirement is that you use a digi! Also be sure to stop by the rest of the makeup artists blogs as they have made some wonderful creations this week!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Snowflakes

Good evening everyone :)
After cleaning the apartment today, I wasted took a lot of time and browsed around on the internet.  I looked at some of the blogs that I follow for inspiration.  I checked challenges.  I browsed Pinterest and explored the BodyRock website in hopes to find some motivation to start following their videos (soon :) )
Finally I just went back to my desk and stared at my supplies, willing something to form in my brain.  And form it did!  I don't normally do tags...they aren't my focus and I never know what to do with them once they are finished...but I really wanted to try.  And what better image to use than my beloved Saturated Canary?? :)
There is a good chance that I own 90% of the images available in her store :)  I sifted through them, trying to decide which image would work best on a tag, something general enough that it could be Christmas, but not too Christmas themed so it could be versatile...does that make sense?

So I chose Jules!  Just love this image with the cute little kitty tucked in her arms and that big swirly hair!  So adorable.
I dug into my stash and found this absolutely gorgeous snowflake paper that I have had for oh-so-long..I think I loved it so much I never wanted it to get used up :)
I decided to stick with a blue/white/silver theme with just a few touches of red to bring in some holiday spirit.  I found a few small scraps of glitter paper in the bottom of my cardstock folders and used those as backdrop panels.  The silver mesh I picked up at the dollar store the other day and I absolutely love it!  Took me a little bit to figure out how to adhere it to the tag...not used to using things that I can't put double sided tape on:)
I layered on top of the mesh a strip of swirly ribbon.

The snowflake frame is a gorgeous image I found online and I turned it into a cut file for my Cameo, and it cut out beautifully!!  I was so happy when it turned out.  I was a little afraid, there are some really tiny cuts in there, but they weren't a problem at all!  My skills with the Cameo are improving!! Yay :)
So I cut out the frame and added a dark blue oval behind it.  Then I covered the snowflakes in glossy accents and sprinkled some chunky glitter over top so they have sort of a frosty look.  It's hard to see in the pics, but looks really cool in person.

I colored Jules in with my colored pencils and added some red stickles to her spots and stripes.  Then I added a large bow and put a plastic snowflake in the middle (also a dollar store find!).

The final touch was punching the hole at the top, adding the ribbon and covering up the staple with another plastic snowflake.

I just love the way this tag turned out.  It's so sparkly and really has that snowy winter feel to it.  And it's just gorgeous :)

I'm entering this tag in the following challenges:

Twilight Christmas :)

Happy Thursday!!  Only one more day till the weekend!!  Woot woot!
I'd like to welcome all of my new followers, both on GFC and Facebook!  I'm so glad you are here!  I hope you will stick around and enjoy the fun items I share with you here :)

I wanted to show off 2 cards today.
This first one popped into my head right after I purchased the image yesterday and I got right to work on it...though I had to reprint the image and try to color it again as the first round didn't set well with me :)

Now I try not to be obsessed with these movies...but I do get a little excited at the thought of watching them...just ask my hubby :)  So when I found my sentiment, it sort of seemed perfect to go with the image...there are always moments where I feel this way.
This image is My Twilight Mama from Saturated Canary.  Honestly, I'm surprised it took me this long to purchase this image...I love it so much!  And it cracks me up...the over excited mom with the totally embarrassed daughter...how many times will you see this once the last movie comes out in a few weeks?  Lol...

I've colored the image in with my colored pencils...though I'm starting to get the itch to upgrade to markers...my pencils keep breaking and won't sharpen very well and it's just ticking me off...I might just have to make the leap into markers :)

I distressed all the edges with my scissors, and then printed off the sentiment and scallop cut around it.  Pretty simple, but I love it :)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
    Challenges 4 Everybody #5-Anything Goes
One Stitch at a Time #136-Use a Digi
    One Stop Craft #201-Anything Goes
    Sketch Sunday #170

My next card is geared toward the holidays/coming winter.  I purchased this image a few weeks ago after seeing a few adorable cards featuring it..new I had to use it :)
I love light blue...I never seem to have enough paper of that color :)
Anyhow, I colored in my image (Inky Critters from Tiddly Inks) and then scallop cut around it.  Wrapped a few ribbons around and behind the image and then printed and flagged a sentiment under the bow.
The snowflakes are punched out and then covered in light blue stickles.  I added a clear gem to the centers as well.

I like that each square can be used individually, or all of them together...gives the whole thing diversity and lots of options for layouts :)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
ABC Christmas-U for Up to You
    The Crafty Pad #193-Use Animals
    Fab 'n' Funky #144-Animals
    PanPastel #41-Animals

Winter Kisses

Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend!  Mine involved lots of chocolate tea and games with my hubby :)

We start a new challenge this week at the Digi Makeover challenge and it's Weather Report!  Show us your rain, snow, clouds or sunshine!  We've sort of had it all here in Montreal lately...but I love the cooler weather.  My husband and I took a nice long walk around the neighborhood late last night and the crisp air felt so good in my lungs.  Of course, it's suppose to warm up a bit this week...but that's ok :)  Fall is here to stay and winter will be following close behind.

Here is my card for this week:
Now I realized after completing this card that the layout is almost completely identical to the card I made for last weeks challenge....hmm....not having my craft room/cricut has really put a damper on my creative mojo.  I thought I would get to move back in there last week but there is still sanding to do on the wall and I don't want dry wall dust all over my supplies...so I'm still at the kitchen table for a few more days... :)

The image I used for this card is Hayden Fairy.  I thought she was perfect for a weather challenge.  I colored her in with my colored pencils and added some stickles to her wings and snowflakes.  The sentiment comes along with the image and I made it into a tab and stuck it under the image.

The bottom of the panel under the image has been cut to look like icicles.  I used a stencil and cut it out with my scissors, then covered it in light blue stickles.  Added a bow and a few glittery snowflakes and that was it!

I do hope you will join us this week for our weather challenge at Digi Makeover.  It's going to be a great challenge!

Also, be sure to check out my Christmas Giveaway happening now here!  I'm super excited about this giveaway!  I had a blast coming up with the gift package and hope that the winner will love them too :)

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

    Cute Card Thursday #239-Got Glitter
    Digital Tuesday #182-Warm and Fuzzy
    Sketch Saturday #230

Winter Snowman Banner

This is the project I mentioned in my post yesterday.  It is a snowflake "Winter" banner with snowmen!  The idea came to me as I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep a few days ago...that always seems to be the case.  I was so tired, but as soon as I started to think about the details, my mind just wouldn't shut off...
But I think it turned out so cute!
I cut everything out with my Cricut.  The snowmen on each letter are from the Snow Friends cartridge.  I love this cartridge!  Probably because I love snowmen :)
Banners aren't really something I make a lot of, but I wanted to try something new!  I also, for the first time, made rosettes!  Now those are fun!  They intimidated me when I first started seeing them around on projects.  I thought they would be difficult or I wouldn't have what I needed to make them stick together.  But wow...they were fun!  And so easy!
Instead of tying each snowflake together, I ran a single string of ribbon through rivets at the top and then added gems between the rivets to hold everything in place.  It added some bling without overtaking the whole banner!
Here's some up close pics:

This project is entered in the following challenges:
