Happy Friday!
Time for another awesome release at Sami Stamps! It's a little early, but let's be honest...everyone is thinking about Christmas right now. It can't be helped :) But that's what makes this next release so awesome! It's titled Noble Little King and is absolutely perfect!
I decided to try my hand at something new. It was a super challenge but in the end, I think it turned out pretty adorable! I used the Our Little King image and turned it into a pop up card! Or pop out...box card? Not sure what you call this :)
I started by inking up my background. I wasn't going for anything fancy, just something that could resemble a night sky. Once I had it all inked, I splattered it with water, dried the whole thing and then went back over it all with a second layer of ink. Then splattered it again with the water. This gave a lot of varied looks to the splatters and gave great texture for the sky. Then I worked on coloring my images.
I wanted to mimic the colors of the sky to give the whole card a nice flow, so I pulled out my colored pencils and gamsol. I wanted to use markers but the colors I have were just off or too bright and didn't match very well. The image is printed twice so that I could cut out sweet baby Jesus and pop Him onto His own layer.
Once everything was colored and cut out, it was time to assemble it all. That was the toughest part and I'm not even sure I could explain how I did it in a way that you'd understand. I folded up the sides of the background and laid each layer next to it in the alignment that I wanted. Then marked where the folds needed to be, folded down flaps and added adhesive. Getting the slots cut out correctly was the hardest part. Normally you just attach the flaps on the inside, but I wanted to hide them on the outside, so I needed to cut openings to slide everything through. Plus getting them lined up properly with each other and straight...lots of work.
But eventually, with the help of my T-ruler, I got everything cut straight and adhered down. I just cut little panels of white cardstock to adhere on the outside of everything to help cover up the ink spots that bled through from the background and the flaps from each pop up panel.
Remember we have an Add Dots challenge running through September, so pull out your Sami Stamps and join in for your chance to win!!!
Thanks for visiting! Have a great weekend! <3

Hey everyone!
I totally forgot it was Tuesday and that we are starting a new challenge today over at Tuesday Throwdown!! Whoops :)
With the holidays in full swing, it seems every card I make or project I think up involves glitter or sparkle of some sort. I try to clean up my desk and put everything away, and all the glitter bottles seem to just creep back out and stare at me. But it's okay! Christmas projects are meant to sparkle!
Which is perfect for our "Bling It On" challenge!!
Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish and they have provided some awesome images for the team to use! I chose the Angel Chorus image and printed it on vellum. I did that because I wanted to heat emboss the image with some sparkly powder and it wouldn't work on regular paper, but the printer ink stays nice and wet on vellum and gives me plenty of time to sprinkle the embossing powder on. All that sparkle is so perfect for this image.
I used my new Mama Elephant Borderlines Trio set again for this card. This scroll type die cut was the whole reason I chose to purchase this set, I just love it! Since the image is on vellum, I needed to add something behind it. So I chose some soft patterned paper that matched the elegance of this image perfectly and die cut them together. Then layered some burgundy cardstock behind it and die cut that as well so it gave a nice border.
The rest of the card was left really simple. I printed off a fitting sentiment from Doodle Pantry's Holiday Greetings set and layered that onto some ribbon. To finish it off, I added just a few clear gems around the sentiment. Not sure I'm sold on having those on the card yet, but they look nice anyhow.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafting When We Can #83-Clean and Simple
Creative Inspirations #291-Christmas
Fussy and Fancy #128-Holiday
Time Out #19-Embossing with Sparkle
Word Art Wednesday #160-Anything Goes
So be sure to stop by Tuesday Throwdown and join in the fun!!!
Thanks for visiting <3

Hello Everyone!
Today is my final post for the Clean and Simple One Layer Cards class, so I will be sharing several cards with you in this one post. These are mostly just the practice cards that I've made, at least the ones that turned out relatively okay for me to be comfortable enough showing them to you. They are far from perfect, each one has it's own problems that I need to work on, but they were still fun to make.
This first card is for the day 1 lessons-Letterpress and Layered Dies
The letterpress didn't work out too well with a white background...but overall the card is really cute. So I'll have to try it again with a darker background to see if it works better.
This second card is for the day 2 lesson-Stamp layering:
I used the only background stamp that I own for this card, which turned out a lot cooler that I thought. It's been sitting in my stamp bin for years and I've never touched it till now, but it is a super cool background, so I think I'll be reaching for it a bit more now. To add to the layered stamping, I used the backside of the sunflower stamps to make an shadow, then stamped the petal details in a slightly darker color.
This third card is also for day 2 but for scenic stamping:
Yes...this card has a lot of things wrong with it...to start, it has a huge border around the outside that is really bugging me! I did that because when I made the cityscape, I didn't put it all the way up against the edge, so figured I should continue the sky that way. But it looks horrible. The stars are overcrowded, and I should have masked off the sentiment somehow so that the stars would be above it as well, and it should be a different color so it would stand out a bit more...I love the shading of the sky though...at least that turned out :)
My final card for today was probably the most fun to make (I made 3 :) ) It's for day 4-Creative Coloring:
I had hoped that the markers would sort of bleed out around the shapes a little more so that the flowers had soft faded edges, but that didn't really happen. But it was super fun trying this out, and I can see using it a lot since it was so quick and easy to accomplish such a gorgeous card.
Well, that's it! You made it to the end :)
Thanks for stopping by to see my creations...the good and the bad :) <3

I have a confession...I'm terrible at making vintage styled cards...
It's a beautiful style, and I see so many other people completely rock it. But I just can't ever seem to wrap my head around how the style works and what goes with it..
So with this weeks Digi Makeover theme being Vintage...I knew I was going to struggle. But I gave it my best shot and I do like the card I've created...though it may not completely fit the vintage style.
I pulled out a few 6x6 paper pads that I've had for awhile that I felt had a vintage feel to them. These are the only small paper pads that I have...I can't quite get into purchasing those yet. I love using 12x12 papers for my cards. I can get multiple cards from 1 sheet and there's just a bit more variety to me...but at the same time the patterns on most 12x12 papers are so large that they look terrible on cards. Can't decide which way to go.
Anyhow! I used a few lighter colored papers from one of the pads that gave a vintage vibe. I inked the edges in green..which may not even fit with vintage..but I liked it. I pulled out a stripe of my Grandma Veldink's lace (which is definitely vintage by itself :) ) and wrapped that around the card on top of a scallop cut border.
Using my Silhouette, I cut out the cross from the square paper and outlined it with liquid pearls.
The sentiment is from the Be Still set from Paper Makeup Stamps. I printed it off and inked up the edges. Then lined it up with the lower corner of the cross.
That's it! Pretty simple! I do love this card though, even if it isn't the traditional vintage...whatever that may be :)
So come on! I know there are tons of you out there that can rock the vintage style! Make something up using a digi and link it up at Digi Makeover! We can't wait to see what you create!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations #55-Clean and Simple
Retro Sketches #77
Ruby's Rainbow #60-Vintage
Word Art Wednesday #93-Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by!! <3
