Canvas Texture

Last weekend, I was in KL and joined in a canvas class in Scrappingville. We did a canvas project with lots of texture techniques taught by Sharon. I didn't quite complete the canvas that day and brought it home to give it some finishing touches.

But I have to say that the best part of the class was the company. I love going down to KL and spend some time with creative friends where we just work away exchanging ideas and laughter. Basically having so much fun that 4 hours just flew by just like that.

Perfect Pearls Class Update

The Perfect Pearls class we had on Friday at Scrappingville was such a blast!! That was actually my first time teaching a class. Everyone did a splendid job on their projects and I am so happy that they all enjoyed themselves.

Picture time.... although by the time I thought of taking photos, a few of the ladies has already left.

And hey... look who dropped in to do a layout?

Thank you everyone for attending my class and for bringing along lots of creativity!!

Altered Apron

I had been meaning to show you the apron that I alter for the Scrapbook Showcase since I came back but had totally forgot about it. Each of the DTs were given a plain black apron to wear on that day and it was up to us if we want to add anything to the apron. I only had 2 busy days to do something about it so I did what I was good and quick at: beading. Here's my altered apron..

A close up

If you don't believe I did that... here's the proof :D

Me on the morning of the showcase still sewing away. The shot was taken by Intan of intanbaizura.com.

Some of the others also did beautiful work on their aprons. Michelle had a whole canvas on hers. Catherine sewed on an elaborate sequin work and stamped a few swirls on hers, Sharon has some pretty cloth flowers on hers and Nilla had some Prima flowers and a chipboard word on hers. Stunning work all of them!!

Oh and I must not forget, we were all given beautiful name tags specially made by Sharon. Here's mine..

Simply gorgeous!!

A Scrapbook Showcase - The Event

I had a real blast at Scrappingville's Scrapbook Showcase last Tuesday. Everything went smoothly and there were no hang-ups, I don't think so. To me, the best part was finally meeting all the other designers whose work I've been admiring at the shop and the best thing was, we all get along real well.

To Sharon and Yazmin, the backbone of Scrappingville: thank you for making me a part of the showcase and congratulations on the success of it.

To Diane and Minda, thank you for getting everything ready and for being there whenever we all need anything.

To Michelle, Sharon K, Catherine, Nilla, Thila, Sam and Anna: you guys rock!! It's an honour to be considered amongst the gurus.

Oh, and not forgetting, thank you to Nad for the support and being my photographer and sending me back so that I didn't have to walk in the rain, lugging all my stuff back... hehee!!

And now... pictures!!!

Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah trying her hands at card making.

Paper cupcakes that I made. These were a HIT!!

A Scrapbook Showcase

On the 26th of May 2009, SCRAPPINGVILLE will be celebrating its 2nd anniversary in business. In the spirit of celebration, SV will be having a Scrapbook Showcase. The first in Malaysia! There will be free makes and takes, a whole lot of project display and demonstration by designers. The most exciting of all is that the occasion will be graced by the appearance of Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd. Ali.

So do come over to Scrappingville's Scrapbook Showcase. It will be at the Concourse, Bangsar Shopping Centre, from 11am to 2pm. You'll get to meet other scrapbookers and Mixed Media artists, share some ideas and get inspired by the designers.

I am most honoured to have been invited to take part in the showcase and will be manning the Mini Album booth. If you are there for the celebration, do come and say 'hi' to me!!

Remember... a Scrapbook Showcase, Concourse BSC, 11am - 2pm, Scrappingville and free makes and takes!!!

Eid 2008

I made a clear album for Scrappingville from a kit that I received. It is a 6x6 album and I tried to use lots of paint and limit the embellishments so that the album was as "see thru" as possible.

I think the part that I'm most happy about this album is that I managed to keep the colour theme going which was red, black, white and gold with a touch of green here a there. Incidentally, those were also the colour theme for our family during Eid celebration.

Scotland Mini Album

This month I received a lovely kit from Scrappingville. One of the projects that I was to do was a mini album on travel. I had a really fun time making this album and I put a lot of work and effort and some love too in this one. And I'm proud to see the end result. I hope you like what you see.

Some details in the album

I love those tiny mirror cubes. I can't stop using them in the album!!

That flower center is actually a scarf pin which I bought at the William Wallace Monument gift shop while on my trip. I love that pin and was only too happy to be able to use it in this album.

Love this Maya Road postcard rub ons. Just so cute!!
