Beach Vacation Scrapbook Page

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 052 - Beach Vacation Theme. This weeks challenge was chosen by Kelly Hampton from our design team. Thanks Kelly as this gave the kick I needed to make a scrapbook page. I have been slacking up on scrappin'. This picture was taken at Carrabelle Beach in April with Jessie and Madison after they built their sand castle and Alana checking it out. We spent the day at the beach and cold as the water was them crazy grads of mine got in it anyway. Bbbbbrrrrr. Not me I layed on the beach soaking in some rays. I used some blue cs as my base and matted my photo on some red cs. The beach balls and sand buckets were printed on white then colored with copics and cut out. I popped one of the beach balls up on dimensionals. The sand castle on the bottom of the photo was colored with copics then I made some slits to slide the photo behind the castle. All images are from a digital set called Fun In The Sun from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE.
Now it is your turn to make something using a Beach Vacation Theme. Be sure to include THT052 in your keywords when you upload and then also provide a link in Mr.Linky on the Treehouse Thursday Blog Post. We would love to see what you make.
This also qualifies for the following challenges around the blog sites:

Sundays' Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Life's A Beach
Wednesday's Creative Inspiration - Beach Theme
Whimsical Wednesday Summer Inspirational photo
Tuesday's Stampavie & more Summer Challenge

Thanks for taking a look,

Sweet Childhood Memories

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 265 - Childhood Memories where we were to recall a childhood memory and be inspired by it to create. Well someone hold Shannon up when she sees this. I did a scrapbook page. GASP!! I never scrapbook bc I am soooo bad at it. When I do finally get the nerve to try I sometimes like what I come up but most of the time I file it in File # 13. Not this one. I love how this turned out.

OK, my memory as you can tell from the b/w pic is a cowgirl outfit I got for Christmas. I was 1 dressed up little Calamaty Jane. LOL. My Aunt Neva (yep that's where I got my name from) made this for me. I have another pic somewhere but could not put my hands on it where I am in front of the tree with my guns and hat on. That woman could sew ANYTHING. She made my wedding gown as well. She was more like a Mom than an Aunt in fact my girls called her "Granny Guy". I miss her so very much and wished she were with us today so that I could give her this page but I will give it to Shannon instead as I know she will cherish it forever. OK after I stop crying I have to go to work but thanks Holly for this wonderful challenge that forced me outside of my comfort zone and brought about something very special for me to pass on.

My image is from The Greeting Farm and she is called Cheeky Shooter. I colored her skin with copics but everthing else with prismacolor pencils then blended with gamsol. I cut her out and popped her up on white cs. I used my Star Cuttlebug Embossing Folder for the white strip and punched out a red and white star to pop up.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cheeky Shooter - TGF
Paper: white, red
Ink: black
Accessories: large & small star - SU, Star Embossing Folder
Techniques: Gamsol Magic, 3D, Dry Embossing

Diva Airline Around The World

These are for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Around the World. It has been quite some time since I did any scrapbooking. I found these 2 pictures in my stack from my 1st flight I took alone. I went to Nashville,TN for a convention and while I was there I got to go to the Rhyman Auditorium. Man was that fantastic. Such a memorable visit. The old Grand Ole Opry house, still looks fantastic. I got a window seat and took advantage of my camera and the view. I was amazed the 1st time I flew how much you could see from that high up. There were clouds above, below and some we went straight through. So exciting until we hit some turbulance. LOL. I used a gorgeous set from CLEAR AND SIMPLE STAMPS - Diva Airlines. Such a fantastic set for a travel page. Hope you like them.

Scrappin' Chehaw Summer Trip

Trying to work on one of my 2008 Goals to do more scrapbooking. These pictures are some I took at a trip to Chehaw Park last summer. It was a fun trip until I got to the swinging bridge. I am not at all fond of high places and I HATE bridges. Shannon, Danny and their children went also. These cheetahs were trying to find a cool spot to take a nap in. It was so hot. Jim Fowler from Wild Kindom years ago was there also with some hawks. I have pics of that to share later. The image is from Rubbernecker and stamped in Timber Brown stazon then colored w/Prisma Color pencils and blended w/Gamsol. The oval frames are stamped with Simply Circles in Brown.
RECIPE:Stamps: Simply Circles, Rubbernecker Safari Cub, Jounaling
Ink: Timber Brown Stazon, Old Olive
Techniques: Gamsol Magic
