A Lotus of Thanks

This is for today's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 564 - Make A Toast to 2016 where we were to use the cracked glass technique. My layout is from Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 573. My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 563 - Island Lagoons with Pizzazz. I was in a lull Monday thru Wednesday and just could not decided on what to make until today. I used soft sky on the solid image then stamped off last lagoon for #2 and inked again and stamped the 3rd image on top of the other images. I LOVE how it turned out. I stamped off with pear pizzazz for the solid stem then inked again and stamped the 2nd image on top.
For the inside I stamped the solid in soft sky very lightly then stamped the sentiment in island indigo over the flower image. I stamped the Thank You in island indigo on the front side of the envelope. Now off to work for a short day and to begin a long weekend. As we head into 2016 I pray that everyone will be safe and in good health all year. May God surround you and your families with a hedge of protection.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Lotus Blossom
Paper: white, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz DCWV - Cafe Mediterranean
Ink: soft sky, Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: ribbon, eyelet
Techniques: 3D, Cracked Glass

A Lotus for your Birthday

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 556 - Tempting Red Petals, for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 559 - A CASe In Point where I choose today to CASE my ROSE BIRTHDAY CARD and used a technique that I loved called TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE 551 - COLOR BLOCKING WITH CARD STOCK. This is also for Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 350 - To Grandma's House we go. I know nothing about my father's mother since I was 3 yrs old when my parents divorced and my mom moved us from Indiana to GA with her mother. She passed away when I was only 4 but I do remember everyone talking about how she could stick her thumb in a pot with dead flowers and bring them back to life so this is in the honor of those memories. I color blocked with primrose petals and real red cs the top layer of the flower and the HB sentiment. I embossed the tempting turquoise panel with Darice Brick Wall embossing folder.
I stamped the sentiments on the inside and envelope in tempting turquoise ink. I hope you like it and off to work I go. Have a blessed day everyone.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Birthday Greetings - Joanne's
Paper: white, tempting turquoise, Real red, primrose petals, wild wasabi
Ink: Tempting turquoise
Accessories: Lotus Blossom die, HB die, Cuttlebug, Brick Wall EF
Techniques: 3D, color blocking with card stock, CAS, dry embossing

Tart & Tangy Lotus Blossom Thank You

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 553 - Doodled dry embossing and today's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 344 - How About them Apples. This vision came to mind as soon as I saw the 2 challenges after trying twice to get some sleep. gggrrr. So I decided to make it so maybe it would be out of my head and sleep might follow. I used a small embossing folder of THANK YOU and embossed on real red cs then traced around with my white jel pen. I inked the image up using real red and garden green markers then huffed and stamped on white cs, cut with a curcle punch, doodled around the edge and popped it up on dimensionals.
On the inside of the card and the envelope I stamped the sentiment from Lotus Blossoms in real red. I will give this to one of our younger grands to give to a teacher.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Lotus Blossoms
Paper: white, real red
Ink: real red, garden green
Accessories: dimensionals, white jel pen
Techniques: dry embossing, doodled dry embossing, doodling
