A Hambo Halloween

This is for today's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 29 - Circles & Rectangles. WOW we get to play with 2 sketches in 1 week. Yipee.
This is also for today's SEW MANY CHALLENGES # 26 - Halloween Theme.
My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 287 - Concord Parfait Pizzazz.
How could anyone resist a Halloween theme challenge with these colors this week? Not me.
I used some images I have had for yrs from Hambo Stamps and cut around the witch hat and broom before trimming and embossing with Nesties Circles. I sponged some black around the witch panel and tea dye distressing ink around the cat image. My dp is retired SU ghostly Greeings Halloween dp. Hope you like it and have a fabulous Friday.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Hambo
Paper: white, pear pizzazz, Ghoustly Greeting dp
Ink: black, tea dye distressing ink
Accessories: ribbon, Nesties Circles

Rusty's Relaxation Technique

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 277 - Curry Bay Durangos. I love these colors together and had suggested them when these In Colors were 1st released. So glad they are being used. My layout is from MOJO MONDAY 145. I used a digital image from Hambo called "Fat Cat" and that is just what our Rusty was. He and Garfield would have gotten along great since they were both fat and mischief. Rusty used to love to hide around the entertainment center after all the lights were off and grab the girls as they ran back to their rooms after telling me goodnight. He knew they hated the dark. I just layed in the bed waiting for the SCREAMS and the "Rusty I'm gonna kill you" to come before trying to fall asleep. LOL. Well it would also be just like him to get on a float in the pool and cool off in the hot days of summer like this fat cat is doing.
I used a drink image I picked up in the dollar bin at Michaels and popped it up. The sentiment is stamped in dusty durango and is from Stampin' Up's Hope Happens set. I thought it fit quite niecely on here. The dp is from a glitter stack called "SUMMER". My images were colored with copics.
OK, so you know how some people just can not leave well enough alone? YEP! I am one of those people. I was talking to Shannon today and she made a suggestion that I did not think of. Anyway I had to come home and try her suggestion. I stamped the drink image in crushed curry on the bottom panel of crushed curry for a tone on tone. I love it. I also added some stickles to the drinks. Now the card that I made that I liked, I really like it. Hope you do too.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Hope Happens - SU, Fat Cat - Hambo, Drink
Paper: whtie, crushed curry, dusty durango, Summer DP
Ink: dusty durango, MomentoTuxedo Black,
Accessories: ribbon, dimensiona, copics, Nesties Circles

Scary Orange Spiders

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE - S.O.S.. My SOS is
S- Spiders, Scardy Cat, stickles, Scallop, Square
O- Orange pumpkin
S- Spooky theme, Satin Ribbon, shimerez

and since Shannon restricted me to 1 challenge yesturday and I lived through it I just had to come back to my normal multichallenges (see my tongue stickin out at her?). This is also for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE - Step Out of Your Box today I did watercoloring and many matted layers where I typically use copic coloring and rarely matt all the layers when there are 3 or more and I usually cheat by cutting the centers out if I do matt more than 2 layers so that the card does not weigh as much but today, no cheating for me. So not like me. I used Wednesday's SKETCH CHALLENGE for my layout and Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Crushed Black Razzleberries. I stamped my image in black on watercolor paper then colored with watercolor crayons. Then I painted on some shimmerz Gold on the pumpkin and filled the eyes and mouth section with stickles. I tied some black and yellow satin ribbon on panel 2 then popped up a Martha Stewart spider and my main panel. My image is from Hambo and the sentiment is from the dollar rack at Michaels from yrs ago. I love how this turned out and hope you do too.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Scardy Cat - Hambo
Paper: watercolor paper, black, Recollections - Halloween dp, Rich Razzleberry,
Ink: black brilliance
Accessories: Martha Stewart Spider, EK Success Bat Border, Extra Mega Scalloped Square punch. gold Shimmerez, Stickles, Ribbon, dimensionals

CASE of Tanking of You

This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER - TankGrl. Heather is a fantastic stamper to be featured, I love her gallery. I picked her A TANK U Card to CASE and changed the colors, layout somewhat and theme from Thank U to Thinking of You. I also left off the paper piercing. My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Whisper Pretty Soft Suede. My layout is from this month's DIRTY DOZEN SKETCH CHALLENGE. I used a tank stamp and sentiment that I got from Hambo years ago. I made this a feminine theme for the colors I wanted to use. The pink cameo ribbon I picked up at Wal-Mart also yrs ago. I love this simple layout and for this to be a 10min card it sure has taken me a long time to get it loaded.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Tank, Tanking of You - Hambo
Paper: white, soft suede
Ink: soft suede,
Accessories: ribbon

Wild West Tic-Tac-Toe

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE. Yep, for sure I have lost my MoJo! This is not my fav but got head to work so I am looking for ideas. Should have looked through the SC235 gallery before I made this for inspiration. I do not do well with square cards so I used a vertical sentiment from Hambo inked with choc chip and made a regular A2 size. When I 1st saw the sketch I thought Tic-Tac-Toe. I love that game and dh will not play this or checkers with me bc he says I get him trapped so no matter which way he moves I win. (insert grin here). LOL. I usually take the X's so as you can see I let him win this round. I think I will put thin in front of the coffee machine for him to find tomorrow morning after I am at work. He is off so he will get to sleep in (insert pout here). I used this darling wild west alphabet that I just had to have and have not inked up but 1 time. The X's and O's were stamped in choc chip on vanilla then matted on choc chip. I wanted to use a thin brown ribbon across the middle line to identify the winner but could not do that over my sentiment. So any ideas how to make me convert this into a likable creation?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Wild West Alphabet - SU, Vert Greeting - Hambo
Paper: vanilla, choc chip
Ink: choc chip

Happy 50th Birthday Fishes Ricky

Well since I live for challenges in the morning and the WTC was not loaded yet I went over to the Dirty Dare Challenges and played there. Also because I am the Queen of Challenge Combo's I grouped 4 of these together. I began with Jody's IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RIBBON presented on Monday. Next was Michelle's Masculinity and Julie"s Simple White Single Layer presented on Tuesday. Then I found Jenn's INSPIRATIONAL CAKE presented on Wednesday. Now before you start thinking "what kinda nut is this to come up with a Bass when looking at a beautiful cake?" I found my inspiration in that gorgeous green ribbon which also is Jody's challenge because the 1st thing I saw was the ribbon and I built from there. I went upstairs and found my ribbon then decided since my dh has a close cousin that we fish with when we can having his 50th BD surprise party Saturday(shhh it's a secret) and I needed a card anyway it just all sorta fell together. ((((clap))). Yeh!. I cut an oval from my Fiskars oval shapes and used my chaulks to color the inside of the oval and the Bass image. I omitted the "belated" from the sentiment to allow room to write 50th. Hope you like it and him too.
RECIPE:
Stamps: It's Your Birthday, SU, Best Fishes, Hambo
Paper: white
Ink: black stazon, garden green
Accessories: ribbon slider pewter, ribbon, chaulks, daubers, markers
Techniques: Omitting, Huffing, Reverse Masking

Friends are Phew

This is for today's Featured Stamper Challenge. This week one of my favs is featured. Congrats to 1startist4highhopes. Crissy has an awesome gallery and was my inspiration to recently order from High Hopes. Still waiting on my order :( so I used my Hambo Skunk instead to CASE her Tink Skunk in the Garden.I changed the sketch layour colors and sentiment. I do not have her stamp so I had to use what I had. The skunk is stamped in versa mark then embossed with heat using Stampendous Marcasite Opaque (very glittery black). I colored the flowers and tongue with prismas then blended gently w/gamsol. The paper is non SU paper I am trying to use up from Wal-Mart . The skunk is on 2 layers or bright and deep pinks then varigated shades of blue, pink, and silver elastic cord tied to the bottom. This is popped up on diminsions. I stamped the flowers on the yellow and hearts on the pink layers in Versa Mark from Background Basics. The sentiment is also from Hambo and is stamped in Versa Mark and then heat embossed using JoAnn's Craft Essentials Pastel Blue EP. I thougth the bottom layer had time to set before I tried to emboss but some still picked up the EP. Oh Well
RECIPE:
Stamps: Hambo Skunk, Hambo Friends are Phew, Background Basics
Ink: versa mark
Accessories: JoAnn Craft Essentials Pastel Blue EP, Stampendous Marsasite Opaque EP, Elastic Cord,

Hog & Kisses

Well I did 3 in 1 for this card. Today's Limited Supply Challange to use a stamp 1.5X1.5 or smaller as the focal image, Thursday's Ways to Use It Challenge to use Metallic Paper, and Stalkers/Chasers Sketch Challenge. I am going to put this beside the coffee machine for DH when he wakes up to get a cup. He is NOT handling the recent loss of our family members well at all.

UPDATE On the Dogs:

The trap is set and in less than 1 hr the white pit bull had been nabbed. The animal shelter came and picked that one up and reset the trap. Now we are just waiting on the brown one. A neighbor told me last night the brown one was the one to be afraid of, very violant.

1st Challenge Chasers Sketch Challenge

Yahoo, I did the 1st Challenge Chasers Sketch Challenge. I stamped some of all 3 sizes of bats from Fiskars acrylic Trick or Treat Stamp set on layer A, which is a light orange CS but shows up kind of yellow, in black and matted on black. Then on Layer B is stamped w/the spider and web also from the Fiskars acrylic set in the 4 corners in black and matted on black. Layer C is the Marvy Scallop Circles Mega & Giga. I stamped the image of the Cat peeking from behind the pumpkin image from Hambo stamps in Black and colored the pumpkin w/Prisma Color Pencils then blended w/gamsol. Then added green glitter glue to the cats eyes and gold the the pumpkins eyes and mouth. This is so adorable IRL. The sentiment is stamped in black on a Quickutz tag. Black ribbon tied to the end. I really love how this turned out!

I had some more play time today and got some new stamps dirty. These are from Hambo Stamps. I do love their stamps. I had to wait for the sentiment but it was worth it. I think this little guy is so cute. I stamped both the image and the sentiment in Black on white and matted it on Black. I matted the black and white polka dots from Making Memories on black. I tied a paper knot from the polka dots paper stip and attached it to the focal image. I love how this turned out.
