I could not resist another Christmas card but today I made it large enough for a gift card to fit in. Christmas has always been the favorite time of year for my entire family. I stamped the envelope with the circle image reminder to not open til Christmas.

Snowman Christmas Gift Holder

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 546 - Rich Cucumber Twist, Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 549 - Front Fold Up Card and Monday's CLEAN AND SIMPLE CHALLENGE # 340 - Christmas holiday gifts. Well these front fold up cards are so quick and easy to make, Anne I am loving them. I have a granddaughter that thinks purple is the only true color so I made this with her in mind today. I think I will slip a folded bill in the gift section. I used a new to me set from Inky Antics - Decorated Snownman and stamped in black then colored with copics V04, V06, YG09, YR07. Stamped the sentiment above the hand and cut and matted on cucumber crush for the top part of the front. I used some coordinating dp for the folded sections except on the 2nd panel where I created a gift section.
I stamped the envelope and colored them with copics as well. Hope you like it and I know she will if I put some green in with that purple. LOL.

I used bakers twine threaded through the botton that is popped up on dimensionals for closing the used my crop-a-dile to make holes on the side to tie the bow and complete the closing. My card stock is some WAY BACK retired Mauve Mist I bought from a retired SU demo way back. I use it every chance I get so hopefully they will bring it back one day. LOL. Such a pretty color. I used dimensionals betweet the dp and focal panel on the top, bottom and left side as well as the white panel and pink panel that my button is matted on and taped the gift card to the pink layer so when you slide the button panel the gift card comes out.
Hope you like it.

Dog Day's Father's Day Gift Card

This is for today's FREE 4 ALL CHALLENGE # 17 - Man's Best Friend. Well everyone knows that dog is man's best friend right? Well except for mine who went crazy after a lightening storm one night and started tearing everything up around the outside of the house. He completely destroyed a swingset that Jessie made for our 1st granddaughter.
Anyway this is for Thursday's WAYS TO USE IT CHALLENGE # 275 - Raving on Ribbon. I do not remember what challenge it was but I do remember doing this a long time ago. Making a slit in the corners and using ribbon as a frame. I love how it looks on this. I used 1/8in red ribbon to frame this digital image that was matted on mellow moss. My card base is barely banana. My image was colored with copics which is my favorite coloring tool so this is also for Thursday's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 054 - Tool Time. My color combo is from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Barely Mellow Red. My focal image and sentiment were just released this week from TREEHOUSE STAMPS DIGITAL LINE called "DOG DAYS" and was printed on white cs. Hope you like it.

Strawberry Ice Cream Matchbook

This is for today's TREEHOUSE THURSDAY CHALLENGE # 050 - Color combo (Pink, Sky Blue, Brown, Cream). Well I had a hard time with this color combo but am happy with the end result. I just wished that Strawberry Ice Cream was real. As hot as it is I would eat it.
I made a matchbook this time as I needed a break from the traditional card creation. I used one of the digital images from ASHELY'S DOODLES, a digital set from TREEHOUSE STAMPS. I used my new large scallop oval Nestie to cut and emboss my focal panel. I colored a 2nd image and cut out the ice cream portion and popped it up on dimensionals. My sky blue is the shading around the image and the brads.
Now it is your turn to show me what you can do with this color combo. Just be sure to include THT050 in your keywords when you upload so that we can see what you make. Also provide us with a link on the TREEHOUSE BLOG.

Faux Leather Birthday Gift Card Holder

This is for today's LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE. We were to to create a birthday gift or money card, include a butterfly somewhere on the project and use choc chip or close to cocoa. Well Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Real Kraft Chocolates helped take care of that rule, teehee. I stamped the butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly in real red then the dotted outline in choc chip and covered the dots with stickles. OK someone please tell me how in the world to make a 6X9 sheet of cs run thru a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 Cuttlebug folder emboss the entire sheet??? gggrrr. I finally gave up and used a Fiskars folder and still am not happy with the results but I have been working on this for 3 hrs now and ready to leave it as it is.

The inside was lined with some real red pattern paper. The front was decorated with the butterfly and I finally used some monograph clear dollar stamps I picked up at Michaels in the dollar bin. Stamped in red on white then matted on kraft and then choc chip. The inside gift card holder is just a white piece of cs with the gift card attached. Happy Birthday sentiment stamped in real red
RECIPE:
Stamps: Birthday Greetings, Flight of the Butterfly
Paper: white, choc chip, kraft, close to cocoa, real red pattern paper
Ink: real red, versa mark
Accessories: fiskars embossing plate, clear embossing powder, stickles. brads, gift card

For The Sweet Bride Gift Card Holder

Man did I have a hard time with today's colors. I needed a wedding gift card holder for a co-worker so this is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Going Really Vanilla and Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Pop Up Gift Card Holder. I had picked up this yummy dp at Michaels on a recent shopping trip and it matches going gray so well I decided to try it for today, well the lines in the dp are white. So I tried using my Vanilla Craft Ink pad again and again CAN NOT get that vanilla to show. I ended up having to use some white detail EP to emboss it with. So my vanilla is now my ribbon. My image is from Sweetly Stamped from H & M STAMP COMPANY. Wouldn't you know it I head downstairs to take my pics and smear the not yet dried stickles. gggrrrr. I need to just go to work and try this again some other day. LOL. On the inside I stamped crosshatch bg with going gray on gong gray card base. Then the senimtent from Fancy Flex Phrases (whew what a mouthful that title is!) the same way and matted it on really rust circle scallop.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Fancy Flexible Phrases - SU, Sweetly Stamped, Just Married, HMStampCo
Paper: Going Gray, DP, Really Rust

A Cardinal Christmas Gift Card Holder Update below

This is for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Pop Up Gift Card Holder. I love making these things. I took this type of project to my last stamp retreat for the shoe box swap and it was a hit. I used vanilla for my base and Dashing DP and riding hood red for the layers. My image was stamped in black brillliance then colored with Copics and SU markers. I applied some stickles on the berries and leaves. See my blog for a picture of the inside. I prefer to have my gift card fitting in sideways so I used the word window punch and a circle punch to make my slot for the card to fit. Ribbon around to keee it closed. My sentiment is stamped in Riding Hood Red then punched with the large oval and matt of old olive punched with wide oval then trimmed to fit and popped up. It is so weird bc my youngest daughter just told me last night all she wanted for Christmas was a gift card so she could buy some clothes. Betcha can't guess who will get this gift card holder :0
RECIPE:
Stamps: A Cardinal Christmas
Paper: Vanilla, Dashing, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive
Ink: Black Brilliance, Real Red, Old Olive, Copics,
Accessories: Stickles, dimensionals, oval punches, circle punch, word window punch
Techniques: Pop Up Gift Card Holder .

UPDATED:
Just had to come home and make another one they are just so simple to do. Here is another one for today's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Pop Up Gift Card Holder. This time I used a set being released Friday at TREEHOUSE STAMP COMPANY 1st Birthday Celebration. The idea for this set came to me one night just as I was trying to go to sleep. I got up and drew it out sent it to Ashley and now it is on rubbah for everyone to use. That is just so kewl to me. The idea for this card holder came from Shannon and Deb who have already inked their stamp and used it. Hope you like it. There are several different headers within this set. DH is always asking me "what do you want this year" and when I start naming things he looks at me like I am speaking a foreign language. LOL. I will give him this to put a gift card in then I will go buy more stampin' supplies. Teehee.

Stamps: Miake A List - Treehouse Stamp Co

Shore Thing Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Well this is a first for me, a tutorial with step by step and photos to boot. LOL. I just love making these little gift card holders which was a TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 165 . Beth linked us to a tutorial by HEATHER NICOLES which was a great help I just thougth I would provide a few more insights for assistance since I enjoyed making these and hope you do too.
Supplies:
8 1/2 x 11 Card Stock for Base - Cool Carribean used
2 1/2 x 3 1/4 Card Stock Matt - Kraft used
2 1/4 x 3 Card Stock for Focal Image - white used
Hemp 9 inches long
Word Window Punch
Circle Punch - here 1 3/8 inch
Adhesive
Inks - here Cool Carribean and Close to Cocoa
Stamp Sets - here Shore Thing , Fancy Flexible Phrases, Cheesecloth Background used
Begin with dividing 8 1/2 x 11 CS sheet in half by making it 4 1/4 x 11.
Score at 3 , 5 1/2, and 8 then fold and press with bone folder as picutured.
On the inside fold mark at 3/8 and 3 7/8. Slide word window punch in half way and punch left side then right side. Should look like this after.

Slide the circle punch in about 1/4 way in the center of where the word window punches were used and punch.
This gives the gift card enough room to slide in and out of the slot. (you may also make a slide to attach the gift card to if you wish)
The idea for this design was a combined effort of myself and Shannon. I wanted something masculine bc guys get the short end sometimes when we think of creativity for them. I had made 2 or 3 of these that I felt like just needed a little kick and was asking for her creative mind to help. This is what we came up with. I stamped the front and back of the card with Cheesecloth background using cool carribean for a tone on tone look. (You may also wish to add stamped images on the inside panels) For my focal images the chair was stamped with cool carribean, the sand image was stamped around the chair and on the bottom with close to cocoa and the birds were stamped on the bottom with Close to Cocoa. The sentiment was stamped in the upper right corner with close to cocoa. This was matted on the kraft layer then matted on the card base. I tied the hemp around the entire card loosely to help keep it closed and to aid in sliding it off to get into the card. Now it is your turn. Please provide me with some feedback and let me see your wonderful creations.

Beary Merry Christmas Gift Card Holder

This is for todays' Technique Lovers Challenge to PIECE UP A GREAT GIFT by making a gift card holder and using paper piecing as well. Thanks Michelle for this challenge. I am almost finished with Christmas Cards except I needed 2 gift card holders so that took care of 1 of those for me.I used Jen's turorial Michelle included except it really does help if you read in it's entirety BEFORE you begin.lol. I am so used to attaching my focal image until I slapped that adhesive on at attached it to the front then remembered I was suppose to put dimensionals on the left backside and nothing on the right. oooppss. Oh Well. I improvised and used a velcro sticker to close my holder. I should have popped up the bow tie which is my paper piecing. I stamped the image on green using real red ink and cut out the bow tie to put in place. The santa hat is also cut out, colored and attached. The sentiment is from Beary Merry Christmas and is coloring in using Garden Green and Real Red markers matted and popped up. Paw prints are stamped randomly on the card base in black. The bear is stamped in Timber Brown Stazon then colored with water color pencils. Stickles is applied to the button, rim and ball of the hat.
