Elegant Embroidered Greetings

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 370. My colors are from Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 360 - White Island Pool. I stamped the sentiment on the inside 1st in pool party then in island indigo for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 362 - Try This or Try That. I used Martha Stewarts picket fence border punch for the front matt panel, pool party for the base and fold over flap and island indigo for the matt for base.
I used my air brush system for the primas and they are held together with a gem brad.
I did something I do not usually do and that is to take a peek at those who have already created. In looking at the challenge gallery I loved the way Sallie did her faux curtains behind her window in this gorgeous FLOWERING WINDOW BOX and attempted to create that same effect, without sucess I might add. I used the lacey border from Elegant Embroidery SU set. I first tried using my white craft ink which failed. I have had nothing but trouble with that pad since getting it. I just can not get it to show up so I ended up with island indigo. Still did not get the angle I was going for but oh well.

Paper: white, pool party, island indigo
Ink: pool party, island indigo
Accessories: MS Picket Fence Border, Butterflies, Fern punches, pirmas, Copics, ABS, Gem, Sm Madison Window

My base is my 2nd and for sure final attempt at Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 299 - W.I.S.H.. I tried again after telling myself not to but now I have learned my lesson. I cut and embossed my focal panel with Nesties Rectangle then used YG93 to trim around the inside edge and softened it with the colorless blender. After attaching all the layers I covered the colored sections of the images with purple and blue stickles.

Oh Happy Day

Oh My Oh My was I doin’ the happy dance Sunday night when I got a PM from Betty asking if I would like to provide a sample for this weeks color challenge. After I picked myself up from the floor I pm’d back with a hesitating (NOT) YES, OH YES. So this is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE # 266 – Blushing Coral Rubies. I love these colors together. Betty is paying tribute to retiring SU colors. I really hate to see these go since they are some of my favorite colors but I still have paper, pens, re-inkers so I will use them until they are gone. LOL.

I decided to use a set I bought from The Greeting Farm called “Oh Happy Day”. This little girl just tickles my funny bone with her all frocked up and no where to go. She reminds me of Madison (Shannon’s # 2 child) who loves to dress up and act like a GLAMORE GAL! Such a drama queen that one, but loved by all. I stamped my image in tuxedo Memento ink then colored with copics E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, E80, E51, E53, R20, R21, R22, R24, R27, Y11, & Y13. After coloring I trimmed around the hair and edge then used Nesties circle and trimmed and embossed. My matt is from Labels 3 in ruby red cs. My card base is cameo coral with Background basics Star block stamped in creamy caramel. I did some shading around the image with C1 and C3 then airbrushed with Y11. A strip of creamy caramel on the right side topped with blush blossom ribbon tied with gold cord through a button for accent. I wish I could tie bows like Betty. Maybe one day she will teach me her secret.

I hope you like my sample and hope you play along with todays color combo. Happy Stampin’ All.

Quiet Quilted Moments

This is for today's SKETCH CHALLENGE # 262. Trying to stay out of jail from not thoroughly reading the desert option I also used Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE - Bermuda Celery Hunter, and included TWIGHTLIGHT TUESDAY'S INSPIRATION CHALLENGE # 59 - Sparkle where I added stickles to the heart brad and water lines, CREATIVE CARD CREW CHALLENGE # 42 - Distressing where I sponge distressed my heart, and it only took me 2 days to build up the courage for Monday's TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - Paper Quilting that I tackled in a small portion on panel 3. Whey. I used a set just released in digital form by TREEHOUSE STAMPS. Ya gotta check them out. I am luvin' me some digis. I made my quilted panel from some dp from Impressions, I did some airbrushing for the sky and it is hard to see but I used some pink also. I need more practice, can not seem to get a good smooth flow especially with the Ciaos. I found some dark green felt ribbon that matched handsome hunter, I punched the large heart from Martha Stewart punch in vanilla and then distressed the edges with pink passion for some desert then added a pink heart brad in the center and popped them up. I stamped the sentiment in handsome hunter. I love how this turned out and hope you do too.

Cool Wishes Snowflake Button

This is for today's COLOR CHALLENGE - Crushed Red Sand. My desert is a button I made from my Fiskars Snowflake Punch using a technique from the past TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE - 5 Layered Button which I absolutely love making. After the crstal effects dried I tied some red ribbon, gold and silver cording through the button holes into a bow. My sketch is from Monday's THE PINK ELEPHANT CHALLENTE # 46 - SKETCH. I stamped the image in black brilliance on white cs then on a post it note so I could use it as a mask. Then with my air brush system and copic marker I sprayed some crushed curry color around the image. I did not have a match for sahara sand so I broke out my spritzer tool which I fight with every time I use it. That is why I broke down and bought an air compressor to air brush with. Anyway my penguin is at the beach and the sand is around his feet and the the sun is getting ready to set but it is still cool so he needed his scarf anyway. My sentiment is stamped in real red ink. I punched the sahara sand layer with my Fiskars snowflake border punch after stamping it with the snowflake in this darling stamp set that I got from TREEHOUSE STAMPS called COOL WISHES. How did I do?
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cool Wishes - THS
Paper: white, sahara sand, real red, crushed curry
Ink: black brilliance, sahara sand, real red
Accessories: copics, air brush system, Fiskars Snowflake border emboss/punch
Techniques: Masking, Airbrushing
