DT Lili of the Valley Challenge #85 & Square Envelope Card "Template"

Hi again folks :)

Lili of the Valley is having their Challenge #85 up and ready for you today, and this time we want you to play with YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO!!
We have our first GDT this week too, so check out her georgeous creation, along with the Dt's beautiful samples this week!

You may think that I've made a purple and turqouise card today, since I've made a LOT of those lately, but...GOT YAH!
I've made a BROWN and TURQOUISE card insted :)
Turqouise seems to be my favourite colour of all times, and almost any combo with that colour
works for me :)
I've played with my new georgeous Pion Design papers, and finally got to try out colouring on Kraft cardstock. I've made another Square Envelope Card, and if you stay with me till the end of this post, I'll tell you how to make those fun and decorative folding cards ;)
Hope you enjoy!

Size: 6" x 6"
Folding: Envelope Card
Ink: Adirondack - Espresso, Distress Ink - Broken China & Walnut Stain to ink the edges.
Stamps: Lili of the Valley - "Pom Pom" & General Greetings.
Colouring: Prismacolor Premier Colour Pencils & Sansodor on Kraft cardstock.
Papers: Pion Design - Sagaen om Våren "Fjäril" & "Vårdikt", Bazzill - kraft & turqouise cardstock.
Tools: Spellbinders - Nesting Eyelet Circles & Classic Circles, Martha Stewart - Flourish & Cherish Hearts edge punches, EK Success - petite scalloped edge punch.

I'm entering this card in to these challenges:
♥♥♥

Since I've had a few questions about how I make these Square Envelope Cards, and what measurements I use, I decided to share it with you today ;)

Start out by cutting a square of cardstock in size 9 1/4" x 9 1/4".
Score diagonally as showed on the picture, at 3 1/4" in every corner, so you'll have 4 equal flaps to fold.
Cut off the little triangles where the flaps cross (on the middle of each side of the square), so you can fold the card nice and flat. I keep the card closed with magnets, but you may use ribbon too.
Hope this made sense to you :)
If you make any Square Envelope Cards using my recipe, I'll be very happy if you let others know about it, and I would love for you to show me your beautiful samples too :)

Wishing you a happy day!
Hugs, Lena Katrine

DT Ett trykk: Issue 04/10 Tutorial Tea-Light Card

In the August issue of Ett trykk/Norsk Stempelblad, I made a tutorial on how to make a tea-light card.
The brain behind the original tea-light card, is actually German, but we couldn't manage to find out who,
so I started out by drawing a new template with "wings" to close the "box" :)

You're welcome to try out my template and tutorial, but I'll appreciate if you'll link back to me, if you publish a tea-light card where you've used my kind of template!

Start by cutting out the template in a piece of cardstock that messures 22 x 30 cm. Cut and score as the template shows.

Punch/cut out panels in the shapes/sizes/papers you want for your card, stamp and ink.

Glue the panels in DP to the cardstock, and remember to cut out the stripe where the candles will show.
If you want the card to be held together with ribbon, you must cut a small opening where you want the ribbon, in the line where the "tea-light box" will be glued (you can take a closer look at where I've placed the cut further down).

Panels on the one side...

...and the other.

Fasten the images/texts, and fasten the ribbon on the backside, by gluing your perconal stamp over it.

When all the pieces are glued to the card, you can glue the "box" to the card, by adding glue on the left 1cm stripe of the cardstock (on the front side of it - this pic is showing the backside of the "box").

Now you can fill the card with tea-lights, and embellish it the way you like :)

Recipe for my tea-light card:
Size: 12,5 x 16 cm
Ink: Archival Ink - Jet Black for stamping, Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet for inking the edges.
Stamps: Norsk Stempelblad AS - sentiments.
Papers: Maja Design - DP, Bazzill - antique pink cardstock, sketch paper.
Tools: Spellbinders - Nesting Mega Long & Scalloped Ovals.
Embellishments: Kort & Godt - pearls and ribbon, Storyteller - hvite flowers, Hobbyhimmelen - lilies.

I'll be very happy to hear what you think of my tutorial - have a great day!

Template Tea-Light Card

Hi everybody!

I've got a couple of questions on how to make my tea-light card, so I drew a template for you :)
And I wrote down the instructions (in english) on how to make it as well :)
You may still watch Anetth's tutorial here!

Instructions:
Start with a cardstock in size 16 x 30 cm, then score at (from the left) 1 cm, 3 cm, 7 cm, 9 cm and 21,5 cm. The part that is left, should now be 8,5 cm.
Decorate all sides with panels of patterned paper, and cut out a stripe of 1-2cm x 12 cm in the space of 4 cm = the top over the tea-lights).
Then the card is ready to decorate :)
 Good luck!

♥ Have a great day! ♥
Hugs, Lena
