Echo Park ~ You Are My Sunshine #1 ☀️

Hello everyone, it's Anna back with you today. This month I'm working with Echo Park You Are My Sunshine - a fabulous collection to brighten your day, with bright colours, florals and plenty of sunshine!

You can find the collection in the shop here

To create this layout I used a sheet of white cardstock as my base. I wanted to use the b side of sunshine floral, as the green pattern matched well with my photographs.
So I trimmed it down by around an inch on each side and adhered to the white cardstock.

I then chose a coordinating colour thread and hand stitched around the sunshine floral patterned paper.
I then grabbed the 3x4 journal cards and chose four of them that would work well with my photos. I had 5 pictures that I wanted to get on this page and arranging them with the journal cards is one of my go to ways to fit multiple pictures on a page.

I arranged the photos and journal cards together and adhered them to my layout.

I then added my embellishments, I selected a few element stickers. I tucked the large florals under the right edge of the photo and added a sunshine sticker at the top, alongside my title.

I fussy cut a couple of florals from Sunshine Floral and tucked them under my journal cards next to some small florals from the element stickers.

Thanks so much for looking! See you later in the month with a second layout using this collection!

Simple Stories - Game Night - Shuffle, Roll. Laugh, Repeat

Hello, Karen here with my latest project using the colourful Simple Stories Game Night collection. For this layout I went for a grid design and used the Tag Elements paper. I challenged myself to use the majority of the tags as the foundation for my layout, and I love how it turned out.

I began the layout with a sheet of white cardstock. I trimmed this down slightly and then matted it onto a sheet of black cardstock, making sure to leave a narrow border around the edges.

To add some texture I machine stitched a straight stitch round the outside of the layout with white thread.

I fussy-cut the tags from the Tag Elements paper and paired them up. I stacked them in doubles to create a 3 x 2 grid right in the centre of my layout, giving the layout a fun, game board feel.

On five of the tag piles I added a small photo. When I choose to use this collection I hunted through my photos to find as many game related photos as I could. We often play games on holiday and at Christmas so there were quite a few to choose from.

The tags were embellished with die cuts from the Bits and Pieces pack and a few images cut from some of the papers. The photos and the die cuts were raised on 3D foam to give some dimension.

The names of the games were printed on the computer using a font called 'KB Chatter Box' , cut into strips and added to each tag cluster.

To finish them off, I threaded some black and white baker's twine through the top of each tag

I purposely left one of the tags unembellished, so that the words served as the title for the layout.

Finally I punched a few stars from some co-ordinating cardstock and dotted them around the layout.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope this grid design inspires you. If you’re ready to document your own family gaming traditions, make sure to head over to the shop to grab the Simple Stories Game Night collection before it’s gone.

Take Care

Bella Blvd ~ Documented #3 🌷

Hi everyone, it’s Anna here with you today. I have one last layout to share with you before I move on to Christmas!
So I thought I’d use up my leftover supplies from Bella Blvd Documented which you can find in the shop here

My last full sheet of patterned paper was ‘captured’ which I used as my base.
I had some tags and 3x4 cut apart elements left on the ‘daily details’ paper so I decided to create a grid design with them. Those that know my scrapbooking style will know that I love a grid layout!

I mounted my photos on to the 3x4 cut apart elements and arranged them in a grid on some white cardstock. I then adhered this to my background paper and added a boarder sticker from the Doohickey Cardstock Stickers.

I added two tags at the top left and right side of the grid and the added my title. I used some of the Alpha stickers from the ‘Doohickey Cardstock Stickers’ and also some Doodlebug Designs Abigail Alpha stickers in Beetle Black - but there’s lots of colour options here.

I added some stickers from the ‘Doohickey Cardstock Stickers’ as well as some twine to the tags, which completed my layout.

Thanks so much for looking and I’ll see you later in the month with my advent calendar!

Doodlebug Designs ~ Butterfly Kisses 🦋

 Hi everyone!

This month I’m working with Doodlebug designs Butterfly Kisses which you can find in the shop here

This collection has been out for a little while now, but it caught my attention in the shop recently and I was keen to have a play!

If you’re a regular visitor to the blog, you will know I love a multi photo layout and the tags on ‘Happy Thoughts’ gave me the inspiration to create a multi photo layout to document my birthday!

I had lots of photos from the day and if I used lots of them singularly on a layout, I’d have so many pages of one day. Multi photo layouts are really great for not only telling stories but using less space in your albums.

I began by cutting out all of the tags from ‘Happy Thoughts’. I then adhered them onto a sheet of white bazzill cardstock. I then printed out a selection of photos and began arranging them onto the tags. I mounted some if the onto coordinating bazzill cardstock.

I added some of the This and That stickers and some of the Puffy word stickers to embellish each of the tags.

🏷️ Thanks so much for looking! 🏷️

See you later on in the month for a second layout using this collection.

Echo Park ~ Blossoms and Bees 🐝 #2

Hi everyone, it’s Anna back with you today. I’m sharing my second layout using Echo Park Blossoms and Bees, which you can find in the shop here

For this layout I’ve used the 3x4 journaling cards to create a grid style layout, which is one of my go to scrapbook page designs.

For my background, I used the b side of blossoms and bees. I then selected six of the journaling cards and arranged them in a 3x3 grid.

I mounted photos on to four of the journaling cards and left the remaining two - one to add some journaling to and one to keep as it was.

I then added a few element stickers, including ‘welcome spring’ as my title, some florals, and words.

Thanks so much for looking!

See you again next month with a brand new collection.

Echo Park - Chilling With My Snowmies - Let it Snow

Hello. Karen here today with a second layout using the Chilling with my Snowmies collection from Echo Park. As I write this, snow is forecast where I live in the next few days, so it's probably appropriate that I am scrapbooking photos of a previous snowy day.

I started with a sheet of white cardstock and onto this I placed strips of patterned paper from the collection - Feeling Frosty Snowflakes, Winter Floral (B side), Colorful Snowflakes (B side) and a piece of pale blue cardstock. I cut the papers and card on the diagonal so that they would stretch diagonally across my white cardstock leaving just a narrow gap between each strip and round the edges.

I matted two 4x6 photos and a journaling card (from the sheet of multi journalling cards) onto dark blue cardstock and mounted these in a grid design onto another sheet of white cardstock which measured roughly 10" square. The square of cardstock was then matted with dark blue cardstock and placed in the centre of the layout.

Using the Silhouette Cameo I die cut my title from dark blue card, backed it with pink card and used it to fill the bottom right corner of the grid.

Then I started embellishing the layout using flowers fussy cut from the Winter Floral sheet of patterned paper.

I placed clusters of the flowers in two corners, overlapping them slightly.

In my stash I found some very old white wood veneer snowflakes and added these to the embellishment clusters.

In the bottom right corner of the layout I added the date which I had printed on the computer onto some white cardstock.

Finally, I added a few sequins and enamel dots to the embellishment clusters.

Thank you for letting me share this layout with you. Take care, and I'll be back again soon,

Pretty Little Studio - Good Vibrations - You are Awesome

Hello, Karen here with another project using the Good Vibrations collection from Pretty Little Studio.

For the layout I'm sharing today I started by trimming a sheet of the starry eyed paper  and matted this on a 12" x 12" sheet of smooth black cardstock leaving a narrow border round the edges.

The packaging of the 12 x 12 single sided paper pack includes front and back cover sheets. The back cover sheet shows small preview squares of all the papers in the pack in a 4x4 grid, and so I trimmed this and placed onto the layout. It was perfect for creating a simple grid layout.

My photo, which was just under 5x7, was matted onto black cardstock and placed in the bottom right corner of the layout, covering 6 of the printed squares, and with 3D foam underneath to create some dimension.

I then set about embellishing the layout with pieces from the Seize the Day Die Cut pack and Wildflower Die Cut pack. The packs contains multicoloured phrases, stars & flowers and I chose some which were appropriate for a layout about my son.

The die cuts were raised on 3D foam so that they stood out from the otherwise flat background.

I also added texture with machine stitching round the outside edges of the paper/card layers.

Yellow Enamel dots were dotted here and there.

Finally I printed some details about the photo onto a paper strip and attached this below the photo.

I hope you like this layout which was created quite easily with the printed cover sheet from the paper pack and some embelishments. The Good Vibrations collection really is perfect for summer scrapbooking and I hope I've inspired you to scrapbook those summer memories.

Take Care, Karen x x

Simple Stories Winter Wonder - Hello Winter

Hello again. Karen here with one final layout using Winter Wonder from Simple Stories. I have really enjoyed using this collection and am sorry that I've come to the end of my design team kit.

I began the layout by layering sheets of white and kraft cardstock on top of each other. Careful gutting of the cardstock beforehand meant that I was able to use only one sheet of each colour.

Once I had created the base for my layout I machine stitched with white thread a straight stitch round the edges of two of the pieces of cardstock. I love adding machine stitching to my layouts. It give the layout more texture and interest.

I cut five 3x4 cards from the 2x2/4x4 Elements paper and one from a piece of the Brr Brr Brr paper.  I rounded the corners of the cards with a paper punch and then attached them in a grid design onto the background with the B sides upmost.

From some white glitter cardstock I die cut some snowflakes and placed these in a row horizontally across the middle of the layout and machine stitched through them all.

I attached photos to four of the cards with 3D foam underneath and tag from the Tag Elements paper onto another. I then set about embellishing the cards with die cuts from the Floral Bits and Pieces pack. I chose the pink flowers to co-ordinate with the tag.

More glittery die cut snowflakes were added too.

I strung the tag with some white twine and added some words cut from the 2x2/4x4 Elements paper as a title.

Using some pale pink watercolour paint, I picked out a few of the phrases on the card made from the Brr Brr Brr paper. It's quite subtle, but brings some pink to that part of the layout.

Finally, I scattered a few sequins here and there,

I hope I've inspired you today to scrapbook some snowy photos or have a go at a grid layout or pop over to the shop and have a look at the Winter Wonder collection from Simple Stories. Whatever you do, take care and I'll be back soon with another project.
