March Dust it Off Challenge by Kathy

My collection of 12 x 12 post bound albums

Organizing all the complete layouts in chrono order

For the Dust it Off Challenge I decided to dust off my closet full of 12 x 12 post bound albums and put my completed layouts in them.  I use to scrap in chronological order - but that was before my  digital camera - and before Grand kids 2 and 3.  I have been putting my completed layouts in what was originally 1 3 ring binder.  The 1 grew to 5, plus 3 overflow albums - so it was definitely time to get them in a postbound.

I was able to file layouts from 2005 - 2009.  I decided to keep the 2010 & 2011 layouts in the 3 ring binders.  I ended up with 24 post bound albums.

2 piles of complete albums

February Challenge by Kathy

These are my LOVES - just some random pictures of my 3 Grandkidos - each with a hat!  What's not to love about them?

This was a piece of paper I got ages ago (using my Stash - which I love) - on clearance of course (I always love a bargain).

The Little Things and embelies at the bottom were printed right on the page (which I love because I didn't have to do much).  All I did was add the pictures and the words What Matters?  (which I love because it was super simple) cut with Lipstick Sizzix dies (which is a font I love).

Now it's your turn to share your February Love Challenge.  See all the details HERE!

Show N' Tell Sunday - Oh Christmas Tree by Kathy

Posted by PicasaMy Toy Story tree - as you can tell this is the tree the kids get to decorate.  You can also see how tall they are - seems how all the toys are at the same level - all in a line!

I love that the kids are able to decorate - and play with the ornaments on this tree.  It gets re-decorated almost daily!

Show N' Tell Sunday by Kathy

We were able to go to "Main Street Bethlehem" tonight. The line was long - but well worth it. Niko is just the right age for this - and took it all in like a sponge. He gave money to the begger, and attempted to pay bail for those that were in jail.  He was quite sad when the jailer refused his coins - not recognizing them.

It was a great experience and really helped remind us that "Jesus is the Reason for the Season".

Pagerize Dawn by Kathy

Posted by PicasaI really wanted to go with the whole doodling and strip journaling ideas in order to Pagerize Dawn, but instead just went with the Song Title Theme.  I also did the 3 pictures - but that's about as far as the pagerizing goes.  I also made mine a 2 page layout.

Thanks for the inspiration Dawn.  I'm going to do some doodling yet!

It's not too late to get your Pagerize This Challenge complete.  See all the details in Pagerize This #4 below.  You could become our next Pagerizer!

Show N' Tell Sunday

And to think I cleaned the kitchen up today for THIS!
Our annual cookie baking! The fact that all three of the kids are a year older made quite a difference this year. They all three stayed on task until the very end! Maddie would still be rolling the play dogh - or frosting and re-frosting her cookies.  The only way we could get her to stop was for her to eat the cookies!

Posted by PicasaIt was a lot of fun - but what a mess!  I love traditions and this time of year!

Show N' Tell Sunday by Kathy

My friends and I had a scrapping Garage Sale today.  I made almost $200 - and still have lots of STASH left.

It was a lot of fun - but a lot of work.  Now I have to find a home for everything until the next sale.

Pagerize Christy by Kathy

Posted by PicasaThis is my Genuine Sweetie.  This was a fun layout to Pagerize.  I wanted to keep with the circle and the scallop - and I just happened to have this scalloped circle paper!  Thanks Christy for the inspiration.

Show N' Tell Sunday by Kathy

Posted by PicasaNot only did I want to share my layout - which I am very proud of... I also wanted to share the story behind it.

I started dieting on March 21st - and then 10 days later joined Weight Watchers.  On May 2, 2010 I had lost 14 pounds.  Niko and I were at the grocery store - and he wanted to buy a watermelon.  When I picked this one up - I noted how heavy it was.  Niko suggested we weight it.  It weighted 14 pounds.  There was no way I couldn't buy that one at that point.  As a true scrappinpsycho - I was already thinking this would make a great layout.

Of course when we got the watermelon home - I had to have Niko take a picture of me with the watermelon - and I also had everyone who came in contact with the watermelon - pick it up and see how heavy it was!

My next leighout (get it) - is me with my youngest grandson - I've now lost my weight in Jonathan.

Do you have something you'd like to Show N' Tell - see how in the SHOW N' TELL SUNDAY post below.

Best of $$Frugal Friday Tip$$

Faux Chipboard Letters by Kathy

My tip is to use chipboard letters as patterns instead of using the actual chipboard. This allows you to never run out of those pesky E's or any other letter. I have posted 2 examples.

In Indian boy - I cut the letters for INDIAN by placing the letters on the front of the paper and traced them with my Zig Writer. Then when I cut them out - I cut them just a little outside the lines leaving a small border.

On the Goofy layout - I traced the letters backward on the red paper from the back. Then I cut them on the line. Then I inked around the edges for emphasis.

To make the letters appear to be chipboard - I used the little foam adhesive (pop-dots) as my adhesive. Even up close and in real life - they totally look like they are chipboard.

This is a great way to match your letters to your layout too - no more having to find chipboard letters that "work" or having to paint, ink or cover them to match your layout. And best of all - you will always have the letters you need!

If you use this tip - please send a picture and brief description of your layout to: scrappinpsycho@live.com and I'll post it here.

Also, if you have a Frugal Tip you'd like to share - please send a picture and description to the above address and it may be posted as a future Frugal Friday Tip.

Don't forget to get your November Challenge in - entries must be received by 6 PM November 30th. Who knows - maybe you will be our next Guest Design Team member. See all the details below in November Challenge.
We're looking forward to hearing from YOU!

October Challenge by Kathy

I was finally able to complete my THAT project. I really needed this challenge to make me complete this layout about a special time my sisters and I spent with my dad before his Alzheimers took his mind from us. The pictures are not very good - but the most important part was the journaling. I have procrastinated doing this layout for a long time - I'm not big into journaling - but knew that this was important to capture my memories of that special time.

Posted by PicasaNow it's your turn to take the THAT project challenge. Hurry, the challenge ends at 6 PM on October 31st. See all the details in October Challenge below.
