May Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge: 

Tiffany shares this about her layout:

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Pick Your Side Sketch challenge for Mayl. My daughter and her friends had a "welcome to summer" bonfire last May, so I printed 3 pictures from her SnapChat annount to use for the layout. (sometimes it's the only way I get pics of my teenagers!) I chose to flip the right side of the sketch to work with my 3 photos. Since the pictures were on the dark side, I used lots of bright colors for my layout. After placing my pics on the rainbow background, I tucked lots of scraps all around. And by scraps- I mean scraps! Everything tuked around the edges was all found on my table, the advantage of a messy craft area! I have a lovely bowl of tags I save from clothing, so I pulled a narrow rectangle tag, compete with twine and a great safety pin, and tucked that behind the top photo. I pulled out a Vicki Boutin sheet from her Field Notes collection and used water color pencils to color the white flowers in rainbow order. I love how this turned out! "Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Saturday Morning Cartoons Sketch challenge for May. So much fun to play with all the colors of the rainbow! I had picks of my daughter and her friend at our Town-Wide Cleanup wearing BRIGHT GREEN shirts, so they were perfect for this bright challenge! I went to my stash of nature-themed papers, and found this pretty tree pattern that is probably supposed to be for xmas, but the girls are in the woods so why not! I roughly scibbled circles on 2 scraps of bright green and blue paper, and tucked them behind the photos. I had a gradiated rainbow scrap that I used behind my title and a thin strip on the top and bottom of the layout. You can read more about my layout on my blog:

April Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge: 

Tiffany shares this about her layout:
"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Pick Your Side Sketch challenge for April. My daughter and her BFF have been prom dress shopping for what seems like months! I chose 3 pictures from their shopping adventures to use with the right side of the sketch. Since the girls' final dresses are blue and yellow, I used those colors for my layout. I layered a pale yellow pattern paper over a frame of pale blue cardstock as my background. Then I ran strips of pastel scallop-punched paper behind the photos. I tucked a few floral die cuts behind the pics, and added enamel hearts to each cluster. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Pick Your Side Sketch challenge."

April Saturday Cartoon Inspired Stash Challenge

Tiffany:

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Saturday Morning Cartoons Sketch challenge for March. I took inspiration from the Care Bear, Champ. When I was a kid, Champ was a tannish-orange bear, but they have since given him a makeover and he is blue! So I have both tannish-orange and blue colors in my layout. I went to my stash of sports-themed papers, and found a... blue pattern that worked well as the jumbo circle in the sketch. I layered the circle over the orange strips of pattern paper in my stash, and tucked a few stars leftover from a previous project abover and below my photos. To incorporate Champ's Belly Badge, I printed a picture of the bear from Google Images, fussy cut the trophy, and popped it up on dimensionals on the left side.

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Pick Your Side Sketch challenge for March. I've had this fun photo of my niece at the beach last summer that I've been waiting to scrap, and the jumbo pic on the left side of the sketch worked perfectly for it. I layered the cloud pattern paper on top of the striped background, and ran strips of "best day ever" washi on the top and botton=m of the clouds. Then I dug through my stash pulling anything summer-related and created a few clusters, scattering star sequins in each cluster as the final touch. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Pick Your Side Sketch challenge."

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Saturday Morning Cartoons Sketch challenge for March. I took inspiration from the colors in the Snoopy picture and grabbed green cardstock and a sheet of patterned paper with sweet yellow hearts for my backgrounds. I also found a scrap of strawberry paper in my stash, perfect for this layout! I cut the "good vibes only" ...title from an old cut apart page, and embellished with a bunch of green label stickers. I also added green Nuvo Drops, ink splatters, and twine for some extra color. I rarely use green, and was surprised at how much I found in my stash! Looking forward to seeing your take on this Saturday Cartoon Sketch challenge."

I used several different striped pattern papers from my stash, punching circles from the paper to mimic the circle embellishments in the sketch. I took inspiration from the colors in the Popeye picture to make my mixed media backgroup in blues over a pale pink background. I layered my photos over strips of pattern paper in my stash, and cut out the bracket edge of a tag to tuck under the left photo. For the 3+hearts, I added 3 chipboard hearts and a punched heart in 4 places on the layout. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Saturday Cartoon Sketch challenge."

"Hello SOS friends.  Tiffany here with my take on the Golden Globe challenge for December, "Make A Wish." To get started on this challenge, I pulled out my stash of winter papers and stickers and the "Fun, Frost, and Family" sticker immediately caught my eye. I wanted to use pictures from my nieces birthday over the weekend, and that sticker was perfect!  I layered it over the photo and a silver douly.  A few more snowflake stickers from the package were sprinkled in a few spots, and my simple winter birthday layout was complete.  Looking forward to seeing your take on this challenge."

November Blend-A-Sketch Challenge: 

Tiffany said this about her layout:

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Blended Sketch challenge for November. I combined the single photo and jumbo circle of the 1st sketch with the varied-sized pieces tucked behind the photos on the 2nd sketch. For the varied-sized pieces, I dug into my stash for an assortment of blues, greys, and aquas, and just quickly cut chunks, not worrying about size or straight lines. I had a jumbo yellow circle sitting on my scrap pile, and thought the blues balanced well against it. I had a nice chipboard banner that I cut in 2 pieces to layer beneath my title, and scattered a few more chipboard pieces about the layout. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Blended Sketch challenge.

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Golden Globe challenge for November. For my background, I punched a bunch of stars out of white cardstock, and layered them on top of a full sheet of white cardstock, creating a subtle starry background. I had a great scrap of constellation pattern paper in my stash that made the perfect layer behind my photos. I ran a piece of watercolor paper through my typewriter for the quote and journaling. Then I did a watercolor wash over the typed words, and tucked the 2 strips behind my photos. Some mists, thread, and sequin stars in 3 clusters added a little extra fun around the layout. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Golden Globe challenge."

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Blended Sketch challenge for October. My family just celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday, and I knew these pictures would be perfect for the sketch. I combined the diagonal background of the 1st sketch with the circle and banner behind the photos on the 2nd sketch. For the circular element I just grabbed my fine point Sharpie and scribbled a messy circle on the background. I also outlined each of my pattern papers to bring all the pieces together. using a scrap of red polka dot paper I’ve had in my stash for years). I stretched my “70 & sensational” title across most of the layout, and then added a few gold hearts, chipboard pieces, and gold mist to each of my clusters. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Blended Sketch challenge."

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Golden Globe challenge for October. I decided to look at the inspiration picture as a kind of sketch. Obviously my title placement and letter size mimics the “Sing” letters. I lined up my 3 photos in place of the movie theater marquee. And then to incorporate the bling and rhinestone portion of the challenge, I filled the section below my photos with a ton of glitter stars, pearls, and Nuvo Drops- imitating the movie lights on the picture. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Golden Globe challenge"

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Blended Sketch challenge for September. I chose to use 3 photos and that were in the 1st sketch, and layered them on top of a large square with torn edges, similar to the jumbo bracketed piece in the 2nd sketch. I just love that jumbo scallop element! (using a scrap of red polka dot paper I’ve had in my stash for years). I flipped my title to the top, rather than the bottom on both, and added 3 wooden buttons along with puffy hearts and nests of thread in 3 embellishment clusters. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Blended Sketch challenge."

September Golden Globe Inspired Stash Challenge

Today's feature is the creative work of

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Golden Globe challenge for September. When I saw the challenge I immediately thought of the great pictures I took at the Boston Pride Parade in June. I enlarged my favorite from the day (a group shot of my daughter, 2 nieces, and best friend) and enlarged that as my focal point. The other 3 pics I printed small and arranged in a grid around the m...ain photo. An transparency rainbow flag and rainbow heart stickers we had from the parade made perfect embellishments, along with a sprinkling of puffy black and white stars. I tore a thin strip along both sides of the background cardstock to reveal a small piece of multi-colored patterned paper to add a little interest to the edges. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Golden Globe challenge."

"Hello SOS friends! Tiffany here with my take on the Blended Sketch challenge for the month. I chose to use 3 photos and the jumbo scallop that were in the 2nd sketch, but flipped it to be horizontal like the 1st sketch. I just love that jumbo scallop element! I hand drew my circles and cut them out to make the border, using a piece of red polka dot paper I’ve had in my stash for years. I also cut a 2nd piece of that pattern paper the same size, and just flipped it to use the reverse behind the top of my photos. Looking forward to seeing your take on this Blend-A-Sketch challenge."
