PAPER!!

Wow... I know I have lots of patterned paper but since my cardstock is stacked standing up in a cupboard, I wasn't sure how much I really had... it has a way of looking unthreatening when it's standing on it's side!! It was in a bit of a shambles so I started organizing by color and neatening it up and realized that I am definately a paper addict!! I think I have at least two of every color on the bazzill list!! This is only half of it... I am still organizing the reds, pinks, oranges, miscellaneous colors. Anyone else out there as bad as me??? Please... anyone... lol??!!

Photographing layouts

I just have to figure out some lighting options for photographing my layouts.. they look so wrong colored lately... either that or find out how to use a 'stitch' procedure with my scanner. When I look at some of the layouts I've uploaded and then at the one in my hand, they sometimes look completely different... anyone got any suggestions? I've tried using natural light but then there is that 'washed out' look...and the flash bounces off the photos if I use that... now I'm stumped!

Now, this one has no photo but you can see the flash bounce in the middle of the tree... also the paper looks bent around the middle even though it was laying flat on the table. The colors are close to the original but it still looks wrong to me. I made this for a challenge on the Sisterhood of Scrap... that's why the circles spell sisters... I am going to take that word off and use this page, with an addition of a title as the first page in the family tree album I am supposed to be making myself get done this year!

By the way, the tree image comes from the Graphics Fairy.. I love that blog!

I Was Looking At...

Some older layouts stored in a box... yes, I am ashamed to admit it... a box!!! While I was going through them I could see that some things don't change while others have changed a lot! I am still a chipboard addict but seem to have dropped using ribbon and fiber!! Funny how our 'styles' change with time, even slightly. There are even some that I really don't like anymore (gasp!!) but I remember how much fun I had doing challenges at some of the forums I used to go on in the beginning of my scrapping 'career'. I wonder how many of us do that. I really have to get busy and organize the really old photos and get that family tree done and into albums... here is one I did a long, long time ago... there are a few changes I'll make (like giving it better 'balance') but on the whole I still like this one.

This is my grandmother ... my mother is on the left of the photo and my aunt on the right... they were such cute little girls and complete opposites... one blonde and fair and one dark - they were best friends always.

The Crop For Kids ...

Was a blast!! Well, except for me getting hit with vertigo on Saturday morning...wow... I've never had that before and thank goodness it got better before I left the hotel room or I would never have made it to the crop room! It's still with me but not so bad... just have to move slow and not spend too much time on the computer. I did manage to get one PBA (paperbag book) finished and another one started... I have found (finally!) that after all the crops I've been to, I really just need a small project to do because I am so easily distracted by all the action in the room. So, now I don't need to pack half my scrap room with me anymore!! Here's my little book:

Where you can see flowers sticking out from the side, there are inserts there with more photos. This was made using 6 white paper bags and some chipboard for the covers as well as using up some older paper that I was hoarding because I loved it so much!! Flowers really appeal to me when they are easy to cut out of the paper!
