June Blog Hop At Lovebug!!

If you're reading this late, late on Friday night, you will have to wait till Saturday morning before hopping. I have my 6 year old grandaughter here this weekend and just know I won't be getting the post up early enough in the morning so thought I'd better get it posted while everyone is sleeping! So here goes:

Welcome to Lovebug Scrapbooking's "Inspire Us" blog hop! These blog hops take place on the last Saturday of every month. Thanks so much for joining in! If you happened to come here and didn't realize a blog hop was taking place, please go back to Lovebug Scrapbooking http://www.lovebugscrapbooking.wordpress.com/ and start the hop. You won't want to miss all the inspiration .... or the prizes. The theme for June is "Here Comes the Bride" which prompts me to post this little album I made for my nephew and his wife:

The album I made was all hand sanded around the scallops but I did make two of the pages with crackle paint around the edges just to show another way of finishing it off if you aren't into sanding... forever!!! (I didn't use them in the album) I kept it pretty simple inside to mainly just showcase the photos which were taken by a cousin.

I like making mini albums of important events because they can be put on a coffee table where just about everyone will take a peek. I did make a layout and framed it for them as well:

Leave a comment here or become a follower on my blog and get your name put in for a small prize from me!! I will draw on June 30th so check back here to see if you're a winner because if I don't know you, I will need your details to send it to you!
This blog hop will run from June 26th until June 29th. There will be a draw for winners on June 30th on the Lovebug Blog. Be sure to check and see if you're a winner! The next stop is back to Lovebug's Blog:

I'm Hooked!!

On paperbag albums!! Now that I've learned a new way to make them so that they are more like a book I can't seem to stop! There will be lots of homemade gifts this year... here's one I've just finished:

we started out on a walking/photo taking day and ended up at the elementary school near my house!
Isn't this a cute sign?!
I made one of the bottoms into a flap...there is a goofy photo of me that you can't see...lol!
And at the end of all our play we had to walk up a really steep hill home... we were pretty tired but sure had fun... which reminds me... don't ever forget how to play!!!
And I almost forgot to mention that I will be taking part in a blog hop starting on Saturday morning... it's with Lovebug Scrapbooking... I'll be posting when it's time and will include the links then so I hope you'll join us!

Another One!

I am having so much fun with the Basic Grey page layouts... finally getting myself away from all the mini albums for awhile. I have been changing the layouts a little from the instructions that come with the kits... there is so much paper left over that I am going to make more pages... I really liked the colors on this one.

this is the left page... those round things are small brads... the flower is all bling but doesn't really show up in these photos. Where the photo is, the original instructions had journaling but I like more than one photo on my layouts so added this one.
this is the right page.... it's supposed to be 4 small photos but I loved this one of Kate.... the 'mat' is pop dotted so that it is raised up and the photo kind of floats off of the background paper.
Now I'm onto making some cards... I am trying to get an early start on some gifts... I just hope I remember where they are when it's time to give gifts!

Thank You for following! And....

I'd like to thank all you scrappers/crafters that have taken a look at my blog and/or became followers. I've picked a name out of the box and the winner of a small rak from me is...... Stephanie ..... I'll get it off to you right away!
Something I've been following... or rather am obscessed with...lol... are the Basic Grey monthly page kits! I started last year and was pretty pleased with getting something accomplished and even happier with all the left overs that I could make more pages with! I've just finished May 2010's pages and although I did alter the original layouts that I was supposed to make, I did follow it mostly! I added more photos and changed a few things around and I have so much paper and embellishments left over I can make a couple more pages and probably some ATC's!!

and.... look at the leftovers!!!
there are full sheets of paper here...4 of them! And 3 sheets of more than half...lots of cards and trasparencies and some canvas tags... not to mention the alphbet and sticker sheet!!
