Liftateers - Week #5

Feeding the Goat was a page page to do.
I used the goats instead of the stars used on the page we were given.
I still have to find the date and journal on this one...but loved how those goats came out!

My Girl with Grandma feeding the goat before we went Blueberry Picking.

Here is the page we were given this week. This one is from Laura Vegas using Bella Blvd products.

Retreat: more cruising going on!

After skipping over the cave tubing page do to lack of pics. I went onto the next day starting with "Cruise Compass" Page. Port of Costa Maya, Mexico. Our excursion for this stop was cancelled. We walked around the market, grill/restaurant and swimming area.

We watched the Harbour Authority came out to the ship in the morning. Lined up a massage. Enjoyed a easy-going day.

The pages next to each other:

Here is where I have that mix of digital and 35mm photos to play around with. So, I skipped ahead and used my scrappy time wisely! Onto Grand Caymans, skipping the "Cruise Compass" Page and right to the excursion!

Grand Cayman Tour: Stingray City - Turtle Farm - Hell - Rum Cake Co. Excursion. I placed them out of order that we experienced them. BUT, As far as combined fun this excursion was the best experience.

Close up of the hexagons. I used the negative space leftovers from when I cut out a bunch of hexagons for another layout...see my Little "Sand Baby" layout. Using the same paper as under the photos I popped up the hexagons with foam tape for dimension and to add to the scuba driver's bubbles.

I searched for a stingray on the Cricut cartridges and NO LUCK! So, if anyone knows where to find one let me know!
I just positioned the next page waiting to see what I can find as far as the stingray goes!

The Turtle Farm - Page 1

The Turtle Farm - Page 2

My fussy cut turtles I made using 3 different inks and a sponge. Stamped with lighted first then sponged on lighter blue-green and then sponged on deep green around the edges. Stamped and fussy cut. Used tan to ink edges after fussy cutting.

The 2 page layout:

Now off the HELL!
Since I only had two pictures...The postcards I picked up were a great explanation of this roadside stop. I never mailed out a postcard but they postmark them from Hell! It's one of those quirky fun things to do!

Retreat: getting to cruise!

I started working on my Cruise pages from our Honeymoon as soon as I got the pictures developed back in 2005. But as I was going through I found that I was missing pictures. We had taken two cameras with us, actually (3) one was a disposable underwater type. So with a 35mm in one of our hands and the other got the digital camera there were a number of pics. I had all the digital pics organized and ready to go but the 35mm were missing, so I stopped working on the album. I did plan the page layouts and grouped what I had together so I was ready to go once I had all pics in hand. Well, it has been almost 8 years now in the works! I think it is about time to get this one done!

Here are the first two pages that were completed in the album. I used hybrid (the term at that time) scrapbooking for the 1st opening page. Mixing some digital scrapbooking elements with traditional scrapbooking.

Next page I had already completed was:

Here is the beginning of all created at the retreat. This happens to be the adjoining page (to above) I worked on and finished at the retreat:

Since this was our 1st "True" Cruise I never took too many pictures of the ship...Just enjoyed the experience! We did take to cruise to the Bahamas from Florida. It was a great start to the vacation and a little taste of cruising. My husband claims were going to go on another Cruise for our 10 year Anniversary! I told him, "Well you better get busy! Because our 10 year is only a year and a few months away!" Meanwhile I was thinking I needed to do the same with this album!

The first day we were at sea. So, we checked out the ship and didn't get too many pictures. We were on the Explorer of the Seas, which had mini-golf, basket court, pools, clubs, casino, different dining, shows & ice skating rink.

Our Dining Pic: We did bring more dresser outfits. But, only ate in formal dining twice but enjoyed the buffet style dining best. Mainly, because you can come when you want and didn't have to ready for a specific seating time.

The two pages together:

So, quickly it seems to get to Day 3: Belize. We did a cave tubing excursion...those pics I used a waterproof camera during the excursion. Of course, I forgot to pack those pics for the retreat. So, I only got the "Cruise Compass" page competed. I used the Cricut - Pack Your Bags Cartridge to make the swim shorts...my husband forgot to pack his so we did a little shopping on the ship.

More to come..........

Back from the weekend retreat

It was a great time and I enjoyed quite a few laughs...

I have to say the best incident was a delay in supper being served and it sparked a scene from the Snickers commercial.

Great Bunch of Ladies to scrap with!

Over all I came home with 23 pages...
SO that works out to be...
* 9 pages completely finish just need to slide them into the correct albums.
* 11 pages that just need the date added or just a touch of something.
BUT mainly just the correct date...since when I printed them they only had the month and/or year.
* 3 pages started and a bunch of photos cropped and ready to go!

I had brought a bunch of Christmas pictures to scrap and a pile of cards with ideas...BUT just needed more time!!!!!!

This was the 1st time I attended a crop/retreat with nothing ready to go...
What I mean is I usually pull all the papers to match the photos and group them together and even sometimes include those embellishments too!
Which means a bunch of extra paper bins loaded up...

Here is some of what I got done on Friday!

A Random Fun Page to get me going...
