Happy Harvest!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Thanksgiving to those that are celebrating!  My kids are off today thru Friday and we are off to shop for hubby’s birthday present…he celebrates his 45th Birthday on Thanksgiving.  Do I have any idea what I’m getting?  ummm NO…not really…LOL…except one small thing I already picked out.  Last year I combined his birthday and anniv present and got him an iPad…best darn prezzie I ever got him because he uses it everyday.  This year…well I’m just befuddled other than some clothes.  He doesn’t really have hobbies I can buy for…he has all the golf stuff and he likes RC Airplanes but he has all that and I haven’t a clue what to get for that.  Sooooo I’m taking kids to mall to figure SOMETHING out…some divine intervention that will say “oh yeah, that’s what he needs” LOL!  Not that we have to get him anything I know…but I want to get him SOMETHING! OY!  And then I have to finish laundry, pack and get cats all squared away.  Alexa’s BFF comes and takes care of the cats while we are away but I have to everything out for her.  And last night I picked up a new cat to foster from the rescue…my other 2 babies got adopted on Sunday…so happy for them but I miss them.  So I have a 2 yr old cat named “Winston” that likes to lay in your lap LOL.  My 7 animals just look at me like “another one? seriously?” heehee, they are used to it!  We are headed to my parents for an early Thanksgiving meal and then hubby and I are headed away thru Sunday for a belated getaway w/o the teens…yippeee!  Looking forward to some downtime and just hanging out…where are we going?  Well it’s a surprise but its not too far away cuz’ I was in NO mood to travel far right now KWIM?

Anywho I hope you all have a fabulous holiday, spent with those you love most and enjoy that time together Smile  Next week I have lots to do…projects, chorus concerts and 12 Christmas trees to start putting up…yup a lot on my ole’ to-do list, nothing new right? LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I’m sharing my last fall card with you that I made for the current TouchTwin Challenge HERE!  (go enter for a chance to win 12 markers, you can use any markers on your image)  The current challenge is a photo inspiration that is “fall inspired” so I had to bring out an oldie-but-goodie…one of my fave Lockhart Stamp Co stamps “Harvest Candle”(25% off).  I love, love Lockhart stamps when I need a change from the cute & cuddly stamps KWIM…so many gorgeous images to choose from and super fun to color!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

I used Paper Trey Ink cardstock and ribbon (I use their cs 95% of the time cuz’ I love it) and then a sheet of paper from my friend Mindy’s paper pack for Little Darlings “Chocolate Covered Cherry” HERE!  I embossed the darker cream cs with this embossing folder and inked the edges.  Around my main image I used a Spellbinders flourish die cut out of cream cs and the orange flowery diecut is a Memory Box Die (Catalina Wreath).  I cut the wreath into pieces to make it work for me…I cut all my diecuts into pieces, I like to use them in lots of different ways.  The sentiment is from PTI as well!

The TouchTwin colors are listed above for you…if you haven’t tried them then what are you waiting for?  They are fabulous and in my honest opinion right up there with Copics (in fact I prefer the TouchTwin ink)!  I used Diamond Glaze on the hurricane glass over the candle.  I used Liquid Pearls in Rouge on the winterberries for more texture.

Have a wonderful Holiday…eat till you pop…shop till you drop…whatever it is that pleases you most!  Hugs to all!

Harvest Pilgrim!!

Happy Monday everyone & a wonderful beginning of November!! I have lots to share with you this week so I hope you'll stop by everyday! Tecnically I will be out of town this Wednesday thru Sunday to celebrate my wedding anniversary but I will have blog entries pre-posted thru Friday for ya! I'm looking forward to some time away without the kids (they're going to my parents house along w/ the doggies) alone with the hubster!

Did everyone have a fabulous weekend? My daughter left with friends on Saturday to go trick-or-treating and will be back today--she went on a friends boat for the weekend as well. I have some Halloween pics below to share with you of our house and my son & his friend. I won't have any pics of my daughter until she gets home today since she dressed at a friend's house and she has to email me some, hee hee. Both of the kids have off of school today & tomorrow (ACK) for school in-service & voting day, so they only have school on Wednesday before they go to Grandma's--short week for them!

Pilgrim Harvest

Since I saw the Spooky Collection from Magnolia--I knew I would use this "Witch Tilda with Pumpkins" as a lil' pilgrim girl! She's just too cute to be a scary witch, hee hee, and this makes her very versatile for fall! I paired her up with the "Large Pumpkin & Leaves" (which is on sale) to make a cute Thanksgiving card & matching pumpkin table favor! Both of these stamps are available at Magnolia-licious!

I used Basic Grey's "Indian Summer" papers paired with PTI cs (orange zest, scarlet jewel, dark chocolate)--I love the warm, fall colors in these papers! This lil' cutie got colored with Copics and then cut out & popped up in front of the large pumpkin. I added some flourishes around the frame with PTI's "Fancy Flourishes" set and some stardust stickles to her petticoat trim and pumpkin. To create the multi-colored shading around the edges I used my Inkssentials Blending Tool & SU inkpads--if you don't have a airbrush system (or you do like me, but am too lazy to pull it out, hee hee) this is a great & fast alternative to get soft shading around your images. The sentiment is from PTI's "2009 Autumn Tags" set along with the ribbon--double bow was tied with my Bow Easy. The pretty center jewel is from Prima's "Say It With Pearls"--see HERE.

I just adore this lil' cutie! Her shoes & the lil' pumpkins got a coat of diamond glaze too! Colors used on her dress are E49,E47,E44,E43,E42 and R37,R35,R32--pumpkin colors are YR18,YR15,YR12,YR01,YR00 and YR24.

So I of course had to make a lil' pumpkin favor box to go along with her! I cut out 3 ovals with my oval nestabilities, shaded the edges & layered them together with dimensionals. I cut out a stem & the leaves are from a MS leaf punch. Some ribbon, a button, twine and another sentiment from the same PTI set finish the front off!

This is the side view--I made a 3x3 box to attach to the pumpkin that you could fill with lots of fall goodies (I put some tulle & a gourd in mine)! Wouldn't these be cute sitting on your holiday table at every place setting! They're super easy & quick to make too! (3x3 box is a 7x7" pc of cs scored at 2 inches on every side) Hope you enjoyed all the projects today & love them as much as I do :o)

This and That!!

Hello everyone & Welcome to the last week of September!! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Ours was pretty good minus the rain, hee hee! Hubby took the kids bowling yesterday so I could finished up all my projects yesterday. The last week of the month is always the busiest it seems as I'm finishing up deadlines and new releases--ack, but I did get it all done thankfully. Then we ordered in pizza (love that you can order online & track your pizza at Domino's Pizza, LOL), got our jammies on & watched the movie "17 Again" which was really cute--a good family movie! Now back to the work week I guess, LOL!

This Christmas card I just love, cuz' I adore Santa's, hee hee! This fabulous ornament stamp called "Bulb w/ Santa" from I Brake For Stamps (if you want to order from this fabulous store, make sure to use the discount code "SAVE10SUZANNE" for 10% off your order)!! I love the vintage feel to this stamp--I stamped the stamp on cream cardstock & then added just a bit of color w/ Copics. The dp is Basic Grey's "Wassail" and I added some stardust Stickles to Santa's coat and used a gold Spica pen on the tree trimmings. The sentiment is from PTI's new "Stocking Prints" set and I embossed it in gold ink--I added some mini jingle bells to the ends, aren't they cute & they DO jingle :o)

Here's a close up to show you the shimmer that is on the ornament--I used gold Inspirations Paint on the edges for a nice shimmer! The bow was made with my Bow-Easy of course! Do ya love it like I do, hee hee?

Second card uses a new stamp from Lockhart Stamp Co. called "Cornucopia"--isn't it fab!! I colored the image with copics & then added some diamond glaze to some of the fruit, stickles to the leaves & I used my clear and red Spica pens to add some soft sparkle! The dp is by Melissa Frances and those are some fab Kaiser pearls along the bottom & at the top corners. The double bow was made with my fave Bow Easy--if you don't have one it is soooooo worth the $5 I tell ya!! This is an easy fall card to make & a wonderful way to say hello this fall season!!

Make sure & stop by here tomorrow to see all the fabulous new stamps that are being released by Susana's Custom Art & Card Design! It's a double release, so stamps from Elisabeth Bell & Victoria Case, wow!!

See ya tomorrow!

Hugz,
Suzanne
