Hi everyone! Long time, no see huh? Sorry about that but between the last 2 weeks of school with the teens (ughhhhh shoot me) AND my lower back totally going out...its not been so good. They say that freshman & junior years of high school are the hardest and I fully agree with that statement. WELL I had teens in BOTH those grades at the same time so this past school year has beaten us down. Not to mention that every single one of their teachers assigned huge end of year projects and papers AND the last week of school is all exams...OMGeeee...KILLER! Not just for them but for me as I'm "project helper" and "paper editor" in this house and they are moody & stressed which then rubs off on me LOL...so it was a tense couple of weeks ugh. But thankfully school is done with for the year until September...phewwww! Although both the kids have summer AP projects...Alexa has ones for AP Government, AP Statistics and AP Literature and 7 books to read...Riley has 2 projects for AP History and AP English. And I'm big on NOT waiting until the week before so they know after our vacation that they will be starting on them and not scrambling at last minute. Not to mention Alexa has college essays to start and scholarships to research over summer too.
My back is...well its not so good! Some days I can barely move, most days I'm walking hunched over and sitting hunched over at my craft table is KILLER. So I had to take some time off from that. But I am getting treatments for it...I will probably have surgery at the end of summer. NO its not a fusion type of surgery, but removal of a mass that's on nerves. Just pushing it off a bit as much as I can. So that's why there's not been much posted here. I've got a very high pain level so I'm still able to get stuff done, still cleaning the house, organizing, cooking, working LOL but some things like coloring just couldn't be done on some days...I've missed it :(
I do have a ton of new posts at my other blog "Bitz of Me" including some of my own personal recipes I've shared if you want to check those out. I have 6 more projects to do before I leave on the 23rd of June for vacation so there will be more posts here....stay tuned :)

Gina K Card Club Kit Preview!!
Hiya Everyone--I'm back with a second post for today (if you missed earlier posts, just page down for the Pink Cat Release)!! This is the last preview day of the week for Gina K's new releases--all the stamp sets and Card Kit will be available for purchase HERE tomorrow!
So tonight I'm showcasing this fabulous new stamp set called "Wishes & Dreams" and this set was illustrated by Gina K's daughter, Alicia! The images are super cute and lots of great sentiments included too--and if you purchase this stamp set you will get the Card Club Kit with it as well for FREE! How's that for a deal? But while you can buy this stamp set after this month, this Card Club Kit will only be available this month--so run & get yours (you'll get some fabulous cut cs and card ideas with your kit)
I love anime images--I like to draw them & they're so much FUN to color! When you look at anime illustrations you'll see that the manga artists color them a bit differently--not as much blending, sharper shading and more detail in the hair & eyes. Of course you can color them however you like but I always like to mix it up a bit! If you're looking for ideas on coloring anime images--google it, and you will get a ton of great sites to visit!
As soon as I saw this cutie I thought she deserved to be decked out like a rockstar, hee hee! She's colored with Copics and then I paired her up with this FAB dp by Dovecraft and the NEW Gina K cs in Passionate Pink! The ribbon that I used is new too from Gina K the double bow was created with my Bow Easy! This set also comes with some fun accessories like a wand and the swirly stars which I stamped around my main image. And it wouldn't be complete without lots of stickle sparkles on her wings, stars & background paper! (and ps. the sentiment is really straight IRL, hee hee--think the camera angle was bad)
Using the same "Wishes & Dreams" set I picked another sweet image and created a Diorama Card/Shadow Box (find instructions for this HERE)--I could just picture this lil' fairy asleep in the forest! I colored the image with Copics and then cut it out so I could pop her up with dimensionals on the inside of the card--and the mushroom got a lot of diamond glaze on top for shine! The paper is from Basic Grey and both the NEW cs from Gina K called "Wine with Everything" (isn't that name fab? hee hee) is included as well in the Card Kit (ribbon assortments will be available to purchase separately as well & they're gorgeous). I punched some MS branches out and added stickles to them for sparkle--so it looks like we're peeking thru the foliage at the lil' sleeping fairy :o)
Hope you liked my samples for this evening & remember if you want to purchase any of these sets they will be available tomorrow right HERE!

Fairies, Candies, Oh My!
Hiya & Happy Tuesday to ya all! Well we're slowly into the week from heck for me, LOL! Just lots goin' on & lots to get done as usual. Today I have to get my son to his pulmonologist appointment (fight traffic in rush hour, and race back to try & get him back to school before noon) and then drive Alexa to gymnastics and somewhere in between find time to complete projects & make dinner, hee hee! And I'm still stunned & depressed over the death of Patrick Swayze--I knew he was sick, but it always comes as a bad shock ya know?! I have always adored "Dirty Dancing", "Ghost" & "The Outsiders" that he was in and have watched them more times than I can admit to ya, hee hee! And I always admired the drama free & loyal romance he had with his wife for so many years--gotta love that! Anywhoo, movin' on..........

Copic Creations Challenge!!
The fairy I used is called "Chicory Fairy" and you can see/buy their stamps HERE! This was very fun to color but oh so detailed to do. And I hadn't used my Prismas in over a year, but it was fun to pull them out again. The sentiment is from a Verve Stamps set I have and the ribbon is Offray!
Now make sure and stop by the Copic Creations Challenge Blog to see the rest of the DT's fabulous creations & find out how you can enter the challenge as well!
Try It Out Tuesday for SCACD!
For my card today I used one of the fabulous NEW Lockhart Stamp Co. images called "Candy Wreath"--you can see/buy all the new Lockharts right HERE. I colored mine with copics and then added diamond glaze to the candies & diamond stickles to the wrappers for lots of sparkle! I cut it out w/ my circle nestabilities so it would look like a fun wreath on the front of my card along w/ a fab bow!
Now make sure and stop by the "Follow Your Heart" blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with for ya today!
That's all for me today--see ya back here tomorrow!

Perfectly Plummy Petals!!
Hello again & happy Tuesday! I'm off and running again today--my goodness! Riley has another dr's appt today & then goes to see a pediatric pulmonologist on Thursday--ack! Poor kid! Hopefully we will get this resolved real soon---thanks to everyone for their well wishes, they're very much appreciated! On a cheerier note, I finished an awesome book last night called "American Wife" (loosely based on Laura Bush) so now I've started the "Jackie & Bobby" novel and my book club selection "The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society"--I'll let you know how they are, hee hee!
NewsBitz:
-Copic Class Schedule is as follows: Sunday, August 23rd and Sunday, September 20th at 1:00-4:30 at my house! Email me for all the details!
-PDF file for the below totebag template is right HERE (will also be on my sidebar under pdf files)
-Whiff of Joy is now accepting pre-orders for their fabulous Fall Kit until August 7th--order your's HERE! (10 Elisabeth Bell stamps for $36)
********************************************So today is Try It Out Tuesday for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design and I've challenged the DT to create a gift of any kind using one of the *NEW* Elisabeth Bell for SCACD stamps! I decided to use this cutie-patootilicious fairy called "Spunkette"--isn't she adorable?! I paired her up with this fabulous plummy dp by Cloud9Design and used my totebag template to create my gift and matching card!
I've made a totebag template/directions for you right HERE if you're interested. After coloring "Spunkette" with Copics twice & cutting her out--I added her to this fun flower for the front of my bag. The top flowers are all Primas--the mini roses were white & then I added iced lavender Shimmerz to the tops of the petals and then threaded the stem thru 2 more Prima flowers. The circle has a transparency front that I stamped with PTI's "Fancy Flourishes" stamps in white Palette Ink.
This is what the inside holds--some fun & pretty fairy goodies!! I forget where I picked these up, but I knew I could use them for something fun, lol! So the gift holds a body butter lotion, 2 lipgloss lollipops, & Body Splash in Raspberry Swirl--smells YUM!
Here is the matching card I made to go along with the gift--I purposely left off a sentiment so it could be given for any occasion. I added a fun ribbon treatment to the corners and some lavender glitter dots to the bottom!
And of course no fairy is complete without lots of shimmer, hee hee! I used both diamond stickles and iced lavender Shimmerz on her skirt petals, wings & flower! Her hair was colored with the SJD Copic Bundle "Blonde Hair 2" and the purples were done with the "Lavenders Bundle" along with the new V0000 copic color.
Now head on over to the store blog "Follow Your Heart" to see the rest of the DT's fabulous projects!!Second project today (staying in the same pleasing plum color scheme, lol) is a set of notecards I made using one of my absolute favorite Lockhart Stamp Co. stamps "Tulips" since they are my favoritest flower! I made 4 of these A2 sized notecards lickety-split using PTI's dotted dp and cs. Tulips were colored with Copics (same lavenders as above) and then a coat of iced lavender Shimmerz on top of the petals. Fun & pretty notecards to send out to a friend dontcha' think? Both of my projects today are for sale in my Etsy shop--on sidebar if you're interested!
Hope you enjoyed my projects today! Below are a couple of informative photos/directions that I was asked to share:To create a shaped card like the one's I made HERE with your Nestabilities all you need to do is crease your cardstock and place onto your die cutting machine (mine is a Cuttlebug--love it). Then take your shaped die (this is a Scalloped Circle Nestability) and place on top of cs positioning the die just a "tad bit" over the edge of the crease so it creates a fold for the card.
And this is what it looks like when you're done--a nice shaped card that's ready to decorate!
To create a decorative edge using Nestability dies like on this card HERE; just pick your die that you want to use (I'm using Labels 1) & slide your cs thru the die (needs to be cut to size of the die) so only the edge of the cardstock is underneath the die. Then roll thru your machine--this leaves you with a beautiful edge for your cards.
Hope that was enuff' info for you today & I didn't lose you along the way, LOL!! See ya back here tomorrow!

Suzanne

Some Contemplation & Happy Pinks!!
Hello friends! Ever have one of those days where you just wanna closet yourself away from the world and take a break? Yeah, I'm having one of them--yesterday was a little emotionally draining for me & I was contemplating on what makes a really great friend. I can count on one hand my really, really close girlfriends that I trust ya know--isn't funny how as you get older you get more "choosy" about who you spend your precious time & life with?
I think that as women in general one of our downfalls is that we're too judgemental of other women and too quick to cash in with nastiness & snipes. I think if we were more supportive of each other the world would change ya know---now don't get me wrong cuz' I'm not speaking about every woman (so don't be offended), but you know men never critique another man's weight, shoes or hair or successes. They're more judgemental on the character & personality of a person & I think that's great to see a person as they are & not as they "seem" because we're caught up in jealousy, envy or perverse unhappiness with ourselves that we have to react badly to others--its never good & always hurtful. Anyhow, the "Freud" in me is done contemplating with it & I've decided to clear the "garbage" that surrounds me---life's too short to deal with negativity. I choose happiness & positivity always, I'm an optimist at heart & sometimes am too naive to people's outward gestures w/o seeing what's trully behind it and then hurt when it turns out opposite of what I think. Taking a step up in life & changing that! So enuff on that & back to happy stuff, hee hee.....
NewsBitz:
-Have you heard that Flower Soft is coming out with a sparkly Polar White--I'm super excited!
-Magnolia-licious also has a fabulous deal on the ENTIRE set of new Copic colors (all extra light colors), all 12 colors for $69 (savings of almost $10)--I ordered mine already & can't wait!
-Paper Trey Inks (PTI) new releases come out on the 15th---have you seen the sneakie peekies HERE! Awesome! So I've got too happy projects to share with you today! The first uses this lovely new Magnolia stamp available at Magnolia-licious called "Tilda Picking Lilacs" from the Chasing Butterflies Collection. The lovely old-fashioned dp is by Melissa Frances. I cut her out with my Nestabilities Labels 4 & matted her on top of 2 more Labels 4 cut-outs. The border of the white cs & corners were done with my favorite MS Doily Lace border punch (buy here)--I will warn you though that her border punches do not punch thru thick cs like PTI's (bummer). The charm can be bought in a package right HERE and the flowers are white Petaloo Mulberry's that I sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz (in Bed of Roses)-then I added a small Prima rose to the center. Love to spray things with my spritz, hee hee--too much fun!
I had to add some flower soft (baby pink) to her flowers, stickles to her shoes/hairbands and then Shimmerz Spritz (baby's breath) to the entire card! Pink pearls(blush) finish the corners off! (Copics used were dress/G00, G02,G07; pinks R20/R21; hair Y21, YR20, YR23)
Second card is a fun kinda rock-n-roll, teeny-bopper card I made for my daughter's friend! I had won this stamp from my super talented friend Katie Cotton who is the owner of Paper Makeup Stamps--fabulously cute fairy stamps that you should check out! This one is my fave and it's named after "Katie" (she's a make-up artist to boot, the real live Katie that is, giggle). I colored her with Copics to match this fun dp from Dovecraft "Glamour Prints" and of course added baby's breath Shimmerz Spritz to the entire card--love me that shimmer! I added lots of black to make it more teen-cool & some fun black rhinestones too. Alexa's friend loved it, so I guess I did good! Make sure and check out the whole line of fairies & others at Paper Makeup Stamps, you're sure to find one or two (or four, hee hee) that touch your heart! (Thanks Katie!!)
That's all for me today--I'll see ya back here tomorrow!

Bling It On!!
Hello Friends! I'm feeling a bit under the weather today so I'm going to keep my monologue super short-so no chit-chat from me today :o( Hope your week is going awesome for ya so far!
Just a quick FYI: I have a new PDF file to share with everyone if you're interested! It's a list of starter colors of Copics that I recommend to anyone starting their collection. Each color family has a light, medium & dark tone recommended for it so they easily work together/blend & are great to build on!! It's listed on my sidebar under "PDF Files--Copic Starter List"! So today is Try It Out Tuesday #15 for Susana's Custom Art & Card Design store! This week I've challenged the DT to "Bling It On" their projects--use lots of bling-y embellishments that they could! Check out the store blog "Follow Your Heart" to see the rest of the DT's blingy projects & we'd love to have you join in too!
My first card for the challenge uses Lockhart's "Hydrangea & Berries"!--if you're interested in seeing how I created the main image using Flower Soft, Smooch & glitter-you can check out my video tutorial under "Other Video Tutorials--Using Flower Soft in Fun Ways"! The dp is from Dream Street Papers (thanks Susana) & I kept the layout simple & fresh! Very patriotic me thinks! The pearls in the corners are Kaiser & the ribbon is from PTI. I also used my new Labels 3 Nestabilities--love the shape!!
**When using Smooch on Flower Soft--it takes 24 hours to dry depending on how much you use!! Up Close shot of the Flower Soft with glitter applied while wet and then Azure Smooch metallic paint on top! The berries were done with Liquid Pearls & I also used Diamond Glaze on the jar!
Susana has a deal right now on the Smooch paints--buy 7 & get the 8th one free!

Fairy Grateful!!
My card today uses another Faerie Art Song stamp called "Would You Be My Friend" that you can purchase here. I just adore these cute lil' pixie stamps--they have the loveliest expressions! I colored her with Copics and this yummo-licious dp is from Dovecraft's "Glamour" pack (lovee it)! Those flower centers are Bella Baubles (I used lemonade) which you can get at Susana's store along with the Dovecraft dp, Shimmerz and pixie stamp. That cute lil sentiment is from H&M Stamp Co's "Fairy Tales" set which will be on sale Jan. 6th & 7th and includes lots of cute sentiments to use with the fairies! I punched out 3 butterflies w/ my MS punch and layered them--the vellum layer on top also got a coat of iced lavender shimmerz.

1 Sketch, 2 Ways!!
Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Are you celebrating tonight or keeping it lowkey? My daughter is going to a sleepover and my hubby, me and son are going to a neighbor's home for a low-key dinner party. I'm a nightowl anyway so staying up past midnite is a "non-event" for me, LOL! Our hotel room in NYC overlooked where the ball drops on New Year's Eve so the kids thought that was cool! I'm wishing each and everyone of you a Happy New Year and I hope it brings you all you wish for and more!!! Both of my cards today use Julee's (Vervegirl) Mojo Monday sketch #67 which is so versatile and easy to use. For this particular card I used my favorite fairy stamp "Willow" from Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. This yummy dp is by Dovecraft called "Aquamarine" and I just lovee the soft colors and patterns in it---you can only buy it here in the US at Susana's store if you're interested! I used my new favorite product, Scrappers Floss, to make the curly-q around the ribbon and the sentiment is from PTI's "Heartfelt Basics"(trully a super versatile set).
This is a closeup so you can see the shimmer from using Shimmerz in "iced lavender & angel wings". I color with Copics first and then paint over it w/ the Shimmerz---they're very sheer and dry very quickly, just love 'em!
The second card made with this sketch uses H&M Stamp's "Miracle From Above" set--which has the greatest images and sentiments for baby/new parent cards. I intentionally used neutral colors on this card so that it would be appropriate for a girl or boy! This lovely dp is by Basic Grey "Lily Kate"--so soft and pretty. I colored with Copics and gave this new Mom some "sassiness" by adding some sparkles to her shirt w/ Stickles. We all know new mom's need some extra bling :o) Don't forget H&M Stamps is having a HUGE SALE on Jan.6th & 7th and all stamp sets will be $5 (I have alot on my list to buy at this great price)! If you wondering why I keep reminding you, well its such an AWESOME deal on all their sets that I don't want ya to forget, LOL!
Ok, if you've been anxious to see some sneak peeks of the new Whiff of Joy stamps--make sure and check out Katarina's blog! I haven't gotten mine yet (whine) but can't wait to get 'em cuz' they are all super cute & you WILL adore them!
Have a safe and Happy New Year's tonight! I'll be back tomorrow with a TON of projects for you including the Whiff of Joy "Project of the Month"!

Suzanne

Fantasy!!
Happy December 2nd (ack only 23 days till Christmas) everyone! I have my ladies luncheon today so I will TRY & keep this short, lol! I've got lots to do yet so let's get to it!! BTW, I changed up my blog--whatcha' think? Both of my cards today feature new faeries from Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. I love this fairy "Natasha"--she reminds me of the Bellas but more fantastical & graceful! I colored her w/ Copics to match up with this yummy dp from SU called "Urban Garden". I inked SU inks around the edges of her with my Ranger Inkssentials Blending Tool to make a woodland bg for her. I used my fern punch to create the greenery from the dp. Around the edges of the cs pieces and her wings I used my Liquid Silver pen for some extra sparkle & lots of stickles on her wings too. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps "Beautiful You"--lovee this set!

Pixie Land!!
Happy Thursday to you all! The sun is finally out for a day & its supposed to be freezing w/ snow showers here tomorrow--ahhh, what gives! We never have snow before Thanksgiving--is global warming for real,LOL! Enuff about my weather--I have new goodies to share with you--yippee!
Are these pixies not the CUTEST you've evah seen? (no I don't say that alot, hee hee)These pixies are from a new line called Faerie Art Song and you can get them (there are many) at my friend Susana's store, Susana's Custom Art & Card Design. They are literally flying (hee, hee) off the shelves so get 'em quick!
NOTE: IF she is out of stock of the one you'd like, DO NOT PANIC--she has more coming in. You can email her at susana@susanascustomartandcarddesign.com and she will hold the stamp(s) you like when they come in so you don't miss out :o) This first card uses the pixie "Kyra" sitting on her lil' moon--so whimsical & lovely! I paired her up with some of this gorgeous DCWV "luxury stack" dp and shimmery navy cs from PTI--just a gorgeous combo me thinks. I colored with Copics and added some navy ink around the edges with my Ranger Inkssentials blending tool (love this thing, if you don't have one rush out & get it cuz' it makes blending your inks so easy & soft)! If you click to make larger you'll see the diamond stickles and these cool GeoSparklers from Stampendous on her--they're like lil jewels for your cards. I punched some scroll punches and added some star jewels scattered around. The sentiment is from Verve Stamp's "Starlight Starbright" set--fits perfectly me thinks.
The second card uses the cutie "Bryony" sitting on her lil' mushroom--just precious dontcha' think! She's colored with Copics too but the bg was done with my Twinkling H2O's--second picture shows the shimmer better & then I rubbed some wheat colored ink around the edges. The lucious dp is from DCWV "Once Upon a Time" stack--perfect to use w/ these pixies. My layout comes from this week's SCS sketch #203. I added ribbon from PTI and some Primas with gold robin's nest centers. So if ya love faeries and pixies make sure and grab some of these!
Be back tomorrow with some big news, an invite and lotsa projects--so get ready for a lonnng post tomorrow!
hugz,
Suzanne
