Sam said, " I included polka dots into a previous challenge and everyone who took part seemed to enjoy it, so I thought we could resist them again and have fun!"

So with that in mind and a stack of baby Lara photos for my project life type album I set to work and made a set of cards.

I used 4 Stampotique rubber stamps for this project. Daniels present stacks are just perfect for what I wanted!  Now it's over to you to join in the fun, there is a link to the SDC blog on the right of this post.

Stampotique Designers Challenge 192: Springs

This week our hostess is Valerie and she has us thinking Spring.

She said " in my town where I live there is still snow on the ground, I hoping that if we keep thinking"spring" really hard, that spring will arrive! To encourage the arrival of spring, I'd like to see you actually use springs, or something that makes things spring off your project.

So with that in mind I went to find some little plastic coil springs I had purchased but not got round to using yet! Once found, that took a while! I got to work and produced this set of PL cards.

The large butterfly is spring mounted ... Here are a few photos to show how I made them........
I started by flicking masking fluid on my cards, leaving it to dry then using Ken Oliver's colour bursts to give a lovely bright spring colour effect....
Next I found my spring, some ink and STAMPOTIQUE butterfly stamps by Jo Capper Sandon

Then I found a rub on and put that on the larger card
Then attached a cut out large butterfly to the spring
Then attached it to the card over the main image
TheRe is my wobbly flying butterfly!
Now it's over to you to join in the fun at the SDC blog, there is a link on the right of this post to the blog so you can show us what you can make spring off your project!

SDC 191: Circles

Our hostess this week at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog is Magda, her challenge has us running round in circles!

She said," I like using shapes, in my projects especially circles. They can give interesting effects on your project, dependant on the way they are used! I would love to see circles on your creations, how you use them depends on your imagination"

So with this in mind I set to work and made this set of Project Life cards.
Here are a few photos of how I made them..... I used 4 Stampotique rubber stamps to make them!

Come and join in the fun at the SDC blog there is a link on the right of this post .....

Stampotique Designers Challenge 190: Stitches

This week our hostess is Coby and she has us all in stitches!

Coby said, ' I love stitches in my creations, sometimes stamped, sometimes made by hand and sometimes with the sewing machine. I challenge you to use stitching in your creation this week.

So with that in mind I made a set of Project Life cards with stitching, round them!
Here are a few pictures I took while making them..... I used my Gelli plate to make the bright cheerful background then a 4x6 and 3x4 die with stitches round the outside to cut the cards out.
Next I stamped on them with France's mug splat and these two Stampotique rubber stamps
Then I stamped these four squares with the dots .... Fab stamp from Stampotique! And added the letters into the box. Then I stamped Laugh and cut it out and stuck it on and went round the stitching with a black pen.
The two smaller cards stamped Stampotique laughter and added to white card with a photo
Then using a Tim Holtz stitch ruler made holes round the card
Next used a pen to make stitches
And there you have it .... Hope that gives you a bit of an idea how I made these cards using 7 Stampotique rubber stamps
Now it's your turn to get your stamps out, any stamps are fine and show us what you can make with stitching at the SDC blog, there is a link on the right hand side of this post to the blog.
Thank you Coby for a fun challenge

Nothing dark, monochrome or grungy please, we want bright, vibrant, and cheerful, you don't have to use every colour in the rainbow all at once, but maybe lots of them. More info can be found here.
With this in mind I made a set of Project Life cards.

And the prize is these stamps
There is also a winner choose by the DT and they will have a GDT  slot for a upcoming challenge and they will feature in a winners profile blog post.

So get your bright colours and your stamps out and have fun and join in.

Here are a few step by step pictures of how I made my PL cards. I started with a 4x6 and two 3x4 blank white cards and flicked masking fluid over them and left them to dry. Once dry I started to add colour using distress inks
Once the card was fully covered I started to run the masking fluid off, to reveal the white splats underneath.
Then I stamped my word on each card
Next I used stencils and white ink and a dauber and added ink to the cards through the dauber.
Then I used a die to get the stitch round the edge, this I did will all three cards .
