Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #54

Good morning everyone! Here we are starting a new week. Can you believe it is Monday already? The weekend just flies by.

This is a Eureka image - Draped Cross with Thorns. I thought this was the perfect image for our Easter challenge. I created the sentiment inside and out, you can find it here at Sentimental Susan. I colored the cloth with Prismacolor pencils and the thorns with Copic. I paper pieced some patterned paper (wood grain) for the cross. I used an embossing folder on the white cardstock behind it. The scallops are from a Spellbinder die. I used some white and purple cardstock for this card. I thought the image and the sentiments said it all and I didn't want to make it too complicated or busy.

Challenges:

This was a good weekend. I just can't believe it is already over. We went to church yesterday for a good sermon. We worked out in the garden and got it all ready to plant; we even planted some onion. I can't plant most of the plants yet, because we are still expecting freezing weather this week. It was a beautiful weekend though.

I believe we are expecting some rain today. I'm going to stop at the gym on my way home to swim. Bailey has an orchestra concert tonight so that is where we will be. And that's about it. Just another day at work :)  I hope you all have a wonderful day/evening!!

    Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #40

Happy Monday everyone!! Today we have a new challenge for you at Tammy's Scrapin Corner!!  We are on Challenge #40 which is a Shaped Card with a Christmas Theme! I used an image from QKR Stampede - In The Manger.

I used Prismacolor pencils to color the image which was printed on Kraft paper. The papers are Teresa Collins - Christmas Cottage. Pretty simple card. And it was fun to do this Rocker Card.

    Challenges:

Yesterday we spent the majority of the day at church. The children put on their musical and it was wonderful!! So much fun!!

Now it's time to head off to work. It's hard going to work when I feel like I have so much I have to get done LOL But! It will keep me occupied. Have a great day everyone!!

Crafting When We Can - Bingo

Good morning everyone!! It's time for another challenge at Crafting When We Can... We are on Challenge #33 and our theme this week is a BINGO card!!! I hope you enjoy this challenge as much as I did!! Our sponsor this week is MilkCoffee. On the Bingo Card  I used Dots, Orange, Clean and Simple.

This is colored with both Copic and Prismacolor pencils. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The image is Madeline and Neapolitan Ice Cream from MilkCoffee. I used orange rhinestones and Candi - Icing Sugar.. which I colored orange with my Copic YR18 and YR16. Thats it... I colored the ice cream cone mint chocolate chip LOL Because it's my favorite!

    Challenges:

I am so behind on everything. This past week was full of everything between Christmas and Immigration.

When I last posted Kevin was about to head to his interview. His interview was last Tuesday at the American Consulate in Sydney. He was only in there for a couple of hours and we had our approval. His plane didn't fly out until that evening, so he had a day to waste in Sydney. Then he hopped on a plane back to Brisbane. They had told him it would take about 5 business days to get his Visa and they had given him a tracking number. We weren't going to book a flight until we had that Visa in his hand. So, he hopped on his bike and was SUPPOSE to get a hotel/motel, but no.. the man rode all the way home IN THE DARK! Where there are tons of kangaroos and he knows better. He made it home safe and sound and now the waiting begins. Now its Tuesday evening. Wednesday and Thursday he starts to prepare what he needs to do to finish up there. We get off Skype on my Thursday morning ... his Thursday evening and I headed to work. I saw an email from Sydney and they had sent the paperwork out!! It was only suppose to take a day, but they mailed it late so it wasn't going to get there on Friday. We didn't think he would have it in his hands until Monday at this point, but we knew it was on the way. He booked the flight for this Wednesday. He went by the post office on Saturday morning and they had the package. He sold the caravan, sold the bike and he left Clifton Saturday evening. I can't believe how quick everything has gone. He flies out in 3 days!!!

On top of all that I have five adopted families that I had to get Christmas for. Three of the families were adopted by my office. I collected gifts and money for these three families. Each family had three children. I collected over $1K for these three families and then my sister came down and we went shopping. I tried really hard to get what was on their wish lists. One family was adopted by my family, my sister and my mother. The last two families were not adopted and I told the church I would help shop and get Christmas done for them. That was five families that I had to coordinate and shop for. Then I had to wrap all the gifts and deliver them yesterday!! I spent the entire day wrapping gifts and delivering. I don't regret a thing though.. It was really great to be able to do that for those families.

Also last week, Bailey had her first Orchestra concert. That was on Thursday evening. It was the 6th graders, then the 7th graders and finally the 8th graders. It was amazing to see how each class improved as they learned more and had more difficult music to play. It was a great concert.

I have also had an extremely week at work, have had to coordinate Christmas parties there and ... well!! I'm just exhausted and behind in all of my DT responsibilities!! In fact.. I have to get a card done tonight and I haven't even had time to start on it.

So to wrap all that up LOL I've been super busy and Kevin will be here on Wednesday and I'm getting married on Friday!!!  Woot!! :)  Now we are off to church at 9:30 am and then the Children's Christmas Musical at 10:30 am. All of the Christmas families are invited to church as well!! It will be a busy day LOL Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!

    OSAAT - Anything Goes!

Happy Sunday everyone!! Today is church day! We start the Christmas theme today with "What Child Is This". I love Christmas and I'm looking forward to spending time at church learning! And we have musicals this month - children's and adults; it should be fun!!

On to this week's One Stitch At A Time Challenge! Our theme for this week is the ever popular Anything Goes!! Here is my card:

I used Ankhi - My Heart Pieces at Stitchy Bear Stamps. This wasn't meant to be a Christmas Image, but I made it one. I colored the little birds like Cardinals. and colored her in Christmas greens and reds with her dress a nice yellow. I added the peppermint ribbon with a yellow gemmed star charm. I added the green pearls that matched her eyes. The Season's Greetings was a stamp from Inkadinkadoo. I stamped it with ColorBox Scarlet ink. The papers are Bo Bunny Mistletoe papers. I used Copic markers to color the image.

    Dress: Y02, Y06, Y08
    Eyes: YG21, YG25
    Green: G00, G17, G19
    Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, R20
    Lips: R20, R22

This has been an extremely long week... work was really busy, although at the end of the week I felt good because my desk was clear and I feel like I got a ton done. This week will be about the same! Hopefully I will be able to get done everything that needs to be done.

Saturday Michael, Bailey and I headed to the church were we packed up the rest of the clothes that were there and got them to the MUST Ministries close by. It took us three trips and a few hours, but everyone felt good about doing it. It was a good day. Michael really worked hard to help. I'm really glad we are able to help out with things like that. It was a good day. I got really tired at the end of the day though and headed to bed early. Now I'm sore.. I think I slept too much!

This week will be a busy week at work and I Bailey has her very first Orchestra Concert on Thursday. Kevin leaves out tomorrow.. or tonight LOL, his tomorrow morning and heads to the airport to fly to Sydney. He will stay in Sydney overnight and head to the Consulate on Tuesday morning for his interview!!! I can't believe we are finally there.. at the interview!! Say a little prayer for us. I'm so nervous and excited.. I know he is feeling anxious.

    Meljen's Challenge - It's A Sketch!

Good morning everyone. I'm am so thankful it is Thursday. I don't know what is going on at work or why I seem extra busy, but I can't get out of work on time and I'm non stop all day. Of course the week didn't start off so great LOL  On Monday one of my Directors needed something done. I worked ALL day on it.. and even into the evening. I worked for 13 hours on it.. only to be told that I had been working on the wrong thing. Ughhh... how frustrating is that!! So, I got up early on Tuesday, got into work and did what she needed done so that it was waiting for her when she got in. Not the best way to start off the week LOL Oh well! I have gotten a lot of things done this week. I can't seem to catch up no matter what I do though. I guess that is good though.. job security!

Okay.. enough of that.. on to our challenge this week. Our Challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is a Sketch Challenge!

I followed the sketch... somewhat LOL I did make some changes.. mostly because my image ended up on a rectangle instead of a circle. Just how it worked out. I did add the extra circle to make up for it :)

Let's see... I used mostly cardstock.. the teal and the pink. There is a white patterned paper on the teal.. the strip of it next to the teal strip with the "Season's Greetings" on it. That strip is pattered paper from Little Yellow Bicycle - Once Upon A Christmas. I used some buttons from my stash and ribbon from my stash.. those are no less than 8 years old LOL The circle is made from a folding technique here at Desire's - Doing Life. I didn't fold the edges down.. I wanted to leave it just like this instead this time with the snowflake added. The snowflake is from Snowflake Repeats - Jolee's Boutique. The Season's Greetings stamp is from Paper Smooches. And of course the wonderful image is from Meljen's Designs - Santa's Little Helper. On the hat I used flock but it wasn't enough so I added some Picket Fence - Distress Stickles on it also. I used a little bit of Mustard Seed - Distress Stickles on the bell as well. I popped several pieces of him. I colored the image with Copic and here is a list of colors:
    Copic:
    Gifts: YG0000, YG11, YG13, V12, V15, V17, RV13, RV14, RV19, Y15, Y18, Y19, BG10, BG13, BG15, B000, B12, B14
    Outfit: YG00, YG21, YG23, YG25, R20, R22, R24
Bell: Sanford - Gold Metallic Marker, outlined with .005 Prismacolor Premier Fine Line Black Marker
    Skin: R20, E000, E00, E01, E11
    Hair: E08, E09
    Tongue: R20, R22 and inside R59

    Challenges:

I hope you all have a wonderful day / evening today!! I just need to get through today and I'll be home working tomorrow!! Woohoo :)  I'm hoping I can get caught up on some cards this weekend. I need to get some images colored. That is what takes me the longest.. well.. that and my need to cut everything up and make everything dimensional LOL!!

Saturday we are packing up and taking the extra food from Thanksgiving at the church to a local MUST Ministries. Sunday will be a busy day for Bailey at church... she has choir practice at 9 am, a meeting at 10 am and then church at 10:30 am. She wants to come to the sanctuary this week because they are starting their Christmas themed sermons. This week will be "What Child Is This".

There is a blog hop today over at Paper Smooches.. gotta love me some Paper Smooches!!!! Make sure you go check it out!!!

Alright.. time for me to get moving!

Crafting When We Can - Fairytale

Happy Sunday everyone :)  Today begins a new challenge at Crafting When We Can. The theme for the next fortnight is Fairytale!!! What a fun theme! I used "Whispy" from Saturated Canary.

I also used a background image from Make It Crafty - Fern Log Digi Stamp. They have some great background stamps and I thought this one would go just perfect with the fairy!  I colored Whispy with Copic markers and the log and mushrooms were colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I used all cardstock.. wow.. I just realized that LOL  Me... using no patterned paper??  How strange!! LOL I used green pearls, white opal liquid pearls on the mushrooms, Stickles - Frosted Lace on the wings and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. the circles where made with one of my circle punches and then from using a paper folding technique on Desire's Blog - Doing Life. If you click on Tutorials, there are several paper folding tutorials there.. so fun! She is an amazing talent too! I used Tinkerbell as my Fairytale... and in the movie Peter Pan when they try to keep her alive by saying I Do Believe In Fairies... I Do! I Do! .. LOL Whenever one of us says I do.. the rest of us start saying that. We do that a lot with different sayings!!

    Copic:
    Outfit: YG21, YG23, YG25
    Skin: E00, E01, E11, R20
    Eyes: B02, B04
    Lips: R20, R22
    Hair: Y21, Y23, YR21, YR24

    Challenge:

Wow.. it's been a busy week. I feel like I have been on the run since Thursday.. Oh wait! I have LOL  That's hard for a person like me that is a complete home body. I like to be home.. just the way I am. But it was a nice Thanksgiving with my sister, my mother and my kids. Just wish Kevin would have been there. We had a good time. We played dominoes for a little while in the evening and then it was time for us to head home. We got to my sisters about 7:30 am and didn't leave until about 7:30 pm. I was exhausted!! And I was glad to get home and crawl into bed.  We went back on Friday and hung out in the afternoon for a bit. We had cake for Michael... He is 14 years old today!!!  Happy Birthday Michael :)  And my sister went in with me and we got him a Nook Tablet. He seemed really happy with his gift. And that's about it. He has requested his very own broccoli casserole LOL!! So, I told him I would make one today for him. That is my thing.. every Thanksgiving and Christmas I have to bring the broccoli casserole!

Kevin's leaves for Sydney in a week for his interview at the Consulate!!! Oh, I am so excited!! I can't believe how close we are!! We should be speaking with the attorney some time this week.. one last go around with him and make sure we have everything in order. I'm praying he will be home in a couple of weeks!!

Off to church soon. I have a meeting before church about Bailey doing some extra things with church. She is going to join the kids choir and be on the media team. I couldn't be happier that she is getting more involved in church. Now what to do with Michael ...

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

Turkeys, Pies and Cocoa - A Plethera of Cards

I LOVE Fall!!! Especially when it is like this year has been. I have enjoyed the awesome weather and the change it colors has been extraordinary this year. I love the cool air and being able to open up the doors and windows!! My favorite time of year!

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!! Kevin is still nursing a bad ankle.. its still swollen and painful. I'm hoping he can get back into the doctor today. We need to get him all fixed up. It is only about  three weeks until he heads down to Sydney to the Consulate!! Wow!! Putting that in writing just .. wow!! We are almost there!! I'm so excited!!!

What else... I took a couple of days off work last week. I worked on these cards.. and did some volunteer work for church. I took a HUGE load of clothes to a consignment store for them. The consignment store uses the money it makes to fund the home for girls that have been found in the sex trafficking industry. I had no idea that Atlanta had such a huge sex trafficking problem. And these are just girls.. young teenage girls that are getting taken and forced into this. It is so sad. Good stories come out of WellSpring though. Stories of girls reunited with families and off the street and making something of themselves.

We adopted a family for Christmas at church today. My mother and my sister are going to help. It is one little boy. He is 12 years old and we will hopefully be able to give him a nice Christmas. I also adopted three larger families for work. Each additional family has three kids each. We are a large group, so we should be able to give these kids a nice Christmas. I'm very excited.. and I'm excited that my Director's agreed to do this.

Let's see... I've been working on some cards for my DT's, but there were a few that didn't work out or I did a different card. So, here are those three LOL

This is my Grateful card.. I was going to use it for the upcoming MelJen's Challenge.. Orange and Brown. It didn't work out though.. I added a lot more different colors LOL So I did a different card for that. I used MelJen's Pumpkin Pie Slice. I also used Walnut Stain Distress Ink, Adirondack Color Wash - Butterscotch, Tattered Angel Glimmer Mists - Tattered Leather, Cranberry Zing, Gold, Bronze, Stickles Orange Peel and Yellow and Frosted Lace .. I need a new Orange Peel.. I don't know what the heck is wrong with that one... but it is frustrating and won't come out right LOL, Bo Bunny brads and gems and Scribbles 3D Paint - Christmas Green and Black, Spellbinders Rectangles. The papers are all Bo Bunny Apple Cider and Bazzill Cardstock.
    Copic:
    E41, E11, E13, E21
    YR01, YR14, YR18
    E21, E27, E29
    R39, R59, R89
    B21, B24, B28, B29
    Y32, Y35, Y38

    Challenge:

     =======================================================

For my second card I used Meljen's Cinnamon Harvest Mug. The papers are Reminisce and Imaginisce and Bazzill Cardstock. I used one of my EK edge punches, cheesecloth and the "Feels Like Fall" is a die cut sticker from Reminisce. I used a very small amount of orange peel stickles and two green pearls from Bo Bunny.
    Copic:
    Cinnamon Sticks - E13. E15, E17
    Cocoa - E71, E74
    Cup - E30, E31, E35
    Leaves - E25, E17, E43, E44, YR15, YR16, YR18
    Acorn - E77, E79, E35, E39

    Challenges:

     =======================================================

I LOVE these little turkeys!!! They are from Just Ink Lined. I colored them with my Prismacolor Pencils. I popped pieces of them. I used three brads from Bo Bunny and two gems from Bo Bunny. I stitched around the green cardstock. Lots of layers.. I love that! And the papers are all Bo Bunny papers and Bazzill Cardstock. Happy Thanksgiving.. I can't remember which stamp I used for that. The ink was Walnut Stain Distress Ink. "Eat More Ham" was handwritten with a ZIG Memory pen and under that is Pen Touch White Opaque.

Happy Sunday Everyone.. And OSAAT Challenge #138

Good morning everyone!! We have had a beautiful weekend here in Georgia! The weather has been great and I have had the windows and door open! I love fall!! It has been another busy week. I'm trying to get it back to calm LOL Hopefully that is coming.

Okay... On to the One Stitch At A Time Challenge .. We are doing Challenge #138 this week and the theme is Anything Goes!! I know you all love that one!! This week I used "Monkey Love" by Kaz Krafts! I LOVE this image!! They are just too cute!!

    Copic:
    Heart: R20, R22, R24
Monkey Face, Ears, Hands, Feet: E30, E31, E33
    Monkey Fur: E15, E29, E49

    Bamboo Darice Embossing Folder
Papers are scraps and Club Scrap papers

    Challenges:

So let's see... the kids left the T-Bone out on Thursday. He doesn't do well out of his kennel. He is rather destructive... separation anxiety or something. So, he stays in his kennel while I am at work and they are at school. Well.. that didn't happen on Thursday.. this was the third time recently that the kids have done this. He chewed at the trim around the door... he tore up more blinds.. the blinds in my room and the ones at the back door. My mother had gotten me one of those magic mesh screen door type things for my back door.. he destroyed it. I was NOT very happy to come home to that. T-Bone got scolded and then the kids got a BIG chewing out! I was able to find another one of those magic mesh screens and I put that up this weekend. I LOVE that thing!! It goes around your door.. has magnets in the middle.. so you go through it and then it closed behind you. A screen door without having a screen door. Stops all the bugs from creeping in and the dog and the cats can go out on the back balcony. It's really great!

What else... Kevin's father came down to visit him. He arrived last Sunday and I was able to hang out on Skype with them for a bit each day. He just left yesterday morning. It was really nice to be able to see him and meet him. Kevin has a really bad ankle.. he had a really bad injury years ago. Him and his dad have been out and about all week and yesterday his ankle swelled up. His ankle was worse Saturday morning and aching and keeping him from sleeping. We will see how he feels later on. Poor thing.. he is sleep deprived and in pain. He is suppose to be keeping it up and resting. I hope he feels better! I can't believe how swollen it is. I'm hoping he will go in to the doctor if it is still that swollen his Monday morning.

Saturday was a day full of crafting. I was able to get three cards done! Don't laugh LOL I'm slow!! That's a HUGE day for me! LOL So sad *shaking my head* I completed one card and after looking at it for a while, hated it, tore it apart and started over LOL I like it better the second time around. I need to take photos of it today. The kids did a bit of cleaning on Saturday and will be doing the last bit of finishing up today after church. We made chocolate chip cookies yesterday and the apartment smells great! This morning when we get home from church I think I might make some pancakes. There is a really simple recipe for pancakes that I pinned and I am wanting to try it out. I'm cooking a lasagna for lunch and I'll be working on some more cards. I'm trying to get back ahead of my responsibilities!  That is the goal :)

    I hope ya'll have a blessed day!!

Happy belated World Cardmaking Day! I hope you all had a wonderful day of making cards. I was able to get a couple of cards done. Hopefully I will be able to work on a few more today.

This week the challenge at One Stitch At A Time is Boo!

    Image: Celebrating the Autumn
    Copic:
    Skin: E000, E00, E11, E93
    Brown: E43, E44, E47, E49
    White: C1 highlights
    Gray: C1, C3, C5
    Green: G20, G24, G28
    Yellow: Y00, Y32, Y35
    Orange: YR02, YR15, YR16, YR18
    Other: 100 - Black and 0 - Colorless Blender
Flower Soft - Autumn, Twine,Papers: All scraps

Such a cute little image! I popped part of the arms, the pumpkin part of the head, the socks. I did some ink splats/drops on the white background.

    Challenges:
I hope you all have a wonderful day/evening!! I stayed up way too late last night LOL I don't feel too bad this morning though. I watched Bathurst online last night while Kevin watched on the tv. His favorite race... Now we just need to make sure we can get it over here somehow next year. Hopefully  the online feed will be there again. It was a really good feed! And live too! It was only half over when I finally crawled off to bed though LOL

I need to wake the kids up soon for church. We will go to church this morning and then home. I'm behind on my Thankful list.. I may have to make that a weekly list until I'm less busy at work. So much of my time is trying to get caught up each week.

    Alright.. enough rambling :)
