Teacher's Rule*

Good morning! And a very happy Sunday everyone! I managed to get another card finished! Let's see if I can get just one more done for tomorrow. Then I will have a card each day this month! Something I doubt I will ever accomplish again LOL I'm just too slow :p  Yesterday was a lazy day... I crafted and watched MotoGP practices and qualifying. We rode Bailey to the mall around noon. But it was a perfect day... I love to be at home. And that is exactly what we did .. stayed home and chilled! Perfect weekend!

Here is my school time card today:

Here is my School themed card I've been working on.  I went with an Easel card. The images are Drawn With Character - School Items For Teacher. The images were colored with Copic Markers. I added a little bit of Copic Opaque White. The paper in the background I used some glitter to do the lines. The line on the side was done in red glitter.. you can't really see that one that well. Then the other lines were done in a blue. I cut the Teacher's Rule out with the Cameo.. as well as the card itself. "Teacher's" was cut using gray paper and I outlined the letters in black and added a bit of opaque white. The Rule was cut using scrap patterned papers. All of the papers used were scrap papers. I can't believe the paper I have that is scrap. The only other thing that I added are the small buttons. The pencil paper piecing is used to help the easel stay open. I inked the background lined paper and the rule and the pencil with sepia ink to give it some depth. I also used some yellow, brown and pink chalk to add more detailing to the pencil. I embossed a couple of lines on the metal part of the pencil and added a bit of opaque white for highlights. I also added the No. 2. That was it.. I didn't really add too much to it. I wanted most of the emphasis on the images.. I just love these images!

MelJen's Designs Glitters In Gold

Good morning everyone! Boy .. this has been a busy week!!  Monday I had doctor appointments... Tuesday was Lacrosse practice with Bailey... Wednesday was get Kevin to the DMV so he could officially get his Car Drivers License... he had the motorcycle, just hadn't taken the test for the car. The lady told him that he would be the best she had that day and that he should stay and teach everyone else LOL!!  Then it was take care of the tags for the bikes which ended up a nightmare because my daughter some how transferred everything to a different county... Then it was Support Group night. It was a busy Wednesday!!  Today is Lacrosse practice again!!  LOL What a week! I hope everyone is having a great one!! We are closer to the weekend!! Woot! Woot!!

Today we are on Challenge #251 at Meljen's Designs and our theme for this challenge is All That Glitters Is Gold (use gold). Here is what I have come up with:

I had so much fun with this challenge. I thought it was going to be hard to add gold, but I had a lot more gold than I realized. And with gold, I thought this would be the perfect time to throw in a Christmas card! For this one I used two images, Jingle All The Way and Jingle Bell. I colored these images with my Copic Markers, but with Jingle Bell I did a bit of piecing with gold paper. So, the top layer of the bell is printed on gold paper. The Jingle Bell image is also layered a bit. I added some details with a white pen as well. I added gold star paper on the bottom and gold ribbon to add a bit more gold. Then, I did some dots around Jingle All The Way with my Gold Liquid Pearls. I'm thinking I did okay adding the gold :) And this is my very first Christmas card for 2015!!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Holly: G20, G21, G24, G28
  • Berries: R24, R35, R59
  • Ribbon and Bow: R22, R24, R29
  • Bells and Stars: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23, YR24

Winners for Challenge #19 and Midway for Challenge #20 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Today!!!.

Good morning!! Today is a busy Taxi Mom day!!!  After Michael does the mowing he is going to school to help build the set for drama. Bailey spent the night with a friend, but I have to pick her up and get her to her Lacrosse game in Decatur.. that will take us about an hour to get to. Her game starts at 2 pm, she has to be there at 1 pm and that means I have to leave here about 11:30 to go get her and then on the road to her game. It is CHILLY out this morning too!! Loving it!!! Then... Bailey wants to go back to her friends because she is having a house warming party or something like that. So, yes.. busy day today!! I'm hoping to get home so I can relax and work on some cards! My goal is to finish up my October DT cards this weekend!

Today we have our winners and DT Favorites posted for Challenge #19 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. Be sure to go over and see if you are a winner!!  At noon we will be featuring the midway post for Challenge #20: Fall / Autumn. Our sponsors for Challenge #20 are:
