Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #7 - Patriotic / Use Your Country Colors .. Ausmerican

Good morning and Happy 10th of the month! Today is our new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun!! Today we are on Challenge #7, which has a theme of Patriotic and/or Use Your Countries Colors. Our wonderful Sponsors for Challenge #7 are:

Our sponsors are so wonderful!! Please be sure to visit them and show the love! We really appreciate you so much!! Thank you for sponsoring with Open-Minded Crafting Fun!

I have created a couple of items for this challenge. Here is my second creation ... choosing to go Ausmerican with this one.. a mix of Aussie and American :)  For my hubby and I:

I went with the Australian Sporting colors of Yellow and Green and the American Red, White and Blue. I have used Sea Serpent and Mermaid from Keyesays Visual Art. I colored the image with Copic Markers. The card and all the die cuts inside where all cut using the Silhouette Cameo. The card is an Accordian Fold Card. The background behind the image.. the water.. was done using watercolors. I have used chalk on the Sand Dollar, the shell, the seaweed and the bubbles to add a bit of detailing to it. I've also added Diamond Glaze to the bubbles so they really appear to be water drops. I've added some gems around the image on the inside. The papers are from a stack. I love how this turned out. Thanks for looking!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Blue: B21, B24, B29
  • Red: R22, R24, R46
  • Yellow: Y00, Y11, Y15, Y19, YR23

I have created a couple of items for this challenge. Here is my first creation ... choosing to go all out Patriotic with this one:

I created this Cascade Card using Lunastria The Faerie from Keyesays Visual Art. I love this fairy and I went and made her all patriotic :) I have used Copic Markers to color her and I've also used some Opaque White on her. She is layered a little bit as well. All of the cuts for the Cascade Card were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I've used a lot of cardstock and a bit of scrap pieces of patterned paper. The "july" and "firecracker" are the patterned paper. On both of these words I also covered them with Diamond Glaze to give them a nice puffy shine. I love Diamond Glaze! I've also used glitter on the 4th and on the fireworks at the top.

Copic Markers Used:

Yam Puff Lacrosse

Good morning everyone!! And a very happy Monday!!  Is that possible?  Happy Monday?? haha!! Monday really comes all too quickly!!  And now it is time to go back to the working grind for the week... Yuck! But that is what it is!! I hope you all had a nice weekend though.

A while back I was looking around and then asking around for who could create a digital image for Lacrosse. I have a Lacrosse player... my youngest daughter Bailey is a Goalie. I wanted a girl lacrosse player and a girl lacrosse goalie. I searched and searched and just couldn't find a digital image anywhere. Then I went to Kit and Clowder and started asking who would do images. And then Alyce mentioned Yam Puff!! Duh!! I knew that! So I reached out to her and asked her about a commission. I paid for the two images and I've been waiting while she gets her orders completed. Then one day .. she sends me the images she has been working on. I'm floored!! They are perfect. And now I have them completed!!  They are so wonderful!!  If you ever want a commissioned piece of work.. definitely go for Yam Puff!! She was so easy to work with and she gave me just what I wanted. Not to mention her art is ADORABLE!!  I knew I would make use of these.. for the girls, the coaches, etc for at least the next four years! And then there is college .. so I am super excited!! And I went to work on using them for the first time. I made an altered canvas which I framed in an altered frame. And then I also made a matching card, which I'll post in a couple of days. First comes the canvas:

I created this for the coach. I figured she could hang it in her room or something. The two images are from the most wonderful YamPuff!! And they were both commissioned. Thank you Thank you!! for these awesome images!! If you haven't guessed, her High School team is  the Allatoona Bucs or Buccaneers. The frame started out this awful wood. It was a dark brown wood and it wasn't very attractive. I purchased it from Goodwill. I painted it black and then I splattered white and red on it. Their colors are of course red, black and white HAHA!!  Just in case you didn't get that! ;)  I altered a bottle cap and added Coach Carmichael to that and put that on the corner. I wanted to personalize it for her. I took the canvas and painted it a lighter gray and then splattered it with black, white and red. I cut that A in the middle out with the Silhouette and then I colored it in. I also cut the "Allatoona Bucs Lacrosse" out with the Silhouette. The two girls are colored with my Copic markers. I fussy cut them with a little white border around them. I really love that look. And that's it! I had a lot of fun creating it and she really seemed to like it. I gave it to her at the dinner we had to celebrate the team. See you in a couple of days to share the card that went with it. I'm not going to post that tomorrow as I'll be posting the Open-Minded Crafting May Challenge that day ;)

Easter Bunny Drawn With Character

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I'm sharing just another Easter card with you:

This was another unique fold. Another cut from the Silhouette Cameo. I thought it was a pretty fun cut. I always take and make some changes or additions usually, to these cuts. For this one I've added an extra cut to the inside to add a bit. I've done a lot of stitching around the different folds ont his one. I've used some chalk on the pink eggs and the purple to add some detailing to the edges. I've added some diamond glaze on the purple over the egg and the drips of purple on the card. I've added some gens and dew drops as well. You can see the chalk on the larger pink egg on the inside better. The image is from Drawn With Character and I've popped the image a bit. Love that little guy :) He was colored with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Bunny Fur: C00, C1, C3

Valentine's Cards Coming!

Good morning everyone!! I hope everyone is well!! And I hope you are staying warm! :)  Let's see.. what have I been up to? Well... I made it a goal this year to work on my Etsy shop... to REALLY work on my Etsy shop. That is exactly what I have been doing. I have been trying to network and really get myself out there. I spend a bit of time on it each day and we will see how it goes! I've sold my first item.. yay!! :)  And I'm hoping that if I stick with it I will have a successful store.

We have started up the Open-Minded Challenges again, so that is another thing I've been working on. I've gotten all of the posts ready for the year for the most part. We just have to fill in a bit here and there. The team is amazing! It has been a joy to see everyone joining back in and the new members that have found us!

Next, I've been working on crafting! I have a handful of cards finished, but I took my time getting photos done. Last night I managed to do that and I'm going to post my first Valentine's make today. I've made a nice set of five mini cards. I've made three sets of those. I'll post them one at a time :)

It has been a roller coaster of weather here in Georgia. We got some sleet yesterday afternoon; no snow here. My oldest daughter is more north and she did get some snow up in the mountains. We are supposed to get another round of it on Friday afternoon I guess. I would LOVE to have some snow! I love snow and I love the cold! Although... if you live in Georgia the whole city comes to a standstill with just a 1/4 of a 1/4 of an inch of snow LOL  Really, the problem is that everything freezes here and you not only have snow, but you end up with a thick layer of ice on everything and ice is just treacherous. We don't have the equipment to handle it and people definitely don't know how to drive on anything cold down here... not snow, now even rain and certainly not ice LOL

Here is my first Valentine's card!!

This is my first little 3 x 3 Valentine Card! I've used "I Chews You!" from Drawn With Character. I've colored this awesome image with my Copic Markers. I've done a small amount of layering on it. I covered the gumballs with some clear Wink of Stella to give them a bit of a shine. On top of those I've covered the glass part with Diamond Glaze. That piece is also layered up a level and curved to give it a dimensional look to it. I've done a bit of dry embossing on the red card stock inside and out. I've  also distressed the edges of the pattered paper. I "Chews" You! was printed and I used a die cut to cut it out. I inked the edges of the white with red ink. I've added a couple of gems as well. This is the first card in my set of five. There are five different cards in the set and I've made three sets. I hope you like!!

Not to mention I have been working like crazy to try to get as much done as I can. I got a lot done this week and today too. I wanted to color today, but the majority of my day was spent working. Oh well! There is always tomorrow!

I missed this post yesterday... I wasn't sure when the post was going live. I made this card for the Facebook Challenge at Art By Miran. I was their Guest Designer for this month:

I decided to create a Joy Fold Card. I love these folds! I have used Reindeer Friendship from Art By Miran. I colored the image with my Copic Markers and I've done a small amount of layering. I've done a bit of stitching. I've inked all of the white papers with several different colors of ink, blue, green, red. I've also added some snowflake stickers. All of the papers are from my scraps.I used a Merry Christmas stamp on the outside and then I stamped tis the season on the inside.
