Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #7 - Patriotic / Use Your Countries Colors

Good morning and Happy 10th of the month! Today is our new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun!! Today we are on Challenge #7, which has a theme of Patriotic and/or Use Your Countries Colors. Our wonderful Sponsors for Challenge #7 are:

Our sponsors are so wonderful!! Please be sure to visit them and show the love! We really appreciate you so much!! Thank you for sponsoring with Open-Minded Crafting Fun!

I have created a couple of items for this challenge. Here is my first creation ... choosing to go all out Patriotic with this one:

I created this Cascade Card using Lunastria The Faerie from Keyesays Visual Art. I love this fairy and I went and made her all patriotic :) I have used Copic Markers to color her and I've also used some Opaque White on her. She is layered a little bit as well. All of the cuts for the Cascade Card were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I've used a lot of cardstock and a bit of scrap pieces of patterned paper. The "july" and "firecracker" are the patterned paper. On both of these words I also covered them with Diamond Glaze to give them a nice puffy shine. I love Diamond Glaze! I've also used glitter on the 4th and on the fireworks at the top.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Dress: B21, B24, B29
    • Wings and Red on Dress: R22, R24, R46
    • Hair: B24, C5, C7, C9

Chinese New Year Child's Card

Good morning everyone! It is Sunday... I can't believe how quickly the weekend goes by! It is here and then it is gone! And tomorrow it is back to work already. I don't even feel like I got a break! Tonight, Bailey comes home from camp and I'm pretty sure Michael works this afternoon, but I'm not sure what time. I received my first request on Etsy for a Valentine's card this morning. So, today I will be working hard to get that finished. I'll make that one and ship it out with the other one she bought. So excited! All the work I'm putting into Etsy is definitely paying off :)  Yay!

Here is my 2nd custom ordered Chinese New Year Card. This one is for the baby daughter :)

I used all scrap paper. I cut the black wth the Silhouette Cameo. I added some twine and some dew drops. The little monkey was a free coloring image found online that I printed and colored with Copic Markers. I did pop his little head up and put it on a wobble. I thought... what is better for a small child than a wobble! :D  I stamped the Happy New Year and attached it with a black brad. And that is it! I was able to use all scraps for both of the cards for her which is a real bonus! I love being able to use my scraps up and I'm trying really hard to do that!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Cheeks: R20, R22
  • Vines: YG11, YG13, YG17
  • Mouth: R56, R59
  • Dark Brown: E23, E25, E27, E29
  • Light Brown: E51, E53, E55

3 Girl JAM Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the "Thankful for 3 Girl JAM Fans Blog Hop!"  The 3 Girl JAM design team has joined up with a few of our friends and fans to put together an awesome hop full of inspiration and fun!

3 Girl JAM has put together an awesome prize package of crafty goodness!  To win it, all you have to do is leave a comment on each stop of the hop.  Easy peezy!

Here is my project for our Hop. Thankful... I am thankful for my friends. This is something I made for a friend at work who is expecting next month. :) I gave her the card and the stroller full of Kit Kats, along with a little outfit for her little precious package coming.

I created this little carriage using my Silhouette Cameo. I've used cardstock and patterned paper. The patterned paper is from a Mambi Stack. I've inked a lot of the papers with black ink. I've added some ribbon and some small and large blue pearls. I've used some twine to hang a carriage charm. I've used two brads on the carriage umbrella piece. And then of course I've filled it with yummy Kit Kats which I can't eat any longer LOL  Oh well! :D

For this bottle shaped card I have used a Tiddly Inks image, Lullaby. I've colored the image with my Copic Markers and I've done just a small amount of layering. I popped the mother up one level. I've used the same papers I used for the carriage project. I've also inked the papers with black ink. I've added some blue sequins, gems and pearls towards the top of the bottle. And I've also added some ribbon towards the bottom of the card. You can find Challenges that I have entered both projects in at the bottom of the post :)

Alice - Have I Gone Mad?.

Good morning everyone!!  This weekend has been a great weekend full of racing and crafting. I went this morning to the gym and worked out with hubby. We watched the qualifying for the V8's... We still have the final race to watch for that. We did watch the MotoGP race and I use to like Valentino Rossi, but he has really put a bad taste in my mouth! He intentionally crashed Marquez. So wrong! I'm still upset, a bit shocked about it! He really went downhill in my book.. my gosh!!  Just.. wow!!  Anyway!!

Went to Bailey's last Fall Lacrosse game. She played goalie for the 1st half. They only scored once! She was so on it today!! Blocking everything they threw at her!! It was so good to see her confidence come back!! That was my girl back out there!! Awesome!!

Tomorrow... I have a couple of doctor appointments in the morning. I meet with the Physiotherapist and then the Dietitian for my follow up.  I'm hoping to just finish the day from home tomorrow. That will make the day more productive. That is the plan! I think it is supposed to rain tomorrow.. so it will be a nice day to open the window, listen to the rain and work! :)  Okay.. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!!!

I managed to get another coloring and card finished. Here it is!!

For this stepper I've used Alice from Rick St. Dennis. I had so much fun coloring this image.. the background has so many details. It was loads of fun. I colored this with my Copic Markers and Wink of Stella Markers.I cut the clock and clock hands die cuts from a Sizzix die. The sentiment was printed and cut using a Spellbinders die.The card itself was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. I added some small .. I can't even remember where I picked them up or what they are called.. not really gems, not really pearls... sort of like dew drops, but smaller and.. I need to figure out where I got them, because I love them!! LOL  Anyway!!  I also added a brad to the clock hands. I inked all of the papers And that is it :)

Autumn Witch*

Good morning everyone.. and a very happy and blessed Sunday. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already! The weekends just go by way too fast. I hope you all have had a great weekend! Yesterday was perfect... lazy Saturday! We watched the free practice and qualifying for the MotoGP bike races. We also got to watch the qualifying for the Australian V8s! A fun day of racing and crafting! I worked on this card yesterday and finished it up this morning. Today should be another day of the same ... crafting and watching the MotoGP and Australian V8 races! :D  And Bailey will be returning from Church Camp this evening.  Have a great one!!

Here is my Autumn card:

For this card I used Pumpkin Witch from Stampz by Star. I love this image! I colored the image with my Copic Markers and I did a bit of layering. I added some white polka dots to the ribbon around her hat. The background was done with pastels. This was my first time using pastels. I think it turned out okay. It was fun using a different median! I did a lot of distressing on the papers. All of the papers are scraps from a couple of years ago except for the Kraft papers. Some of the kraft is from a new sheet and some of it is from scraps. I absolutely loved these autumn papers. I still have enough scraps for a few more cards I think... between all of the papers LOL I'll be sad when they are gone! So, I inked all the edges with black and then distressed all of the patterned papers edges. I added some sequins and a few gems and the two leaf charms at the top. Those I used several colors of Alcohol inks on. I used a bit of ribbon and raffia.  The torn corner and the charms are being held down with brads. Behind the torn paper I added a bit of green tulle. Those leaves are die cuts from My Favorite Things. I cut them out of patterned paper and added black ink to the edges. The "thanks" is a stamp from Paper Smooches. On the inside i used some sequin and raffia.
