Hide and Go.....

Sheep!  That's right!
Isn't this a cool sign?  I got it for 49 cents!  I am starting to scout out stuff to decorate a little studio room in my house.  We have a spare bedroom that we've been using for an office.  It's sunny and has some built-in bookshelves and a desk.  Some of my husband's stuff is in there...you know, man stuff...but I have convinced him that I need the space.  Maybe I'll be able to actually see the dining room table when I get it all set up.  ;-)

I haven't bound any of the three rugs that need binding...surprise, surprise...but I did start my new rug.  It took me forever to transfer it.  I'm using linen for the first time and you would have thought I was drawing on the dead sea scrolls, I was being so careful!  I recently picked up a damaged antique wool paisley shawl on Ebay.  It has a ton of usable wool in it and I decided to put some in the rug.  The pattern of this rug is very simple, so I thought the paisley would stand out.  Here it is so far.
The flower on the right has some blue in it.  All those dots were blue, but I started switching them out to the pink...I can't decide whether to keep the two blue dots with it.  I'll just hook some more around it and see what happens.  The maple color on the handle will go on the basket as well.  I'm eager to see that combo.  The colors are subtle, but I like it so far.  I really like the linen.  It's so much easier to work with than burlap.

I've been hooking for several hours and my body needs to stop!  While I've been hooking, I've been listening to our classical music station here in the Boston area.  They offer a show called From the Top, which features extraordinary musical talent of young kids.  These kids are amazing and I always enjoy hearing them play.  It makes me feel hopeful and happy about the future of the world.  I think the program is syndicated through NPR.  Check it out!

Have a wonderful night!
