I love Fridays. My husband and I call Friday night "The Golden Time". The day was full, too full, so climbing in the car and heading home was just the best. I decided to stop off at a gift place on my way home. It's new, and I've never been in there before. It was ok. I picked up a couple of things I'd add to a gift basket in the future. Then, I thought I swing into the antique store two buildings down from there. It's a big place, but doesn't change that often...but luckily we do change and that's when you find great stuff!! This is what I scored:
It's about 1/2 yard of slightly damaged paisley. Now, lest you think I'm made of money...this sweet deal was only $20. The other paisley I used in my rug was only $35 and it's twice this size. I almost swooned and snatched it up like I was at a bridal sale at Macy's! There wasn't another soul in the shop, but I spent the rest of my time there clutching it to my chest, while I half-heartedly looked around. I left with only the shawl...what more did I really need?
Arriving home, I had another package.
and...
Another great dye book. The box holds the little swatches from the recipes. You know how I love dyeing!! So, my weekend is set. Stroke the paisley, dye wool, and try to bind the next rug! Hey, I actually finished binding the little flower/heart rug and now I'm onto the Valentine's pillow. (Remember that one from back in February?) BTW, do any of you have a favorite light background recipe you'd like to share using Cushings dyes?
The weather is Springy and I'm happy to have two days off!! Enjoy the weekend everyone!!
