Find Your Loveliness

Hi! I hope you're not getting tired of seeing the 3D embossed backgrounds! I'm just crazy over Tim's Texture Fades, and there are not enough hours in the day to create with them!

The coneflower is one of the last from this spring's bloom. It's been raining every day since we've been back from vacation, so I haven't gotten a chance to cut them back for the second flush of flowers. Usually our garden is full of butterflies, attracted by the purple flowers, but I've only seen three this year!

I added a little Prima Artisan Powder to the edges of this one for a rusty look and backed with a cat food box chipboard panel embossed in gold. I layered it over a panel colored with Distress Oxides--Squeezed Lemonade, Iced Spruce, and Frayed Burlap. While it was still damp, I dusted with more of the powder.

I recently purchased the Butterfly Framelits, but don't own the stamps yet. I was itching to give them a try, so I inked some card with Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Broken China oxides. I used Distress Transparent Matte paste and some of Tim's Mini Layering stencils to provide some pattern. When dry, I blended with Walnut Stain oxide and then used the dies to cut the shapes. They were randomly edged in gold embossing powder and the bodies were cut from a scrap of Metallic Kraft Stock covered with gold microbeads.

I layered the stenciled butterflies over another cut from another piece of the inked card I used for the base. Some gold thread and a Clippings Sticker finish off this simple card.

You can see in the photo above I just barely touched my embossing ink to the flower heads on the textured panel and gold embossed. The powder blew around and seemed to land everywhere but on the flower heads, but I'm ok with that.

Challenge shares:
Scrapy Land Challenge #95 Anything Goes I used a Sizzix die set.
Simon Says Stamp Monday Wild Things I chose wild colors and wild butterflies.
SumMore Fun Mood Board Challenge #33  I'm inspired by the vibrant butterflies.

Hugs and Blessings!
