Boxed anniversary card

Well it was back to school today. All the staff and children seem to be over the dreaded virus. But it was so cold, with fine hail falling too. Hope you have all had a good day back too.

Here is a card i made for some friends for their anniversary at the end of December. They don't like fussy so I hope this card is simple enough for them ( I couldn't help my self, I just HAD to add some flowers!)

The stamp is from Whiff of Joy and I coloured it with Prismas ( kindly given to me by Maggie one of the lovely ladies who comes to my card lessons. She tried them but didn't like them so offered them to me. She wouldn't have any money for them so I must sort out something for her. Maggie I hope you aren't reading this bit!)
I used my Go Kreate dies to make the card blank and mats. I made the box using my Martha Stewart score board. The sentiments are computer generated.
I hope you like it ....and I hope they do too!

Feeling under the weather/ I won some blog candy

Hi everyone
I had a rough weekend with this virus that going around. I never ate anything yesterday. A first for me!
The kids at school on Friday were dropping like flies , as were the teachers, so I am not surprised I was ill too. My head is still pounding and I have such bad backache and I can't get warm.
Anyway enough of the depressing stuff.

Saturday afternoon's lesson we made these calender cards. They are so quick and easy to make and the calenders themselves are very cheap to buy.( i didn't start to feel ill until the end of X Factor. Were you happy with the results? I didn't mind which of the 3 won. Although I did have a leaning towards One Direction. A young girl who used to come to cards lessons was in the same class as Liam!)

Also some good news, for me anyway,. I won Maddy's blog candy. Now that certainly made me feel better. Maddy is a super crafter. Her projects are all amazing. Thank you Maddy.
Keep away from all those germs!!!!

Whiff of joy challenge card - sketch

Had a busy afternoon sorting out the finer details for a friend whose wedding invites I am making. I am also making Favour boxes, cake boxes and place settings.
If any one knows where I can get 100 sheets of 12 x 12 textured mid green cardstock, can you please let me know.
I have made this easel card for the Whiff of joy challenge, which is to follow a sketch by the talented Jane
I have used my new circle Nesties which I have distressed slightly. The image I have coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from my stash. I have made the flower using my new Marianne dies ( which I love. I have had all my ladies using them in card lessons). The centre piece of the flower was from The Hobby House. The leaves were made using the new Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die which I then embossed. Finally I added some Organza ribbon.
Well the sun is out here. I must go and make the most of it

Whiff of Joy stamped card I forgot to post!

I have just visited fellow totally Gorjuss DT member Paola's blog. (Her cards really are fantastic) I realised that the style of card was similar to one I made for a friend who has had an operation last month andI forgot to post it on my blog when I made it. So here it is.
The image is from Whiff of joy and I coloured it with Promarkers and Copics. The beige lace was from Hobbycrafts and the lovely flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. It is such an easy but quite pretty card to make. i hope you like it.

As I have an extra day off school today, teaching assistants and pupils go back tomorrow, I thought I would tidy out my craft cupboard!!!!............................................I wish I had gone to school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update on my Dad and Sketch Saturday challenge

We visited mum and dad on Sunday. Dad is still not well at all. Although he looks a lot better his breathing is the worst I have ever known. After that week in hospital and being told he has had Ecoli for 15 years(!) (It wasn't picked up until this recent stay in hospital), he has had a bad chest infection. Mum has also the same and she says it is the worst she has ever had. She too is on antiibiotics. Lets hope they both start to pick up soon.

What an interesting sketch at Sketch Saturday challenge. I have used one of my new Whiff of Joy stamps from the Get Well collection. I have actually made this card for someone I know who has just had a hip reoplaced. I know that the bandage on the image is NOT on the hip but It's close. Good thing I am not a Doctor isn't it?!
I also used the lovely K and Co Baby papers. The lace I bought from Hobbycrafts. It didn't stick successfully with tape so I used PVA glue. I think it is quite a nice cheery card. Hope my friend will like it too.

Love is in the air....................

We have a Lurve challenge over at Totally Gorjuss this week. Check out the fab cards by the DT.
For my card I have used My new Whiff of Joy stamp from Hotshotcrafts which I have coloured with Promarkers also from the same shop. The papers are Basic Grey and I have used the Heart Martha Stewart border punch which I love so much. The hearts were cut with Sizzix and then embossed.
I am posting two cards. The first is the one I submitted  for the Totally Gorjuss DT and the second is the one I made in card class I held on Friday for my friend. It was her first easel card and she was so thrilled with it. She did a super job.
I hope you like them and don't forget my blog candy above this post

 I am also entering

Whiff of Joy GDT call

There is a great sketch at Katharina's blog, and with it is the possibility of being a Guest Designer for 2 months!!!. What a fab chance is that. So I thought I would give it a go. I have entered load of challenges and never won one. So lets see how I do with this one. Actually I love making cards anyway for no particular reason. It stops me causing trouble somewhere else. Oh and from doing the ironing, cooking, cleaning, gardening........................................... You know what I mean.

Anyway here is the sketch and I have used the Whiff of Joy winter love two birds stamp.
I have coloured it with Promarkers and the papers are Brenda Pinnick. I have also used distress inks around the edge of the card and my paper edge distresser on the papers too.
Thanks for all the comments that i have received. I love reading them

Whiff of Joy # 58 - sparkle, sparkle, sparkle

It ages since I entered a Whiff of Joy challenge so here goes. The theme is sparkle, sparkle, sparkle. The image I have used is Lizzie with Muff which is coloured with Promarkers and layered on a couple of Nestie ovals. The papers are from my stash and the sparkle is Stickles which I have put onto the background paper and on the scallops of the Nestie shape and also on Lizzies muff, boots and cuffs. The sparkle doesn't show up very well on the photo but if you double click on the photo it will enlarge and you can see the sparkle much better. I'm really pleased with how this card has turned out.
Enjoy the rest of your day

By the cute and girly - lets go to the movies

The challenge over at By the cute and girly is a great idea. It is inspired by the movies and the cards by the DT are great.
My card is based on Aflred Hitchcocks "The Birds." The stamp is from Whiff of Joy coloured with Promarkers . If you click on the photo you should be able to see the Stickles I have put on the leaves and branch. The papers are from my stash and the sentiment also from my paper stash. I have made it in an easel card as that seems to be the fashion at the moment.
Hopefully I will put up another post a bit later today

A great NEC

HI everyone, especially all of you who came to the Hotshotcrafts stand and said hello ( and bought Promarkers too, I reckon there will be a colouring frenzy going on now!!!!)
The show was a great success. It was packed with people. Unfortunately for me I didn't really get the chance to shop ( boo hoo ) because we were so busy. I desperately need double sided sticky tape and usually buy 24 rolls to keep me going in card lessons until the next show and never managed to get any. Does any one know of any one selling them at the show prices (12 rolls for £5? I think).
I did manage to get 2 Magnolia stamps ( gorgeous), and 2 Sizzix dies. (Keep checking the blog was new ideas)
The Greetings Farm and Whiff of Joy stamps went well and Hotshot crafts have new stocks in in 2 weeks as we sold out of many of them.
I met so many lovely people, a couple have already left lovely comments on my blog. I will visit all of you too.
Hello to the teachers from Birmingham who went to my old school Swanshurst Girls.
Hi to Dawn from Allpinkgirl. You must visit her blog. I'm envious because she is on the design team for Whiff of Joy. You must see her cards.
And a big thanks to mum and dad who visited sundy and brought us sandwiches, cakes and drinks!
I was also asked for my autograph!!!!. Perhaps I'll be famous one day, watch out Dawn Bibby !!!!!
Anyway I'm leaving you with pictures of me demonstrating at NEC taken by some of my friends who come to my card lessons. Goodness, what faces I pull!!!!
See you soon

Get ready for a stack of cards!!!!!

Hi everyone on this wet and miserable day
To make matters worse I have just realized that my boiler isn't working so NO HEAT!!!!!
I now know what Scrappymax has gone through.

Well as my last post said Hotshotcrafts have now got the Anya and Whiff of Joy stamps and I have been busy making samples for the shows at Glasgow next week and the Nec next month. Unfortunately I wont be at the Glasgow show as I will be on a family holiday in Portugal, hopefully in some warmer weather. We are going with Mike's Mum and and dad, his sister, his brother and wife, and 2 little ones aged 2 and 9 months and of course the 4 of us. Let you know how we get on when we get back.

Anyway as there are soooooooo many samples I think I will post them in batches as I wouldn't want to give anyone craft overload( Ha Ha - as if that would bother any of us!!)
Please leave a comment as I love to hear from you and if your not already a follower please feel free to join. I am trying to join all those I regularly look at too.
