I now have a website

I finally have a website!  https://www.sandraeterovic.com/ was made using a Squarespace template, manipulated to my wishes by the marvellous Nic McGuffog.  It showcases highlights of my illustration, art and craft work over the last eight years.  I feel proud when I look at it, which is helpful.

I do still love my blog, although I feel that there are far fewer people looking at it now.  Most of the noise is over at Instagram.  Instagram is great for instant gratification, but blogs are way better for telling a story.  (Websites too, come to think of it....!)

I will still post here from time to time.

Random goings on lately

Above: Gardening Australia magazine, March.  Some blooms seem to spring out suddenly, like a Jack-in-the-box!
Above: This ideas woman is in my Etsy shop, I decided to rephotograph her in a more minimalist(!) setting.
Above: a detail from a painting which I will tell you more about soon.
Above: my studio in Tatanja Ross's wonderful book Thank you for Having Me!  More details here.

Above: the Lonely Hipster cushion looking quite eerily like a real bloke on my bed the other day....
(He is the last one in that particular style, by the way.)

Mirrors in the shop

Hello!  These hand painted mirrors are now in the shop.

Around the place this week

Above: I have decided to use my market peg board as a temporary hallway gallery and apron hanger (until I bang the kitchen door into it and smash one of my mirrors).
Above: In the bathroom with Tom Polo last Saturday.  Spring 1883 at The Windsor was such a treat!
Above: The kitchen climber is now long enough to tickle the pencil holding man, but he doesn't look very happy about it.
Above: Mirror painting day last Wednesday.  These will be in my Etsy shop next week (please note that some are already on hold).
Above: I think that cake mixes are a crock but painting this one was quite fun.
Above: Please note that my window exhibition at Craft Victoria will finish at the end of Tuesday August 26, a week earlier than was originally advertised.  Most unsold items will still be available through the Shop.

Have a fine Sunday!

New mirrors in the shop

Hello!  There are some new mirrors in the shop.  I painted these last week and particularly enjoyed doing the BIG MOUTH!  Enjoy your weekend.

Random shots.

Above: lounge room with Lonely Hipster.
Above: dear Shin looking through her mirror.
Above: studio wall.

Above: the lid from my favourite tin, which I bought in Newcastle sometime in the last millennium.  It has the important task of holding all of my tubes of acrylic paint, and is getting rather full.
Above: my dear quilt, which I must have made some time ago now, needs mending.  I am happy to replace the red ditsy floral, but can't bear to hide the 70s map fabric which I found at an op shop in Cheltenham so many years ago.  If anyone out there has some of this fabric in their stash, I'd be happy to pay for it!

New Mirrors

New painted mirrors.  Due to the power of Instagram (and one particularly lovely customer), five of them have already sold.  But the Fez, Head Scarf and Lion are in my Etsy shop, along with a few others that I had previously made.

New mirrors in my shop + Hut 13!

I have some new mirrors in my Etsy shop.  If you're in Melbourne, Lucy Mora also has a HUGE new selection of my mirrors at the beautiful new Hut 13 in Richmond (Swan St, right on the corner of Lennox).  A treasure trove of beautiful, colourful and cleverly designed things.  Richmond needs you, Lucy!!

Post Finders Keepers: new mirrors and dolls

I had a fantastic time at Finders Keepers over the weekend.  Thanks so much to everyone who said hi, had a look, took a little card, smiled at me, said nice things about my work or even BOUGHT something!  You know who you are, and your support is hugely appreciated.  I was especially chuffed by the response to my Yeah No vest, which has spurred me on to do some more knitting.  I am pretty busy right now though so it might not be until after Christmas....and then it will be too hot to wear a knitted vest...but who knows?!

The mirrors did amazingly well but as I made quite a few for the market, there are some left over ones which have gone into the shop.

There are new dolls in the shop too -- the Tattoo Sailor in Love is proudly making his Etsy debut today.

New mirrors for Finders Keepers

I have been enjoying painting some new mirrors for The Finders Keepers Market, which is only a few weeks away now!
