Let's Dance!

Hi There,

This afternoon I saw the new challenge at CASology-Fun, and an idea popped into my head. I had been thinking of the 'Exotic' challenge at Less is More and the Silhouette challenge at Addicted to CAS for a few days as I wanted to enter both. It wasn't until I saw the 'Fun' challenge that the idea for this idea card came to me. Weird how this happens but great when it does!

This is what I came up with:

The background is made out of brushos and just looks like the most exotic sunset. What could be more fun than dancing the Tango at sunset. The idea came to me quickly but it took me ages to decide what colour panels to put the card onto. I tried lots of ideas and finally came across this cream coloured card that I rarely use as it looks a bit to yellow to me but it seem to go perfectly with the brusho background.

The sentiment is from PTI and the silhouette is from STAMPlorations.

My sister is a superb dancer and this card is going to her.

Have a good day my friends x

I will enter this into:

STAMPloration CAS-gold-could my sunset be golden-if not I go with no twist.

CAS(E) this Sketch

I hope you are all having a fun Sunday,

Last week I was not in a crafty mood and didn't make any cards for a week. I had a little 'virtual' chat with blogging friend Joyce and she suggested a few little tips to get my mojo working. I took said advice and have been on a roll since. I have been making mainly future DT cards but today made this card inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do and it worked first time!

I used my splatter die again. I used it as a stencil first with distress ink and then cut the splatter out with glitter card. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations

Here is the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

I will also enter this into the CAS challenge at STAMPlorations going with the twist of silver.

Enjoy the rest of your day x

Inkspirational #86

Hi All

It is my turn at Inkspirational to choose the challenge and I have gone with:

Grunge

With my card today I wanted to show you that grunge doesn't always have to be masculine. I have made a pretty pink card with a touch of grunge-all the stamps are form STAMPlorations

Our DT have all come up with some fabulous grunge cards for you. Take a look here and then get inky!

Inkspirational #85

A very Happy Weekend to you all,

We have our 'word prompt' challenge at Inkspirational and this time our word is:

WILD

Here is my take on this word:

I went with the idea of going a little 'wild' when creating. When starting out along the creative route we all need to take a little 'wild' step-well I certainly did. I had never been creative before and card making needed me to' create without fear', I needed to' unleash my creativity' and 'dare to be creative'. All steps that felt a little 'wild' to me. Now I do create, I  tend to stay in my comfort zone of CAS. Perhaps now and then I should get a little wild and go all patterned paper, layers and ribbons on you!

Out Guest Designer this week is Jen. Her blog, My Paper Epiphany is full of inspiring projects. Take a look around and leave her some love.

Our DT have all got different takes on the word-take a look here and then get inky!

Time Out #31

Time to take TIME OUT and join in our 'Theme' challenge at Time Out Challenges.
Our theme this week is one of my favourites:

Grunge with the optional twist of embossing.

Here is what I came up with using the embossing twist:

Stamplorations are sponsoring us this week so I have used their stamps. The sentiment is from the Bold Sentiments-Hello and the grunge strip is from the Celebrate Artsy set-I have heat embossed this. The sentiment is fussy cut and popped up on a foam pad.

I gave this card to my hubby as a few weeks ago as he ran a half marathon for charity and beat his personal best time by 5 mins. He was over the moon and I was so proud. He loved this card and it is still proudly displayed on our mantle piece!

We are joined today by a fabulous and very creative Guest Designer, Ksenija. Her blog, sweet kobylkin, is a joy to visit. Take a peek and you will come back inspired to create!

Check out what out DT have created to inspire you to join us-here-plus you will see what Stamplorations goodies you could win!

I will enter this card into the 'embossing' challenge at Just Us Girls and the Anything Goes at STAMPlorations

Have fun x

Create without Fear

It's not often I post twice in one day but the rest of the week is the new release at Uniko so I will be here everyday showing off some sneak peeks.

My card here was inspired by the 'shape' challenge at CASology. When I saw this cue card I was going to go along the geometric line but before I did I pulled out the dictionary and looked up 'shape' and there was the verb-'to shape' with the alternatives 'to mould' and 'to create' Why hadn't I thought of that-good old dictionary to the rescue!

With this in mind I came up with:

Before I made this I looked up a colour combo and came across the monochromatic crisp cantaloupe challenge at  Colour Me. I also based my layout on the sketch at retro sketches-this is a very CAS version however it was this sketch I had in mind when making this card.

I will also enter this into the following challenges:

STAMPlorations-anything goes-the sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

See you tomorrow.

Happy Days with Fusion.

Hi All

I am here my card for Fusion's Happy Days Challenge. The photo this week totally inspired this card-the stripes was the big pull but the other colours and the red flowers I have also used. I challenged myself to make this a one layer card.

The stripes and flowers are both from Uniko and the sentiments are a mix of Stamplorations and Winnie and Walter

Here is the Fusion photo:

CASEplorations!

A very Happy Monday,

Today I am playing along at the CASEplorations challenge at STAMPlorations.

This month the challenge is to CASE a fabulous card by the very talented and fun Kimberley. I always admire Kimberley's cards and when I saw her card for STAMPlorations I had to join in the fun.

Here is what I came up with:

And here is Kim's card:

As you can I see I kept to Kim's lay out but decided to have my base as a pastel mix of water colours. I had to leave this overnight as I water coloured straight onto the base card so it needed a night to flatten out.

The rest of the card was created with a little help from my crafty friends.

-I used a die cut that STAMPlorations DT member Maria sent me.
-I heat embossed the sentiment that is from the STAMPlorations 'celebrate artsy' set-a pressie from Nonni
-the washi stickers are from Kim

Aren't craft friends the best!!

I finished off the card by using enamel dots instead of the butterflies Kimberley used.

I really enjoyed making this card. Kimberly's card was so inspiring-thank you!

I will also enter this into 'Add a butterfly/colour challenge' at House of Cards

STAMPlorations Guest Designer.

A very Happy Monday,

I am honoured to be a Guest Designer today for the sketch challenge at STAMPlorations. I was in the top 3 a few weeks ago and was asked to Guest Design for their lasted challenge.

Here is my card:

Yes, I did make this! Not my usual style I know but I saw a tutorial in the Craft Stamper magazine on creating a one layer card using masking and blending. I had been wanting to give it a go for a while and when I saw the sketch for this challenge I knew I had to step outside my comfort zone and have a go.

I have used the Oh, Christmas Tree Stamplorations set to create this.

Here is the sketch:

Check out the details of this challenge and all the cards from the DT here

I will enter this into:

Addicted to Stamps and More #131

Hello my friends,

We have our Anything Goes Challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More. So you can let your creativity go wild!

I needed a Wedding card and have gone with the colours of the Bridesmaid's dresses:

The dresses are this exact green. I thought some silver embossing looked good with this colour. These 3 little hearts are all from this Uniko set. I finished off with giving the card some texture using the linen impression plate. I am pleased how this turned out as I found this colour quite a challenge for a Wedding card.

This  week are being sponsored by Sweet Pea Designs who have some amazing digis and they are offering 4 to our winner.

Once more our D.T have made some fabulous cards to inspire you. Check them out here

I will enter this into the CAS and embossing challenge at Happy Little Stampers

Inkspirational #76

Our challenge this week at Inkspirational is to
use rose shades of red and /or pink. You may also use green leaf colours, black, white or cream and realistic colours for skin, fur and hair.

I went with pink:

Yes, I actually got out my copics and used 3 shades to colour my flower. This is a boxed bloom from STAMPlorations. I haven't coloured for a while and am not so good at it but I did enjoy making this and do find colouring and blending relaxing.

For this challenge we are joined by the very creative and innovative Jill. She creates amazing cards and if you don't know Jill pop over to her blog My Life In Paper and you will be inspired.

Don't forget to check out what our DT have created for you here and then get stamping!

I will enter this into CASology-Birthday.

Thanks Kara

Hello all

This week I haven't had much time to craft but today I really wanted to make something but time was short and I needed some quick inspiration. Then I remembered that yesterday Lynn posted that Kara is running a challenge to be inspired by her Friday Inspiration File. I had a look through here and immediately found this card by Kim-loved it and went straight off and cased it using the sketch this week at STAMPlorations-I have used the long sentiment for the strip.

Now I look at this card, I realise how 'me' it really is and guess this is why Kim's card caught my eye...we are attracted to the cards we like to make!

Apologies for the darkish photo!

The sentiment and small circles are from STAMPlorations.

I got my crafting and blogging fix all in 30 mins-amazing what you can do when you get some stunning inspiration and just stick to what you love. For me that is a few stamps, some ink, CAS and pink and grey help!!

I will enter this into:

CASology-date-this is going to a friend who is celebrating a special 'milestone' Birthday!!

Inspired by Many!

Hello my friends,

I have been making cards for my family over the last week and I had just one more to do. I got the idea for this after browsing some challenges. This card is off to my Uncle and Aunt. Very CAS but was inspired by quite a few challenges.

The sentiments are from Winnie and Walter and CAS-ual Fridays
The circles are from STAMPlorations-holiday artsy

I was inspired by the following challenges:

Less is More-black, metallic and one other-mine is the silver/grey ink. I stamped the 'family' in gold delicata ink but decided it wasn't metallic enough so added some gold metallic dots.
AAA Cards-a touch of gold
Curtain Call-this is where I got the idea to add silver (the silver can in the picture jumped out at me) although I had to go for grey as I don't have any silver ink and didn't feel like embossing. (must find some-any ideas?)
STAMPlorations-January challenge-Stamps and Ink. I will also enter this into their Anything Goes Challenge

Enjoy your day xx
