Nail Challenge Collaborative: January 2018 - Blue
Hey there! Today I have my first post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative January theme which is blue. All manis for this month should have blue as the main color, but can use other colors as accents.
For this look I decided to do a pond mani. The way a pond mani works is that you start with a jelly polish then you stamp or use a dotting tool to create the next layer, then you polish over it with the jelly polish, then stamp, then polish, etc. etc. etc.! I never realized how time consuming this nail art can be!
I started with 2 coats of Rica Squishy Blueberry. This is a really sheer jelly so that's why I decided to do two coats. Then I stamped the snowflakes using MoYou London Festive 03 plate and Rica Whiteout. I repeated this process two more times with two coats of Squishy Blueberry then stamping and finished up with two more coats of Squishy Blueberry. I don't want to tell you how long it took me to do this.
I am really happy with how it turned out though. It's a cool look just very time consuming to create. I hope you like it!

Nail Challenge Collaborative: September 2017 - Inspired by a Garment
Hey there! Today I have my second post for the Nail Challenge Collaborative September Inspired by a Garment theme. For this one I went with an orange and black plaid look based on a top I saw online and love!
I started with a base of OPI It's a Piazza Cake. I did two coats and finished it with topcoat. This color totally screams fall to me. It's the perfect burnt orange and totally reminds me of pumpkin and falling leaves.
This is the shirt that inspired this look. I used MoYou London Black Knight and Hipster 05 plate to create this look. I wish I had the link to this top to share with you, but I can't find it anymore. This makes me really sad because I really want to purchase it!
My stamping isn't perfect on this one, but I'm still happy with it. It totally resembles the top that inspired me, and this look reminds me of fall and Halloween.

Nail Challenge Collaborative: August 2017 - Flowers
Hey there! Today I have my third post for the Nail Challenge Collaborative August Flowers theme. I went with a stamped roses for this look.
I started with a base of Supernatural Lacquer Amulet which is shown above. Amulet is a deep jewel toned blue in a blackened base. I love colors like this. They're so vampy and perfect for fall. I've owned this color for a while, and I'm so happy I finally got around to wearing it!
I used Rica Mellow Yellow and Pinky Promise for my roses. Rica makes some of my favorite stamping polishes, and I've shown you Whiteout and Blackout many times before. She also makes stamping polishes in other colors, and these are two of them. I really love these polishes and hope she decides to make more colors in the future.
I stamped with Born Pretty Store BPL-024 plate which I also used in my last post. This plate is all flowers, and I love all the different options. If I get the time to do one more post I will most likely use this plate again!
I hope you like my colorful roses. I love how they look over the blue base. I wouldn't normally have done a combination like this, but I'm so happy with how it turned out.

Nail Challenge Collaborative: August 2017 - Flowers
Hey there! Today I have my second post for Nail Challenge Collaborative August Flowers theme. I did these earlier in the month, but just haven't had time to write a post so I'm finally getting to it now. If you follow me on Instagram @samantha1027 then you might have already seen the base I did for this look.
I'm really happy with how these turned out. I like the fan brush nail art under the stamping and plan on doing more looks like this in the future. I should have at least one more post for this month's challenge if not two so keep on the lookout for them.

The Nail Challenge Collarborative: August 2017 - Flowers
Hey there! Today I have my first post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative August Flowers theme. We've changed things up in NCC, and this month the members got to vote for the theme. I actually voted for flowers so I'm glad that theme won. There's a lot of nail art you can do with a flowers so it should be fun to see what everyone comes up with.
I started with a base of Polish'M Tahitian Treasure which was part of the Seasonal Indie Box for summer. This purple polish is gorgeous especially with the blue to gold duochrome shift. In this photo you can really see the gold coming through. It really shines!
I tried something new for my nail art. I went with layered stamping which I've never done before. I used the MoYou London Princess 13 stamping plate for both stamps. First I did the checkerboard using MoYou London Last Dragon then I stamped the flowers on top with MoYou London Sweet Wysteria. I love how subtle the flowers are, and I feel like they work really well over the checkerboard.
I'm very happy with how this turned out, and I will definitely be doing layered stamping again in the future. This also coincides with the When Colours Collide purple theme so it worked out for both of my challenges. I hope you like this.
Have you done any stamped flower nail art? Which plates do you like best?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative: July 2017 - Beach/Ocean
Hey there! Today I have for you my fourth and final post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative July Beach/Ocean theme. This look is a recreation for a look I did in July 2015 for our Travel theme yet I used different polishes. You can see that post here.
I started with a base of Tonic Nail Polish Deep Sea-Crets which is a beautiful turquoise crème with peachy-pink shimmer. I am addicted to shimmer polishes lately and let me tell you this one is a beauty! I stamped with Rica Whiteout, my go-to white stamping polish if you haven't figured that out yet, and MoYou London Sailor 06 plate to create the waves/water look. Then I painted my tips with Zoya Bar to create the sand. I really love how the shimmer in Deep Sea-Crets looks like the sun hitting the water. It's a great effect that I didn't even plan for.
This is definitely one beach that I want to go to! I hope that you've liked all of my posts for this month's theme. I'm excited to see what we'll be doing next month!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative: July 2017 - Beach/Ocean
Hey there! I hope you are enjoying the summer. Today I have my second post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative July Beach/Ocean theme. I started with a base of Essie Sand Tropez. I love this color as a nude and it worked well in this mani. I then did a gradient with Essie Sand Tropez and Bobbing for Baubles to look like the water hitting the sand. Finally I stamped with MoYou London Sailor 05 plate and Rica Whiteout to create the ocean creature look.
I think this turned out really cute. I love the stamp and the cute shells and starfish. The color combo is one of my favorites with the nude and navy. It looks like the water at night to me.
What fun beach manis have you done? What polishes do you think work best for a beach theme?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative: July 2017 - Beach/Ocean
Hey there! Today I have my first post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative July Beach/Ocean theme. I love themes like this because they leave things up to interpretation and give a lot of options on what to do.
I started with my base colors of Sephora by OPI I'm Wired and Rica Challah Back. I used these colors because they were the colors for the latest When Colours Collide challenge and I thought they work well for the beach theme. This is 3 coats of I'm Wired and 2 coats of Challah Back. I love how these colors look together and need to wear them more often.
I wanted to do something cute and fun for my first mani and saw this seahorse stamp on my MoYou London Sailor 05 plate. I love seahorses so figured this one would be perfect since it's beachy and summery!
I really love how this turned out. I love subtle stamping sometimes and this was perfect for a summer mani! Have you done any beach nail art this summer or have any trips planned to the beach?
I have a few more beach/ocean ideas up my sleeves so check back to see what I come up with!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative: June 2017 - Neon
Hey there! Today I have my third post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative June Neon theme. I am really loving this theme if you can't already tell. I hope to get a few more posts in before the end of the month, but I have a busy schedule so we will see!
I started with a base of one of my favorite neon pink polishes, Zoya Lola! This color is gorgeous and a great summer color. It is slightly sheer though so I needed to do four coats.
I wanted to just do something simple for this mani and decided just to do some silver stamping. I used Zoya Trixie and Born Pretty Store BPL-024 plate to create this look. I thought the paisley design was fun, but not too overwhelming to take away from the pink.
I'm also participating in the When Colours Collide challenge which is a bi-weekly challenge where colors are selected and you can only use those for your nail art. This week's colors were pink and silver so the timing worked out perfectly.
I hope you like this look. What nail art challenges do you participate in? Have you done any fun neon nail art?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative: June 2017 - Neon
Hey there! It's been so long since I've done a blog post, but I'm trying to get back into my nail art challenges and to focus more time on doing my nails. Today I have my first post for The Nail Challenge Collaborative June Neon theme. It's been 6 months since I've posted for this challenge, and I'm so excited to come back to such a fun theme.
I started with a base of this gorgeous chartreuse neon mystery polish from Pahlish. This color screams summer to me and is such a fun color. Pahlish mysteries are just that so you never know what you're going to get, but I'm so happy I got this one. This is two coats plus Tonic Topper topcoat.
I didn't want to take away from this beautiful color so decided just to do some simple stamping and went with a black polish to accentuate the neon yellow. I used at Rica Blackout with MoYou London Punk 04 plate to create this look.
I really love how this turned out. It's simple, but really makes a statement. It's super fun for summer and would still be on my nails if I could wear nail art at work!
I hope you love this as much as I do. What nail art designs do you like to do with neon polishes? I have two more looks that I'll be doing for this challenge, but hopefully more if I have time.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - August 2016: Neon
*purchased by me*
I started with a gradient using Philly Loves Lacquer "Blue Kids On The Block" and "This Lime Around" from The Bright Stuff, Baby collection. I love this neon collection and have enjoyed doing gradients with the polishes. They've been perfect for this month's neon theme!
Hey there! Today I have my third post for August's neon theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. I have had this saved for a while, but didn't have time to write a post so sorry I'm a little late.
I started with a gradient using Philly Loves Lacquer "Blue Kids On The Block" and "This Lime Around" from The Bright Stuff, Baby collection. I love this neon collection and have enjoyed doing gradients with the polishes. They've been perfect for this month's neon theme!
For my middle and ring fingers I decided to do some stamping using Zoya Ryan and Born Pretty Store BPL-024 stamping plate. I loved the big flower design on this plate, and I think it turned out great!
I have had so much fun with this month's neon theme. I'm actually going to miss it. September's theme is Harvest Time which should be fun too!
I hope you liked all of my posts for August. Which was your favorite? What would you do for the Harvest Time theme?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - August 2016: Neon
*purchased by me*
Hey there! Today I have my second post for this months The Nail Challenge Collaborative neon theme. I really love this theme. It's perfect for summer!
I started with a base of three coats of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Sirene Fatale. This is a gorgeous hot pink neon with purple flash. It's one of my all time favorite polishes. It dries matte, but I prefer it with topcoat!
I then stamped using Rica Whiteout and Born Pretty Store BPL-024 stamping plate. I chose a pretty flower design because it went well with the pink polish.
I'm really happy with how this mani turned out. It's perfect for summer & I love how you can still see the purple flash with the stamping over it.
Here is a pic of Sirene Fatale alone just so you can see how pretty it is! It's quite obvious why it's my favorite polish!
What did you think of this look? What's your favorite polish?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative - July 2016: 80's
*purchased by me*
Hey there! July's theme for The Nail Challenge Collaborative is 80's. One thing that always makes me think of the 80's is neon colors and geometric shapes. We've changed the "rules" in The Nail Challenge Collaborative so starting this month we'll have to do a minimum of two posts a month, but can still do four with time permitting.
I started with a base of Rica "Whiteout" then created a gradient using Philly Loves Lacquer "Sunshine After The Rain", "We've Got It Glowin' On" and "Hip Hop Marmalade". These colors are from The Bright Stuff, Baby collection which was their 2016 neon collection. All of the polish names are based on Boy Band songs so of course I needed the entire collection!
After the gradient dried I stamped using MoYou London "Black Knight" and The Pro XL 18 plate. This is my first time using a MoYou London stamping polish and let me tell you it stamped like perfection. I will definitely be getting more stamping polishes from them in the future.
I really love how this mani turned out. The gradient worked out so well for me, and I love the stamping over it. It definitely reminds me of the 80's!
What do you think of this look? What would you do for 80's nail art?
