Bread, mummies, and menu-boards.

Today was my Saturday. I didn't have to work today and decided to GET STUFF DONE today. (Ok... so I made the mummies last week... but I just took a picture of them today so they get to be included.)

1. MUMMIES! How cute are these 2x4 mummies? I got the idea off of Pinterest and couldn't believe how easy they were. I already had the white fabric and the white paint, so they were super cheap! (Oh how I love super cheap!)
2. DRY-ERASE MENU BOARD. I have seen these everywhere and decided it was time to make one. (Plus I was waiting for my bread to rise.) What I love about this one is the burlap on the back of it. So cute. I haven't filled out my menu yet... but you get the idea.
3. BREAD!!!! I haven't bought bread at the store for about a month now! YEY! I started making bread with my mom. She is amazing and makes her own wheat bread. (Grinds the wheat and everything... she's fanominal!) Well, my hubby does not care for wheat bread, so I decided to find a white bread recipe and go from there. All I can say is... Heaven bless my BOSCH mixer! Making bread is so so so easy now! We don't even use a bread board. So easy and fast!

Halloween Cookies w/ Haven

Halloween cookie cutters.

Adding all the ingredients.

No cookie adventure would be complete without flour on the faces.

Rollin' it out

We may have made a bit of a mess with the flour.

Getting ready to decorate

There was some serious decorating going on with this chick.

The finished product. :)

Mmmmmm...soup.

The weather has finally turned cold, and to kick off the Fall season I made the best soup today. It's called Chicken Enchilada Soup. I found the recipe on Pinterest. You can click here to go to the full blog w/ the recipe. I rate it a full 10 out of 10 on the good soup scale, and a 9 out of 10 on the easy-peesy scale! (Two very important qualities, if you ask me.)

It's so good. You really should whip up a batch, sit by the fire and welcome Fall with a nice full tummy!

Halloween Subway Art!

Look what I made! I tried to find subway art that I liked for Halloween this year... and I just wasn't crazy about any that I found. So I made this one up and wanted to share it. :) Feel free to copy and print one yourself! I did one in color and also one in Black & White...just because.

Up-dating-ness

It's been awhile, so in a nut shell... here are some of the highlights that have happened lately (and some not so lately).

This fall Levi's been the athletic trainer for Kanab High's (go Cowboys!) football team. It's kept him busy and he is glad to be back working with the kids again. The picture below is Levi tending to a concussion kid at halftime of the Kanab vs. So. Sevier game. It good to see him in some Cowboy red!

We've (well mostly Levi's) been busy helping out with the Deer Range project. There's a lot to do and a short time to do it in, so I'll leave out the particulars, but Levi's been having a ball being able to go out there and work with his dad laying pipe, building fence, pushing lines, etc.
Levi and Layne working on the pipeline.

It's been so good to be back home for awhile. We've missed being able to get out and ride, so it's been nice to be back in the saddle.
Dad, taking a head count.

Riding up under the pink cliffs. :)

We've also had some projects... let me rephrase that... Mom has had some projects for us. We sort of tag-teamed this classroom project with Levi taking the bookshelves and me taking the coat-racks. (With a little help from him routering the edges.) I think they turned out rather good.

My coat-racks (also in mom's classroom).

I just can't seem to pry Levi away from Deer Range. (Not that I really have tried... or even want to for that matter) We've spent a lot of time out there this past summer and really enjoyed it. He usually works and I help on occasion (or take a book) depending on what the project is. Deer Range is a funny piece in our puzzle... it's actually where we met as kids... and we do enjoy heading out there when the occasion permits. :)

See... like I said... he usually finds something to work on.

Happy 4th of July!

Remember how I said I was out of control with the crafts? Well... here's more evidence for you. I LOVE the 4th of July and these flags and firecrackers were too perfect to pass up on. The only thing I had to buy was the 2x4 and some sand paper. I had the paint, mod-podge paper, wire, and twine already. My total cost was $3.64. How sweet is that!?

Now I'm ready to celebrate!

Rosettes... better late than never.

I have been slightly out of control lately in the crafting department. I finally decided to make one of those fabric rosette necklaces I've been seeing on a ton of craft blogs. I actually really like how it turned out. I didn't take a picture with me wearing it, because I've been laying sod and am absolutely filthy! But, if I remember I'll take one the next time I put it on.
Love this!

Summer Games

Levi went over to Cedar to play in the Summer Games last week. He played in the 30 and under group with a bunch of guys he knew from high school. (Not all from the same school, but you get the idea). They did well. It was fun to watch him play again. So... shout out to the hubster!

(#4 in the pictures below)

I tried to get better pictures... but it turns out... I'm not very good. :) Oh well, you get the idea.

Kiddos

Jamie and I have had so much fun with Heather's kids the past couple of days. Heather is up here for some teachers conference and we've gotten to keep the kids with us at Jamie's house while she's here. I am exhausted, but we had so much fun! (I had a camera up there noses the whole time so there are lots of pictures... enjoy.) :)

Day 1: Park-equipped with water feature, Swimming (I was in the pool with them, so there are no pictures of that one), and Trafalga- mini golfing (and mom) included. (thank heavens for free passes.) :)

Day 3: I don't have any pictures of day 3, but we took the girls to see Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. They thought it was hilarious... we'll just leave it at that. We also went and played at the treehouse in the mall and got ice cream at Cold Stone. Then they headed back home with their mom. :(
