Almost finished... then it's OFF we go!!

So there is FINALLY light at the end of the tunnel! I thought that this quarter would NEVER end! Veterinary Medical Terminology was my nemisis this quarter. (To all you regular med. term. students... I envy you... I would LOVE only having to learn one name for something, as opposed to one or more for each species!) Anyways... I only have one more final to go and we are free for the holidays! (Everyone better be thinking smart thoughts for me this Wednesday... I'll need 'em!)

Levi's been done for a while with his semester. (It kinda sucks that he's on semesters and I'm on quarters. Our breaks are RARELY at the same times!) He did soooo well in his physical therapy and athletic training classes!!! I had to give him a shout out!

We are spending Christmas this year with Levi's family at their cabin. I'm so excited to have a break for the holidays. Of course we will go and visit my family too. (That's the beauty of having families that live close to one another.) I'm a little nervous for my first Christmas away from home, but am also really excited for it as well! (I just hope someone films my dad and his "present from santa" this year.)

Well... since I probably won't update this again before Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and we'll see you in the new year!!!

...and the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

I did it! I finished our Christmas stockings today! I took pictures throughout the whole process so you can see how they were put together. I love it that I used the same pattern that my mom used to make our stockings when we were kids!

I found a bunch of different christmas (and a little camo) material. Some of it was leftovers I had, some I just went and bought 1/4 of a yard of fabric (it cost like 60 cents), and most of it was actually remnant pieces you can find at fabric stores. (I love those because the are SO cheap!!!)
I cut most of the material into little squares. (I kept all the leftovers... you'll see why later.)

Honestly... the hardest part of the whole process (and the most fun) was laying out the pieces so that no two patterns were touching. (And even that wasn't too difficult since I has a lot of different patters!)

After I got all the sqares sewn together I laid it out on the floor and put the pattern over it... cut the pattern out and... wall-a!!! Was done with one of the fronts!

This is where I used the left-overs of the fabric. I decided, instead of using one solid piece on the back of the stocking, (or patchworking ANOTHER side) I would jsut sew the left-overs together to make the back.

The finished product.....

They turned out alright I think! (Oh, screw it.... I FREAKING LOVE THEM!)

Deck the Halls.

Levi and I had to end our Thanksgiving holiday break a little early this year. Levi was scheduled to work Saturday morning so we had to come back up Friday night. I was a little sad that I had to leave Kanab early, and I think Levi could tell. (Apparently I'm not much of an actress.)
After Levi got off work, he came home and asked if I wanted a surprise. (Anyone who knows me, knows the answer to that question!) He made me close me eyes and drove me all over Ogden. I had no idea where we were. When I finally got to open my eyes we were.....
..... 2 blocks from our house.
Seriously. But the good news is that 2 blocks from our house is a Christmas tree lot!!! He drove me all over just to disorient me so I wouldn't guess where we were. So we picked out our tree, (A cute little one that fits in our apartment), picked up some Christmas tree necessities (stand, skirt, lights, ornaments, etc...) I had so much fun decorating for our first Christmas together! (I'm not sure how much fun Levi had... but he was a very good sport!)
Happy Holidays!!! Enjoy the pictures!

My lumberjack haulin' in our tree.

Setting it up in the stand. (We got it straight on the second try... that's gotta be a christmas tree stand record or something!)

Stringin' the lights.

Topping it off with the star.

The finished tree.

Add the nativity...

... and ta da!!! Christmas with the Fevs.

My favorite part about decorating for Christmas is the nativities, so I had to have pictures of both of them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
