Digging through the photos.

So I was digging through a bunch of old photos, (well actually I was trasnsferring a bunch of photos from one computer to another, but whatever), and I came across a bunch of old ones of me when I was younger. I was almost crying I was laughing so hard. And it made me realize how much I've changed over the years. So I thought, I'd put some of them on here... that way I will have them saved with all the other blogs. So, if you are interested in a blog-full-of-me... then by all means, keep reading. If your not that fond of me... then what the crap are you doing on my blog?

I thought this picture was so funny. I took that blankie everywhere, and evidently couldn't sleep without it. (Props to mom for capturing the moment on most of these pictures by the way.)

So, evidently I was always a little weird. Hmm?... I think I still make that face at the camera from time to time. (sorry Jamie)

Awe! Wouldn't it be nice if we could all stay as cute as we were at age 7? (For those of you who are... bite me.)

Remember when you could go outside and spend hours playing in a hammock (playing not sleeping) or on a swing? Well... maybe you don't but I used to play outside for hours doing virtually nothing. Why can't we all just slow down and do "nothing" more often?

We used to ride the poor horses in never-ending circles around the Cottonwood cabin. It was like our own personal, live carosel. I don't know how we didn't get tired of it...but we never did. (Poor horses.)

I miss playing basketball so bad. I know I got to do the thing I loved more than anything for the past 4-years. And if I could go back I would make the same chooice again But, I still miss the court...

...but the thing I miss most about playing was getting to play with the best point guard EVER!!!
(Seriously, the girl is a baller!!!)

And even though I've made some amazing friends recently, I still miss all the ones who were there with me for the long ride. I wish them well wherever they are, whoever they're with, and whatever they're doing!

So, while a lot of things have changed over the years, the clothes, the hair, the friends, the habits, the activities, the priorities, etc...

... I guess in the end...

...some things never change.

An ode to my future husband.

If I were to give you a clue as to who my future husband was going to be then it would only take one for anyone to know exactly who I was talking about...
..."The reason girls everywhere are tuning into watch Utah Jazz basketball!!!!"

That's right... Mr. Kyle Korver himself.

So, I wouldn't call myself an obsessed fan, I would just say that I was on the same level as every other woman in Utah. 100% facinated by the man!

Now... I can't give you his stats like: average playing time, or where he went to college, or how many points he scores per game. Or the ones like: how he likes his steak, does he wear boxers or briefs (easy there girls... come back to me), or what's his favorite movie that only creepy-ass stalkers would take the time to look up.

But I can tell you this... The Man is HOT and earns double bonus points because he's a baller.

So thank you Mr. Korver for giving women everywhere a reason to tune into Utah Jazz basketball.

(I had to include a picture of my latest masterpiece.)

(I plan on wearing this when Jamie and I head up to a Jazz game. If you find it creepy... screw you! It's freaking hilarious!!!)

Don't ever underestimate the buzzer beater!

So... I thought that I came out the victor on the Christmas light battle, but it turns out that those pesky little lights had some tricks up there sleeve. Yes, everything I said in my last post was true. We battled, they came on, life was good, etc... yet somehow again today I was out on a ladder checking extention cords, fuses, bulbs, and outlets. (I looked pretty sweet carting a radio around and plugging it into every outlet on the premesis.)
Let me back up... I went to plug the lights in last night, ('Tis the season, right?) and the blasted icicles wouldn't come on! The rockin' H was good, and even my arch nemasis the snow globe sprung to life, but not the icicles. *Sigh!* Not the icicles.
So my victory was short lived. Kinda like that feeling you get when it's a tied ball game and your team scores with two seconds to go on the clock. (Great feeling right?) Then someone from the opposing team throws up a full court, hail mary, pull something out of your ass shot..........
.....and drains it.
(Oh... well. Maybe next year.)

FINAL SCORE Samantha: 3 Christmas Lights: 2

No, you're not reading that score wrong. I almost got my butt kicked by some Christmas lights this year. I've been putting up the Christmas lights at my parents house since I was like 13. (I like to think of myself as the "handy" child.) And this year was no exception. I've never really had too much of a problem, but this year the lights gave me a freaking run for my money.

So... I decided to put the lights up on a cold and windy day. (Mistake #1: never attempt an outside job in the cold, when you hate being cold). I dragged all the lights out of their storage boxes, checked to make sure they all worked, and headed up on the tin roof... in the wind... to perch on the edge of the house and hang the lights. (Mistake #2: never try to perch on the slippery tin edge of anything tall in the wind.)

Well, about 3 hours later, (Mistake #3: Why is it that every year, I think, "Oh yeah, Christmas lights. That job shouldn't take me more than an hour tops," when I have NEVER been done in less than 3?), anyways...I shimmied down the rather shakey latter to plug in my glowing, florescent masterpiece. Everything lit up beautifully and I silently congratulated myself on how much of a bad-ass I was. I unplugged everything, and couldn't wait to see my parents faces when they saw what their oh-so-handy daughter had done.

Well about four hours later is where things got a little sticky. When I went out to plug everything in again, NOTHING WOULD COME ON!!! NOTHING!!! I checked the outlets to make sure we still had power running to them, and checked the box to make sure I hadn't flipped a breaker along the way, but to no avail. It turns out I had to check every connection to find out where the blown fuse was. I found the sucker, and got it fixed, but then I had some re-extention-cording to do.

Anyways, the lights are all working now, (Well... except for that one dumb-ass section that never fails to faithfully glow to life when the lights on on the ground, yet fails to even make an effort when hung up on the roof!!!), the snow globe is glowing, and the "Rockin' H" has reclaimed it's station up on top of the roof after it's 2 year vacation. So, although it was a battle, I'd have to say that I came out the victor of the Chirstmas light battle once again!
