Kendra's Card Challenge 16, Card 3

I am still catching up on the challenges I missed during my move at the end of 2024. Before I can even start on Kendra’s Card Challenge 17, I need to complete Challenge 16. Here is my next card from this challenge. This time instead of using 6 6x6 pieces of patterned paper. I decided to focus on all the scrap paper I have in my bin. I haven’t used any paper from there in a while. These cards won’t have a cohesive look as the cards I usually make using Kendra’s Card challenge. Regardless, I hope it inspires you to use some of your scrap paper as well.

Using Dollar tree Stickers as a Focal Point

I think I am a bit addicted to the stickers I get at Dollar Tree.  Really every time I go, I promise myself I will not buy any.  I always give in because I just find such a cute set I can’t pass up.  This sticker was great for a two-in-one card set.  I was also pleasantly surprised to find I had in that matched it perfectly.  These would be great for quick and easy cards if you are a beginner cardmaker.  Those cupcake stickers are adorable too.

From a Baby Card to a Thank You Card Using Digital Paper

I am so excited to use some digital paper that is in my Etsy Shop. The best part is it coordinated well with some scraps I had in my stash. The inspiration photo was a baby card. I really don’t have any need for a baby card. I decided instead to do a Thank You. But I did have a cute elephant die in my stash that reminded me of the inspiration card. That polka dot patterned paper worked so well with this die. I hope you check it out in my Etsy Shop. So, I was able to use the inspiration to go from a baby card to a thank you card so easily thanks to the cute digital paper and an elephant die.

Thank You

I really love sharing my crafty and not-so-funny videos with you all. It made me smile. I hope it does the same for you. I can’t believe I have now opened an Etsy shop. I would have never found the courage with all of you my followers here and on all social media platforms. Every like, comment, share, favorited (I know it isn’t a word) video really makes my day. I never want to take this for granted so I will occasionally stop by to say thank you again! Those of you who have purchased cards from me, I appreciate it so much!

Those of you here on my blog, thank you for stopping by. Not sure why the number of views have been going up, but I appreciate your support so much!

As always, there is a video about this too here.

Using Heart Die Cuts to Make Flowers

When creating, sometimes you don’t have exactly what you need to make your project. That does not mean you have to stop and go buy a tool. Look around first. Do you have something already that may work instead? Today I used a heart die to make the flower shape I wanted. Using what you have just gives me a great sense of satisfaction. I would hate to see how much more I would spend if I bought everything, I felt I needed to complete all those projects. I hope you enjoy my take on this Pinterest-inspired card.

Emboss With Your Dies for a Different Look

I love the classic look. A great way to achieve that is to emboss with your dies for that sophisticated look. This also means you are using your stash in a different way. So, satisfying to find other ways to use your tools to create a different look on your cards. This I kept simple. Which is all that was really needed, I think. If you are new, have you ever tried using your dies to emboss? If not, you will need an embossing pad that is flexible. That is what makes sure your dies don't cut through your card stock. The embossing pad is not too expensive, so if you get a chance, I say try it out.

Using Perfect Pearl's on Dark Cardstock is Magic

If you have never tried Perfect Pearls, I highly recommend it. Combine it with Versamark Ink, which is a sticky ink, and you have magic. The best part of this to set the Perfect Pearls, all I do is spritz it with a bit of water. That’s it. It really is that easy. The price point is not too bad. I only have a couple of colors due to my limited space, but when I use them it always makes me smile. It is almost as good as melting embossing powder. Oh, as a bonus you can use them to make your own shimmer spray.

Another Pop Up Card- November Design Team Card

This card design was thanks to #cardsandcraftsyaz over on Instagram. I made a few modifications to her card design but I had such a good time figuring it out so it would turn out the way I wanted in my head. For the Patterened Paper, I used Recollections Honeysuckle. I realized I don't have many "autumn" colored patterned paper. This collection is lovely with its muted tones.

If you want all the measurements here you go: The first pieces of kraft cardstock measured 8 1/2 x 4 inches. This was scored at 1/4, 1 1/4, 3 1/4, and 4 1/4. The second piece of kraft cardstock measures 1 1/2 x 5 3/4, scored at 1/4 and 1 /14. The patterned paper pieces for the matting layers need to be, 1 1/4 x 4, 1 3/4 x 3 3/4, and 2 pieces measuring 3/4 x 3 3/4. Once the pop-up feature is completed you can add it to a 4/ 14 x 5 1/2 inch card base if you wish.

I shared a quick look of the card being made over on YouTube. You can find that video here.

The card is my submission for my Design Team project for Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge. Please check out this challenge and join in this month. You can find out all about it by clicking on the challenge name above.

Stamped Tissue Paper

For this card, I started by using Distress Oxide Inks to stamp on some flowers and leaves. This does take a while to dry so you have to be patient if you don't have a heat tool to speed up the process. I kept this really simple using a glue stick to tack this down to the card base. Using post-it note tape to keep my letters straight I spelled out Thank in die-cut letters and then added a stamped you underneath. To add a bit of shimmer I used a gold Cricut pen to emphasize any wrinkles in the tissue paper. I love that it added more detail to the card. This just reminded me to think out of the box with just cardstock and patterned paper. So much can be used to make a cute card for a friend.

This one does have a 1 minute video you can check out here.

Thank you all so much for the❤️ Love you show in liking my posts! I am thankful for all the comments as well. Not sure I have shown this card before but wanted to include it in case I had not. The bold washi next to the softness of the patterned paper really makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile😊 too. I am going to keep plugging away hoping to keep growing with you all!

Shop Your Stash- Ep. 3...Use those scraps

Right before we moved, I sat down with my bag and plastic container of scraps to make some quick cards.

I had these black and white scraps in my stash.  The scalloped circle with the sentiment and heart were already put together in my scraps.

So all I had to do was cut or tear the strips, add on the scalloped piece, and then add on one of my cute butterflies I got from Michael's....ta-da..quick and simple card.

The best part is I got to use up those cute papers I tend to horde.  You probably don't horde all those paper.  ðŸ˜‰

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Ribbon Girl July Challenge:  Anything Goes.. you can find it here.

Deep Ocean Challenge:  # 158 Lots of Layers...you can find this challenge here.
