Using Dollar tree Stickers as a Focal Point

I think I am a bit addicted to the stickers I get at Dollar Tree.  Really every time I go, I promise myself I will not buy any.  I always give in because I just find such a cute set I can’t pass up.  This sticker was great for a two-in-one card set.  I was also pleasantly surprised to find I had in that matched it perfectly.  These would be great for quick and easy cards if you are a beginner cardmaker.  Those cupcake stickers are adorable too.

Making a Sketch my Own: Ruffled Washi Again Stole the Show

I love a good sketch, and this one allowed me to do my ruffled washi technique which of, course had me all smiles. This sketch had a bit of different elements to it that I liked. I really wished I had gold eyelets for this one but the brads worked well too. Tell me are you sketch fan as well? Those Dollar Tree Stickers can't be beaten either. I just loved using these hot air balloons.

Need a Quick Simple Card, Here You Go

Quick simple, handmade cards are exactly what everyone needs. I was recently in the store looking at some cards, then made this face 😲. Granted the cards I make are not large but wow they were pricey. I will keep my high-priced craft goodies in tow instead so I can make my own. For this with just a card base and some dollar tree items, you could do this very cheaply. You don't have to have all the goodies I have. 😀 I hope you will try out this very simple card technique when you get a chance. It will only take minutes. To see the card at the top being made please watch the video found here.

How to Use Braided Cardstock on a Card

Card making can be so easy or as tough as you make it. Now braiding the cardstock was a new technique for me, but putting together this card was super simple. This is a diy all can do. So for card making tutorial, I am just showing you how this card came to be. The first layer was a simple 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of cardstock that I cut a frame using a stitched square die. The braided pieces went behind it. Then I layered this all on the card base, adding just a few stickers. One of those stickers came from Dollar Tree. I love showing you all how to make cards like this. It is a homemade treasure I hope someone appreciates when they receive it.

In case you are wondering, the other stickers came from those Spell binders Card Club Kits from back in 2021. I am just letting you know if you are one who wants to join a club kit, understand those kits will last and last. I have several months’ worth and I am not sure when I will ever use one up completely….maybe 2026?

To watch this card come together just go to the video here.

Adult Coloring Page- Made into a Card

So I picked an adult coloring book up at dollar tree. Of course, that meant a card was going to be made as soon as I got one of the images colored. I like finding things that may be unexpected to add to a card. This is just as good as some of the background papers I own. Check out your dollar tree for some alternative options if you are on a budget. To see the video for this card head here.

This was pretty quick to color so I decided to do a second one.

I bought a couple of items recently from Dollar Tree with visions of cards I could make using them.  See the video here if you are interested in what those items were, but here are some of the cards I made with them.  So much fun!

Making my own Patterned Paper- Watercolor and Rub ons

I took simple shapes to make a very simple watercolor background. Then thanks to some Dollar Tree rub ons I was able to transform those into patterned paper. To see the cards I make with this paper watch Wednesday's video. The final cards are there. Everyone can do this even beginners. So pull out your paints and those rub ons. The video for making this patterned paper is found here.

Here is one of the cards I made from the paper I created:

Dollar Tree Sticker Fun

The main panel I made with just a few stickers from dollar tree. It has been so fun pushing myself to create with just a few tools on hand.  The panel was made using index cards, with a border sticker from Dollar Tree.  Then I had a creme cardstock piece that is 3x2.  I used a couple of copic markers to draw on a frame.  All the stickers were then added from the same sticker set again from Dollar Tree.  The hearts were hand drawn for just a bit more interest.  Once I got the panel home, I added it to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base with a slightly smaller layer of patterned paper.  It is amazing how it all came together using the same color pallete.  Just such fun making these panels then turning them into cards later.

Dollartree Inspiration

Some Spooky panels made I into cards. Thanks Dollartree for all the inspiration. For the top card, I just added some bat washi tape to make it stand out a bit more.  For the one in the middle, I added black cardstock and washi tape to create the corners.  For the last card, I just trimmed the ruffle cupcake wrapper trim so it would fit the panel.

You can get so creative just by using some dollar tree items in your cardmaking.  Great for those who have a limited budget for crafting.

One Way to Disguise a Mistake

When making cards...mistakes will happen. There are a few strategies you can use...but my favorite is? Cover it up. Whether it is a sticker, bling, coloring, and in this case some half-backed pearls...it works. With this card despite dropping my stamp before I wanted to, it still turned out cute. This is another simple card that anyone can do. If you are a beginner, don't let stamping scare you...those mistakes are just a cover-up away.

To see the 1-minute video showing where I had an oops moment check it out here.

Let's make a Simple Card Using Acrylic Paints and Qtips

I did a bit of simple masking with this card. My tool I used to then paint on a framed background? None other than q-tips and some acrylic paint. I used some Dollar Tree stickers that are just the cutest to make this super simple card that even beginners can do. All of the products can be found at Dollar Tree with maybe the exception of the cardstock. So this makes this budget-friendly too. Take this idea, make it your own. Then send it to someone to brighten their day.

Glitter in Acetate Adds Wow

I recently did a short on adding glitter to a laminating pouch to make sparkly acetate, if you will. Today I used one of those pieces on this simple card using scraps I had out on my desk. I had a blended background on my desk for the longest time that I wasn't sure what I was going to do with. It was one of those things I had completed then went...oh hmm now what? Do you ever have those types of moments in your crafting? So I put the two together. It took two things that were ok on their own and made them stunning. So to finish off the card I added some of the cutest Dollar Tree stickers I have ever seen along with a simple sentiment by Lawn Fawn with gold embossing powder. This is going to be one of those cards I am going to have to send to someone very special.

One More Simple Chrismas Card... The Absolute Easiest!

Yes, I know I keep saying it..but there is still time to make a few Christmas Cards if you want to. This time I used a simple Dollar Tree Tag as the focal point. I added some sequins with white gel pen dash marks to end up with this super simple but festive card.
