Mojo Monday - Congrats Grad

I really love the Sketch over at Mojo Monday this week!!   With Graduations coming up, I thought it was a great sketch to get going on my Graduation Card stash!!  I used the papers from Follow Your Heart 6x6 Designer Paper Pad "Be Happy".  One of the Graduates I will be giving a card to had a concentration in Music - so these papers worked out perfectly!!  I distressed the edges with Sorbet ink from Close to my Heart and used a distressing tool to rough up the edges.  The black ribbon is also CtMH and the ribbon below is from my stash.  The flower is from Recollections and the sentiment is Verve - Small Celebrations.

Hope your week is off to a great start!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Mojo Monday 238

I love today's Mojo Monday Sketch - such fun to put together!!    It was easy to decide what paper I wanted to use... I just recently signed up for the monthly Key Ingredients subscription and received my April Kit from Taylored Expressions.  I used the CS and DP from the kit for this card.  The DP is from Simple Stories Fabulous 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  The Tag is also from the Kit.  The button and pink "pom-pom ribbon is Close to My Heart.  The super thin aqua blue ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Earth Day 2012

So tomorrow is Earth Day and I found the cutest image while Blog Hopping at Melonheadz Illustrating - and - it was a Freebie!!  So I took the sketch from MoJo Monday and created this card.  The base is a White textured CS from Close to My Heart.  I also used CtMH Pear CS, and some long retired buttons from my stash.  The Red Polka Dot paper is from Crate Paper Pretty Party 6 x 6 Pad.  The image is colored with Copics and the buttons tied off with Baker's Twine from the Twinery.  The red checked ribbon is recycled from my Rockport Weekend at the Linden Tree Inn - Tobey had little gift bags for us and the ribbon was used in the gift bag - Thank you Tobey!!
Hope you are all having a great weekend - Thanks for stopping by!!

Mojo Monday (on Monday!!)

One can never have enough Birthday cards on hand...  although this one is being delivered tomorrow!!  I have been wanting to use this Mo  image and decided this was the card to do it!  The sketch at Mojo Monday was perfect!!  I am also entering this card in the Challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Blog.  The challenge there is to "Bling it on" a Mo image.  I thought it made perfect sense for Birthday Mouse Flossie to wear her best party dress with the blingy ribbon around her waste!!After all, she is on her way to a Party!!

I used coordinating papers from Recollections.  The sentiment (inside it continues "a very happy birthday") is from the Verve set "Wishing You" stamped in Close to My Heart Black.  The bow and the bling are also CtMH.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Spring has Sprung!!

It really has been a crazy winter here in New England.  Warmer than usual, hardly any snow to speak of, and now Spring is here.  Climbing to the mid 70's today and the 80's tomorrow.  Not sure I am ready for the hot weather just yet...  This morning I finished up a card I started last night using the Mojo Monday sketch #233 with some Spring colors for the March Whimsie Doodles Challenge.  My friend Juanita's granddaughter Dakota is getting ready for her very first dance recital, so when I saw this Image at Bugaboo Digi Stamps it reminded me of her and the excitement a first recital brings!!

I used yellow and pink gingham checked papers from Recollections along with white and yellow CS. I layered a pink lacey "ribbon" (CtMH) on top of white shiny sheer ribbon.  The embellishments and the sentiment Little Princess are Close to My Heart.  The Ballerina was colored in with Tombow markers.

Happy Spring everyone - and thanks for stopping by!!

It's a Double...

Tonight (after some house cleaning) I made a card for the Mojo Monday Challenge.  I also wanted to do the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe, so I decided to Double Up!   I find it funny that since I've been doing these Challenges, which really isn't very long, so many of the color challenges have featured gray.  I don't think I had used gray before...  Anyway, all papers are Close to My Heart.  The Digi Image is from The Paper Shelter.  I found charcoal polka-dot grosgrain ribbon in my stash and layered yellow bakers twine tied off with a yellow button.  Three tiny buttons finish off the embellishments.

I am definitely hooked on these Challenges.  I look forward to sharing my cards with others and love to hear from other crafters.  I can (and do) lose track of time going from Blog to Blog checking out other crafters projects.  There are so many who do amazing work!!  Now I must grab some sleep before the sun rises... tomorrow is a day to go to one of my favorite Coffee Shops and stop by the ocean...  a day to seek inspiration...  Good Night All!!

Happy Birthday Calvin!!

Tonight I made a birthday card for sweet Calvin who is turning 2!  I used LORi Designs "Birthday Owen" Digi Stamp and colored it in with Tombow markers. I decided to do the LORi Design Challenge so I chose the colors around that challenge. I also am putting this card into the Mojo Monday Challenge so I used that sketch.

All paper, cardstock, ribbon, buttons and black hemp are Close to My Heart.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Mojo Monday Sketch 227

I am definitely addicted to these Challenges.  I woke up this morning before 5:00 AM, thinking about what my take on this design would be...  I love the sketch challenges at Mojo Monday!!

I did try to go back to sleep and actually didn't get up until 6...  but once I did, and had my cup of coffee, the card making began!!

I used the retired Close to My Heart paper pack Splendor.  It was just perfect for the windows I wanted to create.  I have always had a fascination for windows...  looking out, looking in...  anyway, I also used the Stamp Set D1373 Childhood Portrait for the little birds and the sentiment.

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Mojo Monday 226...

The Mojo Monday Challenge featured a choice of a circle card or a square card with the same basic design this week.

I combined both and used some of my old paper stash - Moon Doggie.  All materials used are Close to My Heart.  (I did break out an old shape cutter from Creative Memories)...  I used Cranberry ink around the edges of the "wavy circle", Coco for the edges of the choclate circle and the stamp Enjoy Life, the flower is stamped with Hydragea and Sunflower ink.

Mojo Monday 225

For this Design MOJO225 I used the Stella Paper Pack on a Chocolate base.  One of the papers has sewing patterns all over it (although I covered it up pretty good) and I have had a set of brads in one of my drawers that went perfectly with the colors and the theme of sewing!  All products except for the brads are Close to My Heart.

Mojo Monday - on Saturday!!

So here I am, early on a Saturday morning, posting my first Mojo Monday card.

I have been a "fan" from the sidelines, but today I woke up (way too early I might add) with this card design in my head, and I gave in, got up, and created my version of the Mojo Monday design.

I used all Close to My Heart products.  The Wonderland paper pack (X7146B) was perfect to use on this snowy New England morning.  The ribbons are Dark Chocolate/Colonial White stripe (Z1617) and White Daisy (Z816) and the ink Twilight (Z2160).  I used the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge (Z1686) to cut out the snowflakes in 2" and 1-3/4".

The Wonderland Paper retires January 31st.  It makes a great background for your Winter pictures!!  You can order it before it's too late by clicking on the "Shop With Me" link to the right.

Happy Paper Crafting!!
