Christmas Card Challenge

Image
I'm NEVER going to get these cards finished, I am not even half way through my list.  Yes I am feeling very disalusioned. This weeks challenge theme is: Midnight Mass.  I've used this Holly Candle image from  Ikes Art Images  to represent the candles at Midnight Mass.  I've chosen to use the sentiment "Noel" because it means Born today and Midnight mass is or used to be at Midnight thus the day Christ was born although today the Churches here have Midnight Mass at 10pm so I'm not quite sure how it works.

Not Square or Rectangle at IAAS

Image
The challenge over at  International Art and Soul  is anything but square or rectangle.  I have a thing about heart quotes at the moment so I've made this one.  I've used brushos srtaight on to the MDF shape.  The stitch details is made from Silver WOW embossing powder and the quote is printed on vellum and edged with gems..  I have written the quote myself.

Christmas Card Challenge

This weeks challenge theme is Robins.  I've made a simple book mark using  Hobby Art  stamps and then used an embossing folder to make the background. The bookmark then slots behind a piece of glitter card ready to be removed when the recipient wants to use it...well assuming they do want to use that is.

Anything goes with a theme of Paper Piecing over at Ikes Art

It's paper piecing over at  Ikes Art Challenges  now I admit I am not a paper fan, I prefer to make my own, either with gelatos or brushos so I've rumaged around for odds and ends of glitter card and papers I've made to make a patchwork of papers to showcase some of Ike's Images.  I always find it hard to choose from all her wonderful images so this meant I could use a sample of my favourites.  These and many more are available in her shop at  Ikes Art .

Christmas Card Challenge

This weeks theme is all about those Christmas Stories and gifted books.  I've used a penny black stamp to make a bookatrix card.

An art journal page on "time".

I wasn't going to do this, I wasn't going to discuss the current situation with Covid-19.  I wanted to distance myself from the stress of it and also provide somewhere others could get respite from it if they need to so with any luck this will be both my first and last post about it. Unfortunately it has worked in such a way that in trying to do the right thing minority communities are being forgotten and it's time there are as many advocates for those as possible, because of some recent experiences and support I've subsequently received to help me with pushing for things to be made better I've decided that whilst my blog might not have many viewers and readers if just one person can understand how important it is that the forgotten people in this society whether that's by the government, local authorities or by individuals or even large numbers of people in the communities are remembered and there's an effort to reach them, then it's one step towards ...

One Word multiple times at IAAS

Image
The theme for  International Art and Souls  challenge is use one word multiple times.  I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do for this but luckily  Ike's Art  has some words that proved useful.  I bought the sea life stamps from Bumbleberry crafts but cannot remember who made them sorry.

Christmas Card Challenge

Hey I'm still ploughing through my Christmas Cards and this weeks theme is Snowpeople.  I love these stamps from Molly Bloom they are so cute but yet realistic.

Christmas Card Challenge

I'm back with another Christmas card and this time it's got a theme of flying reindeer.  This was such a fun card to make and I am delighted that I bought a die to make a pop up card.
