A sunflower card

Hi There! Today I thought I would show you how I made this single layer card.

I began by using the 4" Sunflower easy frame inkable, blending  distress oxide ink around it.

Next I popped the innie inkable in and blended a little vintage photo distress oxide ink through the petals.
I then stamped the Doodle Art mandala in the centre using brown versafine clair ink.
I coloured the mandala with ecoline pens, but then I felt the petals weren't quite prominent enough...
so I took a brown fine liner and outlined the petals in the style of Bev.
I placed the innie over the sunflower and added twisted citron distress ink through the fernando big one inkable.
I stamped a small border stamp (this one is from the regular Doodle Art sunflower set) and added some liquid pearls to the mandala and the border.
finally I added a sentiment from the small words set.
Here is my finished card.
I used:
5x5" card blank
Distress ink in Twisted Citron
Versafine clair brown ink
liquid pearls

Crafting is minimal for me at the moment, but the craft room renovations are progressing nicely. Here are a few photos from this week.

3 days for the plaster to dry out then the painting can begin. I will be doing a little live for Bee Crafty on Wednesday evening at 8pm on their facebook page if you fancy joining me.
Thanks for looking!

A sunflower greeting

I recently invested in some distress oxide sprays and so thought I would use them to make a simple background. Now I have to admit it isn't a big background making session, but I will experiment further when I get the chance.

First I sprayed a piece of mixed media card with crackling campfire, rustic wilderness and a bit of water.

I dried it with a heat tool and then splattered it with the same inks, some water and a little brushed corduroy

I left it to dry and stamped the regular sunflower onto watercolour card using versafine clair ink.

I coloured it with ecoline brush pens and cut it out.

Next I matted and layered the inky panel to the front of a 6 x 6" square card blank, before stamping some splatters from the same stamp set in crackling campfire, rustic wilderness and speckled egg distress oxides.

I stamped the sunflower onto the card so I had a clear idea of where I wanted to stick it down. This also allows for any bits that might have been cut off during the fussy cutting.

Finally I stuck down the sunflower and added a few spots of liquid pearls and jewel drops plus a few white pen highlights.

Here is a look at the finished card again. I have left it without a sentiment for now, as it could be a thinking of you, birthday or anniversary card.

I hope you are keeping safe and well.

 Thanks for looking!
