New Home Card

Hi There! Thought I would show you how I created this new home card today. I used 3 colours to make it so it fits the theme for this months bee Crafty Stamps Facebook challenge.

I began by smooshing Distress oxide inks in Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac and Dried Marigold onto a 12.5 cm square of mixed media paper. I also added a few splatters of Spiced Marmalade distress spritz once it was dry.
Next I placed Mandala 7 inkable over the top and blended a little Peacock Feathers ink around the edge of the inkable.
On a separate piece of mixed media card I stamped sky terrace in Black Versafine Clair ink and cut it out. I water coloured it using the same distress oxide inks.
Finally, I added the house to the background panel using 3d foam pads, matted and layered it to the front of a 15cm square card and added a wordy sticker sentiment.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in Shaded lilac, Salvaged patina, Dried Marigold and Peacock Feathers
Distress spritz in Spiced Marmalade
15cm square base card

I hope you get chance to enter the challenge and have fun experimenting with different colour combinations. Thanks for looking!

A Happy Journal page

After watching Bev's live on Tuesday I was eager to create a journal page with my Bee Mine Stamps, as so far I had only used them to make cards. Here is what I did.

I began by smooshing picked Raspberry and Wild Honey Distress oxide inks on to the page.
When this was dry, I added some villainous potion distress oxide through the mandala #2 inkable.
I used Versafine Clair Monarch ink to add a border from freehand borders#2 where there was no stencilling.
Using the same ink, I stamped the word happy across the page near the bottom.
I cut out Don't Worry, Bee Happy from the Transparencies Bee Words and attached with matte medium.
On a separate piece of card, I stamped three of the smallest bees and coloured them with ecoline pens.
I added these to the page using matte medium too.
Finally, I added some white gellyroll pen to happy, and some sparkle pen to the bees' wings
Here is the finished page again.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in wild honey, picked raspberry and villainous potion

This was the penultimate page in my journal, so very soon I am going to tackle the cover, possibly even on Wednesday during my live - It is all very exciting!

A Quick card

Hi There! thought I would show you how I made this quick card today!

I began by taping the outie of Mandala inkable #4 to a 6x6 card, then blending distress ink into the centre. I used Twisted citron in the middle, then peacock feathers and wilted violet around the outside.
Next I popped the mandala in and blended black soot ink through it.
I removed the inkable and stamped the bird and words from Sketchy Birds into the centre.
Using a grey pencil crayon I added a little shading around the bird.
Here is the finished card again. Perfect for a teacher at the end of term 😉
I used:
6x6 card blank
Distress inks in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet and Black Soot
Grey Colouring Pencil

Our Challenge over in the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook Group is to make a quick card. I hope this inspires you to come over and join us and have a go! Thanks for looking!

Bold Colours!

Hi There! I have been enjoying getting inky and combining some different colours into a simple card where the sentiment is the focus. Here is how I made it.

I began by blending seedless preserves and faded lilac distress oxide inks onto a 14cm square of mixed media paper.
I then placed over the mandala 4 inkable and blended prize ribbon ink through it
Next I splattered it with water...
...and some Pretty Gets Gritty Artemis Explosion powder mixed with water. I set it aside to dry.

I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder before matting and layering it to the card on sticky pads.
Here is a closer look at the finished card. It makes me think of batik fabric.
I used
6 x6" blank card
Black card
Mixed media card
Sticky pads or 3d gel for attaching the sentiment
Before I go here are my Nutcracker samples for the Craft Store show last week
I decorated 4 of the regular sized mdf nutcrackers

For this one I used alcohol pens on parchment paper stuck behind the front piece
This was the same nutcracker but not backlit
I also made a couple of cards combining the stamps with some older stamps over inky backgrounds...

Next week's project may well involve a nutcracker too!

Thanks for looking and I hope you can join in the challenge over in the Bee Crafty Facebook group where the theme is Stay subtle or Be Bold with your colours!

A New Home Card

Hi there! My new prize ribbon Distress oxide and distress ink arrived on Saturday so I thought I would try it out. There were other goodies in my parcel too, but I will show you those at a later date.
I began by brushing Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink through Mandala 4 Inkable onto a 6 x 6" white card.

Next I took the circles D'inkable and brushed Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink through it top left and bottom right.
I added Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide through the Bakewell Big One Inkable bottom left.
Next I stamped Sky Terrace in the Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide ink onto a scrap of white card and die cut it.
I used foam pads to stick it to the front of the card and added the sentiment in Prize Ribbon Oxide ink. Here is the finished card again
Here are links to the products I used:

This was a very simple card to make and ticks all the boxes for our challenge on the Bee Crafty Facebook Group this month where the Theme is to use Stamps and Inkables.
Bev and Sam are off to The Craft Store for a Happy Hour this Thursday (19th August) featuring the Doodle Art houses at 11am. Make sure you tune in to grab those bargains!

Happy Crafting!

A journal page for Bee Crafty

Hi there! Over the last month I have bought a few new goodies with my birthday money, so it was time to try them out! Here is a journal page in my 8x8 dylusions journal using several of them.

I used:
Gold gilding wax
Versamark ink
Gold Liquid pearls
A small piece of black card

Here's what I did:

I applied some texture paste through the mandala stencil to the page and left it to dry.
Next I sprayed it with the Dina Wakely gloss sprays, then left it to dry very thoroughly

I applied gilding wax to the mandala area before setting the journal aside.

I stamped the la Luna and the moon stamps in versamark onto the collage paper and heat embossed with gold powder.
I cut these out and applied them to the page with gel medium.
I used archival ink to stamp some borders and add a few extra details. Some white pen helped to make them stand out a little.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the black card and cut it out.
I added it to the page with the gel medium, and added a few dots of liquid pearls on the circles and at the corners.
This was the first page in my new journal, although it isn't at the front. I want to get used to working on a bigger page before I attempt that.
If you do a journal page or a tag this month using Bee Crafty products, you can enter it in the current challenge in the Bee Crafty facebook group for a chance to win some stamps!
