A flowery tag for Bee Crafty

After last week's sunflower, I thought I would share my second favourite Bee Crafty flower with you today on a tag. Here is how I made it

I cut the largest tag (with a hole) from some corrugated card (mine came from some packaging around some biscuits and was originally white, but it would be worth experimenting with a variety of packaging)

I sprayed it with distress oxide sprays in Wilted Violet, Rustic Wilderness and Salty Ocean

Once it was dry I stuck it onto a black layer, again cut with the tag dies

I set this to one side and took the flower from the XL Doodle Art Ladybird set and stamped it three times on to watercolour paper in black waterproof ink (versafine, versafine clair or Archival will be fine)

I cut out the whole flower, leaving a border, the pointed petals and the very centre of the flower.

I used ecoline pens to colour the flower.

Once the flower parts were dry I shaped them on a piece of foam using a ball tool.

I used 3d glue to layer the flower to the front of the tag.

I stamped a sentiment from the Small words set onto a scrap of the watercolour card and cut it out

I added it to the tag along with some white gel pen highlights and some dots of liquid pearls to finish it off. I also punched a hole through the black layer and added a scrap of ribbon. Here is the finished tag.

And here is a close up to show the dimension

The effects of the sprays on corrugated card is definitely something I will try more of, and a bit of recycling is a bonus.

Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments!

Hochanda Samples for Crafty Individuals shows

Did you see Jean on Hochanda on Saturday with the latest stamps from Crafty Individuals? There are 4 brand new stamps designed by Sharron Bates that you can find here on the crafty Individuals website, along with some other goodies. I had such fun making my samples! First is 'of the Sea' stamped onto an alcohol ink background

Next is the same stamp, watercoloured and teamed up with the Craft Individuals 'wonderfully weathered' papers

And again with Wonderfully weathered 2 papers and splattered and painted with distress oxides

The second stamp 'The Street' looks great coloured with Speckled Egg and Crackling Campfire Distress oxide inks.

I also tried stamping it on a background sprayed with dylusion inks and highlighted with posca pens
My last sample using The Street was embossed in white over an inky background
I had great fun with 'Pablo the Penguin'

Not only does he look wonderful on card, but he also works brilliantly on shrink plastic as earrings...
and as a bauble

The final new stamp is the beautiful Cone flower or Echinachea, firstly painted and decoupaged...

and secondly stamped onto an alcohol ink background
Whilst we are on the subject of Crafty Individuals, I would like to send a huge 'Congratulations' to my lovely friend Lynne, who was announced as a brand new member of the Crafty Individuals DT during Jean's live yesterday afternoon! I know she will make some stunnng creations and be a real asset to the team! Well Done, Lynne!

More 'Make it Colourful' inspiration

It is mid-way through June so time for our mid-month inspiration for Stamping Sensations where the theme is

***Make it Colourful!***

Our Sponsors this month are Visible Image. My mid-month creation was made with That's Crafty stamps and stencil with a distress ink background. I simply wet the stencil then layed it over the ink to get the watermark effect. I coloured the flowers with arteza brush pens.
I do hope you get chance to enter the challenge.

Thanks for looking and for all your lovely comments.

February Rudolf Day and a Digi from Dora

It's the 27th of February and time is ticking fast for Rudolf Day this time! I am here with my offering. First is a Christmas card using Inky Doodles stamps. The background is stamped and embossed too.
My second card has stamps and papers from Crafty Individuals as well as some rather nice sticky letters that have been in my stash for ever. I'm popping these over to Maureen's blog, for Rudolf Days challenge, where there is some gorgeous inspiration for Christmas cards.
This last card is a wonderful spring digi from Dora's blog that you can find here. I love magnolia and this is so beautifully drawn by Dora - a pleasure to colour with alcohol based markers.

February Challenge at Stamping Sensations

Good morning, It's time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations and this month we are looking for
****Feminine****
As the title suggest we would love to see your stamped creations that reflect the theme. I am sure you will come up with lots of fabulous designs.
My first card this month features gorgeous stamps and stencils from our lovely sponsors,  Bee Crafty. I stamped the gorgeous flower from the XL ladybird set and masked it off, then sponged wilted violet, peacock feathers and blueprint sketch distress oxide for the background. I placed the mandala 4 stencil over the right corner and sprayed with water, blotting after a few seconds. I then did this again over the flower image. I took off the mask and coloured the image with arteza brush markers, but felt it needed more dimension, so I stamped the flower twice again, added a leaf and coloured them, cutting and layering with 3d glue gel.
I stamped the sentiment in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder, then stuck to the card.
My second card this month fatures a gorgeous Digi from JMC designs, who are providing us with an additional prize to our main sponsors. This is Cosmo Polly, although I may have forgotten to add the cranberry juice, lol. I really don't know anything about cocktails. A G&T is the most exotic thing on my radar!
Please can I remind you we are a stamping challenge so must see a stamped image which reflects the theme as the focal element of your artwork , this means:
Stamping must be the central point of attention and interest

Our prizes this month are A £25 voucher to spend at Bee Crafty and a whole collection of JMC digis! Do pop over to the challenge blog and take a look at the fabulous creations from my talented team mates!
Just a quick mention whilst I am here to let you know that my first DT cards for Crafty Individuals will be on Hochanda on Tuesday at 10am and 4 pm. There are some stunning stamps to feast your eyes on! Thanks for looking!
