Texture

Hi There! We have a brand new theme of Texture for our challenge over on the Bee crafty Stamps group so I thought I would share how I made this textured background.
I began by covering a 10cm square of card in Matte Medium and scrunched up a piece of stamping tissue over the top before leaving it to dry

Once dry, I trimmed the edges and then sprayed with Distress oxide sprays.
When this was dry, I used a darker shade of distress oxide ink direct to the paper to bring out the texture some more.
I used the Bakewell Big one inkable to add a little coordinating ink to the base card.
On a separate piece of card, I stamped the Doodle Art Dragonfly in Black versafine Clair and cut it out.
I used Ecoline brush pens to colour it in.
I stuck the body of the dragonfly to the textured panel and added some glitter glue.
Here's the card once more...
along with a closeup of that texture. I have left it without a sentiment for now but will add an appropriate one when I use it.
I used:
Big ones Inkable - I used Bakewell
6x6" card
10 cm square of card
Distress oxide sprays - I used Peacock feathers and Squeezed lemonade
Distress oxide ink - I used Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner
Glitter Glue

I hope this has encouraged you to experiment a little with texture!

Cool Colours Journal page

Hi There! Here is a journal page I put together over the weekend. I thought you might like to see how it came together.

I began by adding some blobs of Dylusions paints along the page edge and sprayed with water whilst the page was tilted to encourage it to run.
Once this was dry I stamped bits of the script stamp in versafine clair blue belle ink over the page randomly. This is easier to do with the stamp off the acrylic block and a small area inked up.
I sprayed a little salvaged patina distress oxide spray by the side of the paint, added a little water and let that run in the same way, blotting in a few places where it had pooled. This was left to dry
Next I took one of the tag inkables from set 4 and added grit paste through it over the painted area of the page.
Once this was dry I gently rubbed a little gilding wax over it.
I stamped some freehand borders and journaling essentials  onto stamping tissue using the blue ink.
I stamped the words in black ink onto tissue too
Finally I added these elements to the page using matte medium.
Here is the page again.
I used:
Dina Wakeley 6x6 white journal
Dylusions paints in Blue lagoon, London blue, Periwinkle and Crushed grape
Distress Oxide spray in Salvaged Patina
Grit paste - there is a translucent and an opaque version. I used Translucent
Gilding wax
Versafine Clair inks in blue belle and black (nocturne)

I will be live at 8pm this evening over on the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook page with more inspiration for our cool colours challenge.

Build a bridge journal pages

Hi there! I am bringing in the new year with some fresh colours in my journal. Here's what I did to create this journal spread.

I had a page where I had mopped up some inkables that had been used for green inks. I used twisted citron and salvaged patina distress spray to fill in the gaps
once this was dry I used the Bakewell big one inkable and peacock feathers distress oxide to add a little more colour to the page.
I used the 4inch square easy frame as a template to draw around with a distress crayon.
after removing the easy frame I painted between the lines using turquoise paint. Once dry I blended the crayon with my finger.
Next I took a piece of Bee Crafty stamping tissue and lay it on top of the smaller face inked stamp. then I flipped it over and inked the stamp again, carefully positioning it to form the other half of the face.
I trimmed the image then stuck it inside the frame using matte medium
using the worker stamps from the same stamp set I added to the background using black versafine clair.
Next I cut a strip of circles from the transparency and coloured the centres using a silver sharpie, turning it over to show all the black on the transparency.
I added a little more stamping using the journal art elements 3 and attached the strip of transparency using double sided tape under the silver pen. I finished it off  using a couple of wordy stickers.

Here is the finished page once more.
I used:
Turquoise paint

Hot colours tag

Hi there! Thought I would use hot colours for my blog post today...well, my uncharted mariner arrived so a teeny bit of that crept in too 😁

I began by spraying a tag with Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey Distress Oxide sprays.
When this was dry I placed the Fernando Big one over the top and sprayed Festive Berries Distress Oxide spray over it.
I used the little brickwork D'inkable to add a little Uncharted Mariner, adding a bit more around the edge of the tag with a sponge.
I stamped a few Doodle Art mandalas onto the background in Picked Raspberry Distress oxide.
on a piece of watercolour paper I stamped Bev with Versafine Clair black ink.
I used ecolines to colour her then cut her out.
I stuck her to the background using ultra thick gel medium and added a sentiment from the Bigger back chat set two stickers.
Here is the finished tag with a ribbon added.
I used:
Distress oxide inks in picked Raspberry and Unchartered Mariner

Circle of Friends

Hi There! I am here with a super-quick and easy card for my blog post as I am being a busy Bee with samples at the moment. It would be a really good card for a beginner to have a go at too.

I began by placing the innie from the inkable easy frame circle onto a white card blank and sprayed it with salvaged patina distress oxide spray. I then left it to dry thoroughly.
next I stamped the Circle of friends sentiment in the centre of the circle with versafine clair black ink.
I covered the sentiment up using the circle mask and then stamped the coffee stain stamps all over in crackling campfire and wild honey Distress oxide inks. I removed the mask and managed to keep my inky fingers from the white space.
Here is the finished card. I rather like that colour combo!
To make this card you will need:
A 6x6in white card blank

There is going to be a facebook launch of new stamps a week tomorrow, so start looking out for sneaky peeks later this week.
