Cool Colours Journal page

Hi There! Here is a journal page I put together over the weekend. I thought you might like to see how it came together.

I began by adding some blobs of Dylusions paints along the page edge and sprayed with water whilst the page was tilted to encourage it to run.
Once this was dry I stamped bits of the script stamp in versafine clair blue belle ink over the page randomly. This is easier to do with the stamp off the acrylic block and a small area inked up.
I sprayed a little salvaged patina distress oxide spray by the side of the paint, added a little water and let that run in the same way, blotting in a few places where it had pooled. This was left to dry
Next I took one of the tag inkables from set 4 and added grit paste through it over the painted area of the page.
Once this was dry I gently rubbed a little gilding wax over it.
I stamped some freehand borders and journaling essentials  onto stamping tissue using the blue ink.
I stamped the words in black ink onto tissue too
Finally I added these elements to the page using matte medium.
Here is the page again.
I used:
Dina Wakeley 6x6 white journal
Dylusions paints in Blue lagoon, London blue, Periwinkle and Crushed grape
Distress Oxide spray in Salvaged Patina
Grit paste - there is a translucent and an opaque version. I used Translucent
Gilding wax
Versafine Clair inks in blue belle and black (nocturne)

I will be live at 8pm this evening over on the Bee Crafty Stamps Facebook page with more inspiration for our cool colours challenge.

A journal page for Bee Crafty

Hi there! Over the last month I have bought a few new goodies with my birthday money, so it was time to try them out! Here is a journal page in my 8x8 dylusions journal using several of them.

I used:
Gold gilding wax
Versamark ink
Gold Liquid pearls
A small piece of black card

Here's what I did:

I applied some texture paste through the mandala stencil to the page and left it to dry.
Next I sprayed it with the Dina Wakely gloss sprays, then left it to dry very thoroughly

I applied gilding wax to the mandala area before setting the journal aside.

I stamped the la Luna and the moon stamps in versamark onto the collage paper and heat embossed with gold powder.
I cut these out and applied them to the page with gel medium.
I used archival ink to stamp some borders and add a few extra details. Some white pen helped to make them stand out a little.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto the black card and cut it out.
I added it to the page with the gel medium, and added a few dots of liquid pearls on the circles and at the corners.
This was the first page in my new journal, although it isn't at the front. I want to get used to working on a bigger page before I attempt that.
If you do a journal page or a tag this month using Bee Crafty products, you can enter it in the current challenge in the Bee Crafty facebook group for a chance to win some stamps!

An altered journal for Bee Crafty

As Bev from Bee Crafty is on Hochanda tomorrow with some really gorgeous Queen Bee Journaling stamps, I thought I would share this journal cover. I had bought a couple of small sketch books/ journals a while ago from a high street store, but they had the most ridiculous sticky labels on the front and by the time I had got them off, I had managed to damage the cover. This is what it looked like
Today I decided it was time to do something about it! I got the Bakewell Inkable big one and attached to the damaged cover with a pice of masking tape.

Next I applied some texture paste through the stencil with a palette knife. I washed my stencil and palette knife and left the paste to dry.
Once fully dry I painted over with black gesso and again left to dry thoroughly.
Next I rubbed a little gilding wax in 2 different colours over the textured surface.
I added a line with gold pen down the edge of where the stencil came to.
I used the larger of the banner dies from the Tag and Banner die set and cut one from some thick white card.
I used the Typewriter Alpha to stamp the word Journal across the die cut
A little black ink was sponged around the edge before attaching to the front of the journal with foam pads.
A couple of drops of liquid pearls finished it off.

Here is the finished journal. I am rather pleased with that rescue! I am going to do something similar with an A5 pad of mixed media paper for my bullet journal for next year. I am looking forward to improving my journaling skills using the templates and stamps on tomorrow's shows rather than buying a diary (My 2020 diary was a bit of a waste, lol).

I do hope you can join Bev (and Sam) on Hochanda at 1pm Tomorrow (Tuesday 15th December)
