I am super excited to announce another Workshop coming in February at the Urban Barn in Escondido, Ca. During this mixed media class I am going to be teaching various techniques that add texture and interest to a canvas. We will be using pen, ink, tissue paper, modeling paste, cardboard and tape. So fun! The project we will be working on has a love theme because the class in on the 9th of February -
a couple days before Valentine's Day!

This layered canvas is perfect to create for your home or give as a gift to a special someone. :))) I am sure we are going to be painting up a storm, laughing a lot (always), eating chocolate (how can we not??) and learning some great techniques.

If you are in the southern California area...come join us! I'd love to see your sweet face. :) We are bound to have a super creative time!!

Whimsy Christmas Class ReCap

Hi Lovely Friends! What an incredibly busy week, but wonderful at the same time. I can't believe it has been a whole week since I blogged. I just couldn't seem to get here. This last week, leading up to my Whimsy Christmas class at the Urban Barn, was full of running around, preparing for the class, and managing two sick kids at home. But, I was so honored to be able to lead such a fabulous group of ladies in a super fun artsy class. I had so much love and support from those around me that my heart was filled to the brim. :)

The ladies worked so hard on their beautiful creations. We had Christmas music playing, yummy chocolate brownies, creativity flying, laughter, warm tea, and loads of fun. We worked on one main 8x10 canvas and a smaller 5 x 5 wood block. I wanted the students to feel the difference between working on wood and canvas. Also inside their class kits was a manilla tag and a couple playing cards that they could work on altering as their pieces dried if they wanted. I didn't want anyone to be bored! Lol.
Altered tags I made for their goodie bags.

I worked on several different decorations for the class and I will be sharing some of them in tutorials over the next two weeks. SO fun! So, be sure to come back!!

Also, I am excited to share that another class is in the works for late January or early February. I am sure there will be some hearts and love involved since Valentine's Day will be hovering on the horizon. I hope some of my blog readers (if you are on the area) can join in! How fun would that be!? I will post the workshop on my Workshop tab above when the class is available. :)

Some of the beautiful ladies from class. I am sorry we can't see their paintings very well...they are gorgeous.

Have a beautiful beginning to the week. This girl needs to do some Christmas shopping (and crafting!)...how about you??

Gratitude Tag Make & Take and Class Info

Saturday was so much fun!
I spent the day at the Urban Barn in their creative classroom leading a Make n Take demo. I met lots of wonderful people, had a very helpful assistant (my mom!), and enjoyed exposing myself to new opportunity.
I also began taking sign ups for my new class at The Barn on December 1rst!!

We are going to be learning some amazing mixed media background and collage techniques. (I LOVE that learning how to make a background can then be used to make other pieces of art, gifts, cards, cool looks for scrap booking layouts, and so much more.) The project above is what we will be making! So darling!! Of course it is going to be festive, fun, and uber creative. The great thing is that the class is on the first weekend in December, so it will give you plenty of time to make more canvases as Christmas gifts. How great is that!?
If you live in southern California...come join the fun!! The class only costs $40 and we will be painting our little hearts out from 12 to 3:00pm at the
Urban Barn in Escondido.

I created a Workshop tab bar at the top of my blog so you can find my classes easily. This will be the first of many hopefully. :) Here are some more pics from the day...

New ornament hanging with my necklaces...

See my little 4x4 canvases among my friend Toni's GOR-geous things!

Thank you for looking!
How was your weekend?

Hi all!
I am super excited to announce that I will be teaching my first live mixed media and collage workshop! Yiiipppee!!

I am going to be teaching a class at Urban Barn! If you haven't been there, it is an amazing place filled with all kinds of vintage goodies. I am heading down there today for their Harvest Vendor Fair to lead a "Make and Take," display some of my artsy goods, and take sign ups for my new class. SO beyond excited. But, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I am a wee bit nervous!! Wish me luck!

More information to come in case you are in the southern California area and want to come get messy with us! :)

Have a Beautiful Weekend!!
