You're a Classic Card

The month of May is full of birthdays in our family and many of them are for the guys. My dad, brother and father-in-law all have their birthday within seven days of each other. Well, mine falls in that timeline too, but we don't have to talk about that! My dad's birthday is the first one and so I've made this You're a Classic Card for him. I used a pre-colored digital image and sentiment from Doodle Pantry. The layout is from the current sketch at Retro Sketches. To add a little antiqued look I used a charcoal chalk ink around the edges of the image and gumball green dsp. The black banner is dry embossed with the square lattice embossing folder by Stampin' Up! Now that's one card down and two to go. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your day!

Washi Tape Thank You Card

Hello! It's a beautiful Friday morning here in Oklahoma. The birds are singing and the sun is shining. I need to go outside and plant the a few things before they die in the pots I bought them in. But... before I do that, I want to share a sneak peek at this Washi Tape Thank You Card I made with the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape by Stampin' Up! It's new in the upcoming catalog release. The pansy flower and the sentiment are from the new hostess stamp set called Morning Meadow.

My intentions earlier this week was to make a card using the new Washi Tape, but I never got around to it. Last night, I decided to look up the current Retro Sketches challenge and their sketch was perfect for the idea I wanted to create. This Thank You Card has a casual feel but it still has plenty of colour. The pansy was stamped in Melon Mambo and then fussy cut (the new catalog has a coordinating punch). Melon Mambo is such a pretty bright colour. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and have a FABulous weekend!!!

XOXO Flower Card

Today, I received my first crafting injury.  I was punching out the corrugated kraft flower and pinched the palm of my hand pretty good.  So, I now have a bruise from crafting.  Oh well, beauty can be painful.

The XOXO Flower Card was made using the Retro Sketches challenge and the colour challenge from ColourQ.  I love the simplicity of this weeks sketch, it was super easy to put together and still maintains a dramatic look.
